Cozy loft with 9 ft ceilings located in a quiet apartment building. Less than a 5 minute walk to Montreal's famous underground subway system. Short bus ride (or walk) to Westmount's upscale shops and scenic Westmount park where Shakespeare in the Park plays are held every summer. One subway stop to Monkland Village shopping and dining. Walk up the street to local eateries, pharmacy and grocery store. Don't forget to walk over to Momesso's for their famous subs or that special treat at Chez Fred !. If traveling by car you have quick access to Decarie Highway which will bring you anywhere in the city (highway 15, 20, and 40).
The owners (Franca and her husband) were very reasonable and accommodating. We came up during Jazzfest for a long weekend and rented one of their "efficiency" style apartments that was one room with a bed, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The room was newly renovated and very clean. The actual building, however, has not yet been renovated (the owner explained they are in the process) and the halls and exterior are not in great shape just yet. That did not affect our stay, however, as it was merely aesthetic. This apartment has limited (4-5 spots) street parking but we were ok finding a spot. It is a block away from a great pastry shop (Chez Fred) that we visited daily and the metro station to get anywhere in the city (Vendome). The only negatives about this property are that it shares a back wall with a club and a mechanic, and there was some noise on weekend evenings. Also, there appeared to be construction in or on top of the apartment building very early on Saturday morning and with the somewhat thin windows, the noise was a bit disturbing.
Overall, this apartment and Montreal combined for an excellent weekend getaway for me and my wife (from Washington DC). We look forward to coming back some day! Thanks!
The place has all the facilities of an apartment. The layout is a bit different from the one in pic ( the couch and bed switched places). It's a big space and the staff is very friendly. The price is good given it's 5 minutes walk from the subway/metro station which is very useful for going downtown Montreal. The floor needed a bit more cleaning and some tea would have been appreciated. All in all good stay for the money.
Perfect location close to anything you need and a metro station to get you anywhere you want to go. Comfortable apartment with all the comforts of home, friendly people and very clean. If there was a gym in the building I would give it five stars.
The apartment comes with all amenities, such as a fully equiped kitchen, flatscreen TV and is quite large. It is situated on the 4th floor of an old industrial building. The location is very close to Metro Station Vendome (10Min to downtown) and just around the corner of Sherbrooke street which offers restaurants, grocery stores and bars. It offers more than enough space for up to 4 people and is very quiet.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice and quite alternative to a downtwon apartment in Montreal. The owner is also very friendly and extremly helpful in case you if need anything or if might have forgotten something.
One subway stop to Monkland Village for great restaurants with outdoor terraces great for people watching and unique shopping boutiques. 15 minute walk or short bus ride to Westmount boutiques. Short bus ride to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Less than 20 minute bus or subway ride to Museum of Modern Art and Jazz Festival Outdoor stages and indoor venues.
