Beautiful spacious model quality home in quiet neighborhood in Santa Fe Hills

Gorgeous, fully furnished two-story open concept home with spacious rooms. The home has a beautiful kitchen with modern stainless steal appliances (Refrigerator, Microwave, Stove, Toaster, Mixer), granite counter tops and new cabinetry. Hot water for drinks is available at the touch of a finger with an instant hot faucet. The family room is large and has a 46-inch LCD TV, including cable and a Wii Gaming System with games. For those that can’t get away from work, there is an office located next to the family room with a printer/FAX, phone and Wi-Fi (allows access to the internet anywhere in the house). A laundry room and bathroom are located near the office and three-car garage. Upstairs are 3 large bedrooms; a master suite, a game room (books, Legos, toys) and a large bonus room with an additional large screen LCD TV, including cable.

In addition to being spacious, the home has views of the surrounding hills and mountains and is located on a quiet street with easy access to the 78 freeway and local Sprinter train station. The home shows like a model home. It has a grand entry, a pergola and patio cover, a small fountain and custom gas grill in the backyard. This vacation home offers you the choice to just relax and enjoy the quiet, beautiful area, take walks to the local park and children's play area, or enjoy the neighborhood recreational facilities which include a large pool, tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball court, and baseball fields. Or, you can simply bike, roller-blade, or take leisurely walk around the scenic neighborhood. If you're the active type, you are only 1.75 miles from the 78 Freeway and all that San Diego, Temecula and the beaches have to offer. Shopping, movie theaters, casual and fine dining can be found 2 to 2.6 miles away (Nordstrom’s Rack, Ross, Sprouts Grocery Store, Elephant Bar Restaurant, Old California Restaurant Row to name a few). Additional shopping can be done at the Carlsbad Outlet Stores or one of the two malls located on the 78 Freeway and I-15 Freeway about 12 miles away. All the hot sites and attractions are easily accessible via freeway or train. LegoLand, Carlsbad and Oceanside Beaches, and the San Diego Wild Animal Park are 12 to 15 miles away. Balboa Park, SeaWorld, Sea Port Village, Old Town, Gas Lamp District and the San Diego Zoo are only 39 miles south of San Marcos. Disneyland is an easy 75 minute ride North (72 miles) via the 78 Freeway and then the I-5 Freeway. Temecula’s Old Town, wine country, and golfing are only 34 miles to the North on the I-15 Freeway.

About Terry Woodcock

I am a retired Software Engineer that worked for Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon for 31 years. I grew up in Southern California where I went to school and got my Masters Degree in Computer Science. I currently live with my wife and son in Murrieta California, which is located about 30 to 40 minutes to the North of San Marcos. When my wife retires in the next 4 to 5 years, we plan to move back to our home in San Marcos.

Why Terry Woodcock chose San Diego County

I have lived near the ocean my entire life. I grew up in the cooler more cloudy conditions found at the beach. When we bought this home we decided to move inland a little to get more sun. Since It is only 12 miles from the beach, it gets ocean breezes late in the day. However, because it is located away from the beach and up against the hills the sun comes out sooner and stays longer. The home is also centrally located near the 78 and I-15 freeways and was half way between our two jobs. I drove South down the I-15 to San Diego and my wife drove North to Murrieta.

What makes this house unique

The features of the area that attracted us to this home are the tree lined streets, recreational parks and local parks. The reason we pick this particular home was because it was on a hill. The hill gave us greater separation from our neighbors and great views of the surrounding hills out our back door.

Recreational area in neighborhood includes pool (pool open May 26th, 2012 and closes September 9th, 2012), lit tennis courts and basketball court, soccer field and baseball fields. Walking paths are accessible behind back gate of home, along with beautiful, tree-lined sidewalks all throughout the neighborhood. For those who are adventurous, there are hiking paths in the hills surrounding the neighborhood. Also if you can send email from your smart phone, tablet or computer, you can print documents or pictures in the office. Just email the documents or pictures to the email address provided with the rental and they print on the printer.

We thought we had already sent our review but we will try a second time to say that this property was ideal for our family of seven. It was spacious, well located, very attractive, and we received a warm welcome from the property owners. Our time at Terry and Diane's was the best!

Don't miss this one!!!

I could write an essay about how wonderful it was to stay in this home and how thoughtful (and communicative) the owners are!!! Instead I will summarize by saying it is the best property we have EVER stayed in. (We have 40 years experience--even before Home Away or VRBO existed!) Stay here if it is available during your time schedule--or change your schedule to be able to stay here.

Superb stay, in every way

The booking process was very simple and efficient with Terry providing very helpful prompts when payments were due. Terry also provided useful Google maps / links so that we were able to familiarise ourselves with the area ahead of our stay.

Terry was there to meet us at his home and gave us a very thorough briefing on the various appliances, equipment, location, facilities etc. This is a beautiful home with lots of personal touches and not just a vacation rental. The home is as described on the website - very spacious and extremely well equipped and we made good use of all that it had to offer. The outdoor space was beautiful and it was perfect for relaxing family time.

During our stay, we tried out a couple of the restaurants a short drive from the home, we walked to the swimming pool, we visited Moonlight Beach, we did some shopping at Carlsbad outlet mall and we used the Coaster train from Encinitas to explore all that San Diego had to offer. This luxurious home provided the perfect base for us.

Unfortunately, we left a few personal items behind and Terry promptly made arrangements to get them returned prior to us leaving the US, which was greatly appreciated.

Terry has been great to deal with and we would highly recommend his home to any friends or family considering staying in the San Marcos area.

Lovely spacious home

Myself, wife and 3 grown-up children stayed for 9 days in August. Beautifully clean and well presented home, with all the facilities that you could wish for, which made for a very enjoyable stay. Terry was excellent in providing all the detailed information of the home and also activities available in the local area prior to arriving, together with a full introduction on our arrival which helped us settle in easily. Lovely quite neighbourhood. Highly recommended, no-one should be disappointed with their stay. Thank you.

Amazing experience, Once again

This trip was my family's third rental of this property and once again it was an amazing experience. Terry and Diane provide a truly great home; you won't regret reserving this for your trip. This property is my first choice for accommodation when visiting San Marcos / San Diego.
