Welcome to our luxury summer house on 93 m2 or 1001 ft2 located near the wonderful Borgarnes village.

The summer house is newly built in 2007 and has 3 bedrooms. In two rooms are double beds and in one is a full size bunk bed. We also have portable bed for a child. 6 people can easily guest in the house. The living room has a large couch, modern facilities and furniture. It is directly connected to the dining area and the kitchen.

The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, freezer, baking oven, dishwasher, stove, micro wave and other equipment. In the bathroom is a toilet, shower and washing machine.

The house is not far from amazing 'must see“ places such as Snæfellsnes national park, It was voted one of **Iceland Top Five** to visit. There you can enjoy the glacier Snæfellsjökull, and it's magical and remarkable nature.

The house is a one hour drive north from the Reykjavík Capital and 10 minutes from Borgarnes. In Borgarnes you can go to one of the nicest swimming pools in Iceland, play golf at Hamarsvöllur, visit the great Settlement center where you can learn about the icelandic culture and saga, go to the pub and shop at the cheap Bonus grocary store.

Stykkishólmur is about 60 minutes drive, there you can go sailing, Whale Whatching and enjoy bird whatching paradise.

It is only 60 min driving on to the Golden Circle to veiw the great Gullfoss and the hot spring Geysir. Also on the Golden Circle you will find the hystorical place Thingvellir (Þingvellir):

The location of the house is exelant, if you are goint to the north Akureyri and it is midway between the two great National Parks, Snæfellsnes and Thingvellir National Park and only one our from our Capital, Reykjavik.

About Erla Berglind

My name is Erla Berglind and I am a classical singer. I am married and have 3 children and four grandchildren, 3 cats and five horses. I love to go to Borgarfjördur, stay in my cottage and go horse riding.

Why Erla Berglind chose Iceland

The cottage is comfortable, easy to reach and the location is great. This coming winter should be great opportunity to watch the northern lights because of increased activity in the surface of the sun.

What makes this cottage unique

In the wintertime it is great fun to go to the hot tub in the evening when the northern lights are dancing all around the cottage. And at the same time watch the beautiful stars in the sky.

Perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

After staying in Reykjavik for two nights, this was the perfect place to stay away from the city, yet centrally located to many major sites. The hot tub was a perfect place to relax in afte a long day's journey. The owner is a sweetheart and takes great pride in making this a home away from home.

Nice cottage, nice location

  • 4 of 5

Lovely, homely cottage located in a quiet area of Iceland. Lots to explore during the day (glaciers, lava tunnels, coastal towns) and it's nice and dark in the evenings for a chance to see the northern lights.

Erla was very helpful in the booking process. Thank you!

Very nice house, beautiful view, great location

  • 4 of 5

6 of us stayed here in July. We lucked out with amazing weather so we're able to take some really nice road trips to the Snaefellsnes peninsula from here. The house was a good size with a nice deck to eat out in, a hot pot, a sandbox for our children to play in, and some beautiful views. It's situated in an area that is not too crowded with summer houses, and is only about an 1.5 hour drive from Reykjavik.
