Dick and Kim Rogers
About Dick and Kim Rogers
Dick, is a retired Homicide detective. Kim is a retired corporate executive. We came to the Central Coast to farm organically. We did this for fifteen years and at the same time operated Hollyhock Farms Bed and Breakfast. We retired from all that and assumed the life of the fully retired. That didn't last long as we have a beautiful Bungalow that is just begging for visitors. So, we're back in the fold as a Vacation Rental.
Dick and Kim Rogers purchased this Bungalow in 1994
Why Dick and Kim Rogers chose Templeton
Back in the mid-ninties, We realized that the hustle and bustle of the city was wearing us out. The search was on. We visited virtually every county in the state. San Luis Obispo County won out. When we were operating the Bed and Breakfast, many of our guests marveled at how "complete"our lives had become and, not surprisingly, they took up the search and relocated to San Luis Obispo County. It is, simply put, Valhalla.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Take a look at the photos and say, Why Not? We are on a beautiful piece of land with views and sunsets that are superb. When we go to bed, there are no cars honking, no sirens and, no arguments next door.

A relaxing, beautiful location!
I had such a great time here! There wasn’t anything I needed, because everything was already in the home. From a hairdryer to coffee to fresh towels, you couldn’t ask for anything more! The home was very clean and cozy. The view was spectacular, and it was so nice to walk in to a bottle of red wine and a yummy dessert. I look forward to a return visit!
We so enjoyed our 3 days here. It had everything we were looking for. The location is amazing, providing expansive views of the hills, green at this time of year! The bungalow is situated so that you feel secluded. I could have lived on that porch! The interior is comfortable and clean, bathrooms are modern.
The hosts were very kind. Our car battery was dead the morning we were to leave. Kim offered us her car to get into town! That's going above and beyond!
We didn't want to leave and wished we could have stayed a couple more days. Definitely want to return!
A springtime of green hills and flowers
We stayed in Templeton in early April to go see the wildflowers bloom in Carrizo Plains and Shell Creek Rd. We found lovely green hills and hillsides of yellow and purple and blue within a few miles drive. It was great!. Comfy beds, friendly hosts, space for a dog, open green hill views from the deck, clean/well-kept house in a nice ranch land/ vineyard setting. A lot of fun. And not too far from the coast.
Charming Tranquility in Templeton
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness of this location. It was his birthday weekend and we were taking a break away from our 3 kids and my live-in father-n-law. The bungalow was classically decorated and offered lots of amenities. As one of the previous reviews mentioned, you notice the little touches of hospitality that set this vacation stay apart from the others- such as the fresh cookies and wine awaiting you after arrival from a long drive and the ready-stocked cuts of wood to build a cozy fire either inside or outside by the fireside. The location is perfectly situated to nearby wineries and restaurants but far enough to not feel the hustle and bustle of city life.
Lovely home out in country
The house was very welcoming having everything we needed for our stay. We were there with the almond trees in full bloom and it was beautiful.
Wonderful holiday at the Willow House!
We had a terrific time and really enjoyed our stay at the Willow House over the holidays. It is very easy to enjoy both the wine country and make trips to the ocean from there. The cottage is nicely decorated and enjoyable to relax in the afternoon or evenings, and it is very peaceful, quiet and private. The views from the deck are great. It was a little too cold to sit out on the deck or enjoy the outdoor area in the evenings when we were there, but we imagined this would be a nice spot to hang out with a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset during warmer seasons. The house was very clean and comfortable and the kitchen was stocked well enough for us to make a few morning and evening meals there. We only used the wood stove once, and found that it really made the house too hot, and was not necessary to be warm. The bathrooms were clean and modern, with room to place things during the stay. If you are used to a king size bed, neither bed in the cottage is a king, but the beds were fairly comfortable. It was a perfect size for 2 people, and 2 couples could also stay there pretty comfortably. Kim and Dick were really helpful with recommendations on where to shop for food (which is near the cottage), and they were very responsive to any questions. And, as others have mentioned, the bottle of wine and home baked cookies when we arrived were a nice touch! We would definitely recommend the Willow House.
