Great river front house

  • 5 of 5

The house was great. Very clean, had everything our family needed to enjoy a few nights away. I would highly recommend.

Wonderful, beautiful well equipped retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here. Becky and her husband were very responsive when we had a few hiccups and such kind people. The house is well equipped with all the cooking supplies you can need (of note for me was they had a roasting pan and champagne glasses! something we brought from home separately because we assumed they wouldn't have it). There are rollaway beds for extra people and a pack and play. The location is so beautiful with a firepit right on the river (firewood is there too, we brought it as well and didn't need it), canoes, kayaks, games inside, nice outside grill. The hot tub is huge. The only negative is one of the four rooms is in a little cabin outside without a bathroom, so a bit of a pain in the winter, and the part of the rive directly in front of the cabin has a very strong current so you have to go upriver a bit if you want to swim or canoe without struggling. Also like 5 mins from Massanutten, which is a big plus.

Great cabin... well stocked. Awesome view.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great. Exactly what we wanted. Only slight issue was the fourth bedroom which was separate (a few feet) from the main house that didn't contain a bathroom. So guests who stay there would have to step outside to get to the main house to use the bathroom. Only a few feet away but if it's cold/raining etc. it can be annoying.

One of the Best

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home and is just like the pictures, if not better. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Beds are super comfy and there are plenty of quality linens provided. Wonderful views of the river. Our only regret was we didn't get to take advantage of the provided kayaks due to the river being so high with the recent rainfall. Would definitely come back again!

We were so happy to find this home for our vacation in Virginia. We have been renting homes for 20 + years and this is the cleanest we have ever been in. You would never know it is pet friendly. The location was perfect for the things we came to do. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. The oak tree from the 1700's in front is one of the most perfect things I've seen in nature. We saw a bald eagle a few times fly by. Multiple deer on the drive out. The home was stocked with everything we needed from the kitchen to the kayaks outside. We found it hard to leave the grounds on a few days. I like when that happens. I would highly recommend staying here. I'll do it again.

Beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

My family loved the house and its beautiful setting. The river was perfect for all ages to enjoy. We were a group ranging in age from 11 to 85. We all tubed and enjoyed the kayaks. Thank you for having so many life jackets of various sizes. We also enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated the light weight outdoor chairs because we moved them around a lot. We saw a bald eagle, a blue heron, hawks, a flock of Canadian geese riding the rapids, fish, a craw fish and a baby turtle. The ancient oak tree on the property was incredible and very spiritual. We enjoyed learning about the history of the property in the guest book. The house was very clean and well equipped. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.
