Spectacular apartment in the historic part of the city, by the beach.

Fully renovated 40 m2 apartment right in the middle of the village

Only 100 meters away from the beach, the famous Louis XIV square, the cafes and restaurants. Once on the front door, one immediately steps into the vibe and atmosphere of the old part of the town, with mostly pedestrianised streets.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a charming house, down town yet in a quiet environment. Very nice views on the ciy’s roofs and a green garden.

Large volumes. Very modern decoration including furniture and lighting from high-end Italian and French brands. Picasso copy paintings on the white walls. Wonderful light.

Main room with fully equipped kitchen (dish and clothes washers, micro waves oven, expresso machine…etc and sitting room area.

A very nice apartment for great holiday to remember.

Wonderful two weeks in a stylish apartment in beautiful St. Jean de Luz.

We stayed here two weeks in February and March 2016. Bertrand was very responsive to communications during the rental agreement process and even went out of his way to meet us late on a Saturday night to let us in. He is very personable and a pleasure to deal with.

The apartment is very comfortable and filled with colorful modern art. The living room has plenty of light and windows that open. The furniture is modern and stylish. The location is excellent. The front door opens to the main pedestrian shopping street with a bakery across the street. Lots of great shops, restaurants, hair salons. Small grocery stores are close. Everything you need is right out the front door yet the apartment is quiet as it faces a quiet street.We loved the daily covered market and other market days and in nearby towns.

We did not need a car during the two weeks. The train and bus station is less than a 10-minute walk and one can travel any direction easily, and cheaply for day trips or getting into or departing St Jean de Luz. (Biarritz, Bidart, Bayonne, Hendaye, San Sebastion, Sare etc.)

The beach is great for running or sunbathing. It was too cold to swim in February. We enjoyed the beautiful coastal trails between the towns and often ran the trail to a destination and took the bus back. Buy a 10 trip bus pass that can be shared and save $$.

There are no negatives about the apartment or location! Just a heads up, the apt. is up stairs about 60 steps and the furniture is low if getting up is an issue.

I’d recommend the apartment. It was always inviting to come back to after a day of adventure. We hope to come back when the water is warm to swim although the Thasssalotherapy spa was great!

Lovely apartment

As with the previous reviews, the apartment is lovely, tastefully decorated, bright and clean. Bertrand is very kind and welcoming - if you need anything he is available and has suggestions for places to visit so you can make your stay here even more enjoyable.

St. Jean de Luz is a mix of touristy and authentic so you can easily find both. Perfect for either a quiet holiday or one with shopping, restaurants and excellent day trips. The market here is wonderful.

The apartment is very well located on the pedestrian route and very close to the market. It is quiet at night with a lovely view of the sky over the village rooftops. The beaches are magnificent and in September the water is still lovely and warm for swimming and with the added bonus of very little crowds.

J'amais bien l'appartement de Bertrand - c'est propre, pratique et tres jolie. Bertrand est un hôte trés agréable. Il est aussi un peintre tres talentueux comme vous le verrez si vous louer cet tres beaux appartement.

Great location, authentic atmosphere

That was an all round pleasant and easy holiday, thanks to Bertrand's help and advice. The apartment is in the heart of the town and a half-minute walk to a secure parking, so you get both of being in a historic pedestrians-only centre and an easy access to your car.

The flat is not cluttered with stuff, that leaves enough space for your own belongings. At the same time it has a clean and tasteful personality, thanks to attention to details and bright (BDH signed!) paintings.

Highly recommended.

great apt., location, and owner!

my six year old daughter and I stayed here for a week in July. The apartment location could not have been better; town center, with an easy walk from the train station. Right out the door and you are in the heart of it all- food, shopping, the beach, the town square which had fabulous live music each night. The apartment was clean and quiet the owner was incredibly kind and helpful. Our only regret is that we had only a week! We hope to stay here again!

A lovely spot in St. Jean de Luz

We stayed in this apartment this June for one week. It was right in the center of the old section of St. Jean de Luz and yet it was quiet and peaceful. You have a lovely view of the surrounding roof-tops and hear the church bells at night and the kids in the school yard in the morning. The place has been recently renovated so everything was in good condition and nicely decorated with the owner's artwork . It is easy walking distance to restaurants and the beach and it was a great place to explore this lovely town and surrounding areas. The owner, Bertrand, was very responsive and easy to work with - we had no difficulty meeting up with him and making arrangements for the apartment - he was also responsive to all of our questions and made good suggestions regarding what to see in the area. It is on the 2nd floor (which means 3rd floor in the US) of an old building with no elevator so you need to be prepared for stairs. Also it is perfect for a couple or a single person - bathroom, kitchen and living room are good size for european standards. Would be happy to stay here again if in the area.

Best location First class amenity+a helpful owner

Helpful and Friendly owner Bertrand help us got a weekly parking 3 minutes away. The apartment was decorated with artistic taste and everything you see is of the highest quality including the TV, stereo, pots , pans, and dishes ,. This location is the best. While situating on the most excited street of Gambetta, it offered quietness too. 5 minutes walking to the beach for romantic sunset viewing and fine dinning. The entire Basque region is charming on both the French and Spanish sides. I highly recommend this place to anyone without reservation.
