Location, location, location. In the summertime, the open terrain becomes some of the best hiking and biking trails on the North Shore. You can access the trails at the home and go for miles. All the roads in the neighborhood dead end at trail heads. North National Park is walking distance to the house and offers Frisbee golf, ball fields, snowmobile rentals and much more. The Lake at Kings Beach is 2.5 miles away and has boat and kayak rentals. White, sandy beaches will remind you of being in Hawaii. Shopping and entertainment are here with casinos 3 miles away that will satisfy your thirst for nightlife. Crystal Bay Club is known for their music venues, and Cal Neva for their spa services. There is an abundance of restaurants and shops scattered up and down Kings Beach that will cater to your daytime or evening dining fancies.

In the wintertime… you are in the middle of the North Shore with easy access to the ski resorts. You are 4 miles to the entrance of Northstar which offers a great all-around skiing mountain, along with a new village with ice skating rink, shops and restaurants. Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley are minutes away and there is a short cut which eliminates dealing with traffic in Tahoe City. Diamond Peak and Mt Rose are 20 min away and offers less expensive skiing with specials and family pricing. Cross country skiing and snow shoeing are literally out the back door…and for those adventure enthusiasts, there is a multitude of snowmobiling rentals as close at 2 miles from the house.

This chalet style home with loft is great for large families or groups of friends. It has an open floor plan with 22ft ceilings with large windows looking out to the forest. Located in a quiet pocket of homes surrounded by forest land, you'll see more people out walking than cars driving by. All the roads dead end at trail heads that the forestry service maintains which allows unlimited hiking and biking in the summertime. In the wintertime, the front yard becomes a nice sledding hill for the kids. In the summertime, the kids will love playing in the meadow, and the hiking the trails

As you walk in front door, you are greeted by a large open living area called the 'Great Room'. In Tahoe we think cooking is a main hobby, so houses are built with open areas that comprise of the living, kitchen and dining room. You can cook and socialize at the same time.Your family or group will enjoy the spacious living area with sectional, scattered ottomans, and a wood burning stove with brick hearth. This faces a large HD Smart TV with Dish satellite reception. The dining area has a 10 top timber trestle table with benches and is perfect for entertaining at. The kitchen, surrounded by countertops, and barstools, overlooks the dining and living area, with lots of counter space and large enough to accommodate a number of chefs. The kitchen has another table in it with barstools, and ample cupboard space with all the amenities you may want or need during your stay. Off the dining area is a sliding glass door that exits out to a sunny wrap-around deck. The deck has just been remodeled with expansions and wrap around seating. Its great in both winter and summer. The deck and house sits low off the street, so you have privacy with a nice yard, and a meadow behind the house. Patio furniture and barbecues make the summertime outdoor activities worth looking forward to. Off the side yard is deck with forest views and separate deck with Hot Tub. You can soak in the tub for hours, enjoying the meadow views.

Down the hall from the living area, is a full bathroom, laundry room and two bedrooms. One room has a queen bed , TV, and has a sliding glass door that exits out to a private deck with a view that looks out to a the meadow the house sits on. The other bedroom, has a pillow top King size poster bed, TV, and meadow views.

Up the stairs are two more enclosed bedrooms, and a loft. The Master bedroom is large and has a King bed, and twin bed, TV/DVD and bathroom. The high A framed beam ceilings, and the triangle windows above the bed really makes this room special. At night you can see stars, and in the morning you can see the colors of the sky's sunrise. Off the Master is a alcove with twin bed,and another full bathroom with skylights. The loft is adjacent to this with 2 twin beds, TV,and doubles as a game room. There is a full size foosballs table that is a hit for children, and extra room to play cards etc. There is also a private 4th bedroom here with a queen bed and TV which shares the high beam ceilings, and towering windows.

Each room has a TV and is unique with European style bedding with 300 count sheets, extra pillows, plisse, bed throw, memory foam toppers and window coverings to give you the charm and comfort you'd expect from a mountain home. The furnishings compliment the 'Pine Lodge' decor. The open areas and high ceiling ,allow you to socialize with family or friends, without feeling closed in.

The house has all the amenities of home and more. Coffee service is provided for your first morning here, and bathrobes are in most bedrooms for your use. The furnishings are user friendly with plenty of seating for your family and friends. High ceilings with large wooden beams, triangle shaped windows, and mountain decor compliment the 'Tahoe' feeling. The location and amenities of this home makes this a great vacation home year-round.

About Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe has been my playground for 20 years. With all the traveling I’ve done, there is nothing compared to the amenities and beauty the Tahoe basin has to offer. I purchased my first home here in 1992 and decided to share it with others when not in use. I now have many 5 and 6 bedrooms homes I offer for your enjoyment. Each have hot tubs, most with pool tables and in locations that allows easy access to the Lake and Ski resorts. They were purchased for vacation rentals and are designed to be user friendly with all the amenities of home. I have a full time staff that includes cleaning, maintenance and will respond within 24 hours for all your needs. Feel free to call me about my other homes, or to just to discuss the perfect ski run on the perfect day.

Why Lake Tahoe chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

Lake Tahoe has been my playground for 20 years. With all the traveling I’ve done, there is nothing compared to the amenities and beauty the Tahoe basin has to offer. What makes this house unique

Love the location and all the hiking around the house. You can wake up, get a cup of coffee and walk right from the house to one of the many trials with lake views. A total Tahoe experience.

The neighborhood is surrounded by tall pines and unlimited hiking trails, yet Kings Beach with restaurants and shopping is right down the street. Great Lake front restaurants and always something to do. The casinos are 3 miles away with gambling, music and spa services.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family wanted a nice home in a great quiet neighborhood that was close to the Lake, restaurants, and centrally located to many activities. We picked the perfect place. The house was set up to accommodate 3 families well, the kids had lots of areas around the house to play without needing adult supervision, the adults really enjoyed the late nightcaps on the large deck under the stars, and we all enjoyed the hot tub and incredible smells of the forest surrounding us. Days were spent at the beach's close to the house, and everything we talked about doing, we did and it was easy to get there. Every a super grocery store for all the items we forgot was close enough to buzz down to. The beds were comfortable, and the decor and amenities added to our enjoyment. Little touches here and there were welcomed, and we made new friends with the neighbors next door. Finally..we found our vacation home in Lake Tahoe and look forward to next year's stay.

Dissapointed

  • 1 of 5

This cabin unfortunately did not live up to our expectations. During the drive up, we realized how far it was from 267. When we arrived, the hot tub had not been cleaned and was not able to be used. Upon entering, we saw that the floor was not clean and we all walked around with shoes in order to keep our feet clean. In addition, the sliding glass door does not lock and we had to use a stick of wood to keep it closed at night. We also encountered problems with a few of the TVs. The second floor had a few more problems. The loft appeared way bigger in pictures, and there was no closet space for anyone staying on the second floor. The ceilings are also very low in places, and we even had an injury because someone hit their head very hard on the lower part. When we were leaving, we also discovered that the lock box was not easy to get open at all, and took about 20 minutes. If you are looking to rent this cabin, keep in mind that it is not as big as it looks online, it is not the cleanest, and it is not close to the lake. Also, there are an overwhelming amount of mosquitos!! We all were bit multiple times.

Roomy cabin

  • 5 of 5

I celebrated a bachelor/bachelorette party with ten 27 year olds. The house exceeded our expectations. Feels remote, but close to Kings Beach, North Tahoe Regional Park, and ski resorts. Good kitchen and family room. Plenty of beds. Four true bedrooms and four twins in the open space upstairs. Nice cabin feel. I would go here again, and I would recommend to friends.

Functional, spacious, a bit rough around the edges

  • 4 of 5

The property accommodated our group of 9 adults (3 couples, three singles) very well. Northstar was a very easy drive, although in heavy snow it might be a bit slow to get out to the main road and then to Northstar. The house was well-appointed with kitchen utensils and pantry staples like salt and oil. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for something that can fit a lot of people in real, private beds but still be on a budget!

Owner's Response: I wish I had a better idea of what rough around the edges means. The house has maintenance service after each tenant and is kept up. I keep up on replacing furnishings, stocking the house and fixing anything the house needs. Furnishings, bedding and patio furniture all in good or new condition. I own 6 homes like this and keep the prices low enough to accommodate families. Most tenants feel the rates are great for the amenities the house offers, but not a budget house. This home especially is set up for families. I hope your group can visit again and I would love to show you one of my larger homes that is more set up for adults. I'm glad he enjoyed the house and hopefully you will return.

wonderful home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our stay in this home. Not only was it clean, we really enjoyed the mountain decor and the homeowners thought of everything to make our stay in their home comfortable and fun. After a long day on the mountain we were excited to get back to our cabin. We had 2 families of 4 stay and there was more than enough room for us all to have plenty of room. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home and make awesome memories with our family!!!

Family vaca

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect choice for a family vacation. Our adult daughters, their husband, boyfriend, granddaughter,& an uncle all loved the house. First of all, the location of the home is great. The layout and size is good for gathering together in the kitchen to cook or in any room. Another nice thing about the home is that if anyone gets annoyed by another family member, we can scatter! ;-) of course that never happened because everyone was in the best mood/state of mind, to be in this tranquil place. Hiking paths right out the door. All of my bunch is up for going back!

Cozy and comfortable cottage with lots of beds!

  • 3 of 5

My party of 8 enjoyed Tahoe Chalet and its surroundings. Every guest had a bed to sleep in, so everyone got the rest they needed for the mountainous adventures we had planned for the weekend. The only draw back was that the space appeared larger in pictures than in reality, but that really didn't stop us from having a great time!

My minor complaint was that I was required to sign a contract in addition to paying online and agreeing to the vrbo's terms and conditions. The contract had multiple mistakes and it felt like an extra step as far as online rentals go. In addition, the property owner called multiple times and left multiple voicemails to remind me to return it just a couple of hrs after I received the latest contract. However, when I had emailed her about the shortage of toilet paper and paper towels, she never responded.

The kitchen isn't well stocked with pots and pans, but has plenty of silver, plates, and stemware. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to spend the majority of time on the slopes in the winter!

Owner's Response: Because you book online does not confirm you’ll have a place to stay without a rental agreement from the Owner or Property Manager. It may be an extra step but it is more important than signing VRBO’s term and conditions which is between the Tenant and VRBO only for using their web sight When an online booking is made, an agreement is sent to confirm dates, rates, group etc, and upon signature, guest is provided with instructions on entering the house. March 8th guest received the agreement and March 22nd she called to ask about correcting a typo which was done that day. I received her signature 2 days before their arrival. In the instructions it states I provide enough supply's including soaps, shampoo, etc to get your stay started and where to buy it if needing more. Each bathroom had 2 rolls of toilet paper and 1 full roll of paper towels in the kitchen for their 3 day stay. I didn’t get her email until the evening before they checked out. I appreciate her comment on the pans and will buy a new set so there will be plenty for next Tenant.

This house is in the middle of the Northshore and has easy access to all Lake Tahoe has to offer. 1.5 miles from the highway, getting around the Tahoe Basin is effortless. The drive around the Lake is breathtaking and you'll enjoy the different little towns that surround the Lake. . The house is in a quiet pocket of homes just up from the Lake at Kings Beach .All the homes here sit on a meadow with tall pine trees, and roads dead end at the hiking trails. Winter and summer they are used and maintained by the forest service. It borders the Tahoe Rim trail which is a destination for some with endless hiking trails you can access from the house. Brockway Summit is well know for its path to Tahoe City, and Watson Lake is worth hiking too. You can walk in the summertime to our neighborhood park, North National Park. The park encompasses approximately 124 acres of predominantly active recreational activities. An 18 par fitness course, ball fields, Frisbee Golf, playground are just a few options. In the wintertime they offer a nice sledding hill for tubing and snow fun. Within 20 min to all the ski resorts on the North Shore, Northstar in the closest and newest village. The village was modeled after Beaver Creek Colorado...cobblestone sidewalks, copper roofs and a multitude of restaurants and shops that line the 'square'. The square is an ice skating rink in the wintertime and roller skating in summer. The bon fire pits and outdoor bars are always there. Its a wonderful setting to hang out at especially at night. Skiing here is family orientated with lots of ski programs for all ages, and a pristine mountain that keeps a good grasp on good snow conditions. If your staying a week, I highly recommend taking advantage of the other resorts also. A bonus is from the house you can drive the back way to Alpine and Squaw Valley which will eliminate the morning traffic through Tahoe City. Both mountains have tons of excellent skiing, and mountain biking in the summertime. MT Rose is where to go for open terrain, Diamond Peak for kids and an easy day skiing. Both are 15 min to the house. In the summertime, Kings Beach just down the street is a State Park with lifeguard and lake toys to rent. The beach is the highlight with wide sandy beaches, and views you have to experience to appreciate. There are also smaller beaches up and down the strip for reading a book, and dog beaches for your loved ones. Brockway golf course in Kings Beach is a must for those that just want a good time. One of the top 9 hole courses in California, its known for its yardage and views. In the wintertime the course becomes a snowmobiling park. Tahoe City is 12 miles away and offers another nice city with shops, restaurants and outdoor venues. The Truckee River is our playground for fishing, river rafting, and bike baths to view all. A nice day is renting your bike in Tahoe City and riding to River Ranch. This is a river front restaurant with large outdoor patio at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. Here is where the river tours end and usually where the rafts have issues. You can spend the day here watching the rafters and enjoying their menu and drink. Between the location , amenities of the house, and your favorite family or friends, you'll have a great home to stay at while getting a true Lake Tahoe experience.

Notes:
I offer 5 homes in this neighborhood that are great vacation rentals. 'laketahoe4u.com' All the homes sit on a meadow and the roads dead end at trail heads. Tall pine trees with sights and smells surround the houses and the quiet sound of birds and the wind blowing through the trees is intoxicating. Located in the middle of the North Shore, there is easy access to any event or place you want to drive to in the Tahoe basin. The beach's down the street are like being in an Hawaiian cove. Shallow water is safe for children and lifeguards line the beach. The State Park at Kings Beach has BBQ grills and picnic tables on the shoreline with lots of parking. In the wintertime, Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Northstar, Diamond Peak, Mt Rose are all within 20 min to the house. Super easy access to all, with short cuts eliminating traffic to most. Enjoy skiing at a different resort everyday. The house is clean and well maintained. Many guests come back yearly and refer others to my homes.
