Beautiful home and location

  • 5 of 5

We visited Florissant for a family reunion and were looking for a place close to our relatives. This was the perfect place! The view was beautiful and the house was very comfortable and homey. I highly recommend!

Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in a perfectly lovely home. There was room for all our kids. It was very clean and cozy. Except for a couple of light bulbs that were burned out and the toilet seat in the basement that needed repair, the house was in great shape. I would recommend this house/cabin to anyone who wants to get away from it all. I think we heard 1 vehicle the whole time we were there and I think it was the road grater. Beautiful weather and you are up high enough no need for air conditioning. The hot tub and pool table were a bonus for our kids. We had a great time. Thank you for making your cabin available to us!!!

Beautiful home, mediocre management, renters beware: no heat, broken hot tub, dead flies.

  • 1 of 5

Despite our best efforts and attitudes, we encountered so many issues at Chateau Vista that it is unlikely we would rent from these managers again, and caution others to do the same. On the surface, the home was gorgeous. All rooms were beautifully appointed (albeit, the Christmas decorations were still up) and there was plenty of space for our group.

Unfortunately, we encountered issues as soon as we arrived. First, there were dead flies everywhere. I spent the beginnings of our vacation sweeping up the carcasses, which only persisted throughout our stay. Second, we quickly ascertained that the gas appliances, furnace, and hot tub were not working (which was at 45 degrees at arrival). Upon these discoveries, I quickly contacted the manager, Mike, via the emergency number provided, but had to leave a message. Hours later, Mike called back, and tried to explain the heat and hot tub would take awhile to get up to temperature; however, I persisted, letting him know that we had been at the property for hours with no resolution. Mike eventually came out to the house, brought us a few space heaters, and let us know the propane tank was never refilled prior to our stay; though, he promised the propane would be refilled the next day, and that the hot tub would warm up overnight. Luckily, Mike was able to get the propane truck out to the property around 11 PM that night, so at least we had heat...eventually.

The next morning, the hot tub was clearly broken. I called Mike, again, who promised that the hot tub mechanic would be out within the hour to take a look. Many hours later, the mechanic finally showed, and had to take apart the hot tub in order to solve the issue. Once fixed, it took the hot tub over 8-hours to come up to temperature, at which time it was 2 AM. We specifically booked this property for the hot tub, and didn't even get to use it, less the hour or so we had in the morning before checkout.

The cleaning crew arrived in the morning, and we let them know about the issues we encountered. Renee was so professional and understanding; she even contacted the managers to inform them about our complaints, and apologized on their behalf. She also indicated that the property had been vacant without maintenance for at least 1.5 months prior to our stay, and clearly management was at fault. Despite the myriad issues, I have yet to hear from management, whom I assumed would offer a consolation, or at the very least, an apology. How unprofessional!

Owner's Response: We are so so sorry to hear about these issues. We agree that these issues were not acceptable and we do so strive to provide excellent service to our guests. We get very very few poor reviews. I want to respond to some of these issues to give future guests a better feel about what to expect going forward. This was truly a "perfect storm" if you will.. 1) This year particularly we have had a problem with what they call "cluster flies" and much more prevalent in log homes for some strange reason. It is amazing we can clean them all up in the morning and by the next day there are just as many dead flies. We did contact a pest control service and all the homes affected by this problem have been sprayed (organically). 2) This is the first time any of our homes have run out of propane, they are all on a regular top off schedule. Come to find out the delivery service had missed many homes as a result of a winter storm we had, and they did not get them rescheduled. When management received the call they immediately went to the home and were very pleased that we were able to get the propane company to do an urgent after hours delivery. 3) And then as luck would have it, the hot tub also decided to have issues.. ugh... and again we were fortunate to be able to get the hot tub repair person out as quickly as we did. We are particularly thank full that neither the heat or the hot tub had been off for long as both could have resulted in major damage with frozen pipes and a frozen hot tub. 4) And we do check on our homes on a very very regular basis, especially in the winter. We truly are so sorry these quests did not have a wonderful experience, and will be in touch with them to compensate them accordingly.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend with adults and children at this cabin. Hot tub was wonderful and everyone enjoyed the pool table and huge movie selection. Kitchen was great as we did lots of cooking. Found a small hill nearby and went sledding. Plenty of space for our group, 3 families. I would highly recommend. As I read in a few reviews we also experienced getting lost as the directions are not correct on the email. We did meet some nice neighbors that helped though.

Very Nice, it was exactly what we were looking for.

  • 5 of 5

The property was easy to find, very nice, well stocked with items to prepare any type of meals. The kids and adults enjoyed the pleasant outdoors, being greeted by (5) deer ( four does and a huge buck standing at the steps of the property. We saw lots of wildlife hiking. We also enjoyed the pool table, hot tub and teaching my young grandsons the art of playing checkers without the aid of electronics, (so far grandpa is still king of the checkers board.)

The property is close enough to Colorado Springs so even inclement weather would not hamper a novice flat lander to attempt this trek with a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

We loved the stay and property and look forward to renting it again.

Advice: Follow GPS directions and do not adhere to street signs until you get to Chateau Vista Street signs, The others do not match directions.

Happy Friendsgiving!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second time renting this cabin and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend and myself, along with four of our closest friends, rented the cabin in order to celebrate Friendsgiving together. We had a lovely time and plan on renting the cabin again. We would like to thank house keeping for being so thoughtful of our stay that they supplied us with a roasting pan and a baster. Although we did not end up needing the roasting pan, the baster came in handy and we appreciated that they remembered we had inquired about the roasting prior to our trip. Every guest fell in love with the cabin and was very comfortable. We are routing that the owners find a solution to the fly issue however. Although they weren't initially intrusive as housekeeping was also nice enough to inform us of the issue, they became a nuisance by the second evening of our stay. This did not over shadow the beauty of the property, but it did however diminish it quite a bit. Also the jetted tub in the master could use some maintainance as dead leaves seemed to come through the jets making it unusable. Also they might consider moving the pooltable horizontally as some shots end up being impossible with its current position. Nevertheless this property is absolutely a wonderful value and experience. The deer surrounding the property visited us everyday of our trip. We even started referring to them as our dear(deer) friends. This cabin is so close to Colorado Springs that we were even able to take in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Broadmoor Arena during our stay. The owners and housekeeping are very nice people. The memories you make will last a life time. Every guest we had was absolutely amazed with their experience. This cabin is definitely a favorite. Thank you to all who allow others to experience wonderment. Happy Holidays! 🎄
