About Susan Baudanza

We live on Cape in Marstons Mills, about 20 minutes from Dennis, with our horses, cats and parrots!

Susan Baudanza purchased this house in 1990

Why Susan Baudanza chose Dennis

We enjoyed living in his home for over 20 year and would have stayed had we not needed more room for our horses. We loved the quiet neighborhood, our neighbors, the lovely water view and the view into the woods from the kitchen 'bird watching window'.

What makes this house unique

A unique feature of this location is that it feels peaceful and rural but is close to Dennis village and the beaches . Bird watchers will love the large 'Bird Watching window' in the kitchen. It looks into the woods and over the deck, where orioles and hummingbirds are regular visitors

Wonderful Rental!

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely suggest renting this property! It is in the perfect location; secluded off the road, but also in close proximity to different towns and beaches.

Sue is a great renter to deal with, quick responses and available if you need anything. The house is fully stocked and very cute. The kitchen is perfect for nights in cooking, and the deck is perfect for morning coffee overlooking the pond!

Would definitely plan to rent again in the future, great vacation!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay! The quiet mornings and great birdwatching from the deck are two of our favorite aspects of the house. Many guests enjoy being near the restaurants and shopping in Dennis Village, but it seems that most also like to really relax and appreciate the peaceful surroundings. Thank you for choosing our house for your vacation and we hope you are able to visit again in the future!

Idyllic winter retreat

  • 5 of 5

I loved staying here, despite the record cold and snow. I needed a quiet and beautiful place to get some writing done, and this was perfect, although I imagine it's not so quiet in the middle of the summer! Susan was responsive and supremely helpful from first contact right through my departure, and always had a prompt and friendly answer to all my questions about the area. I enjoyed the very well stocked kitchen, and loved being able to watch the birds and admire the lake while I worked at the kitchen table. My dog felt welcome too, and that means a lot to me. Everything was comfy, clean and tidy, and I will go back again for my next project, hopefully when the wisteria are in bloom. Highly recommended!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay despite the unusually cold winter weather! The views of the pond and the birds visiting from the woods behind the house were two of my favorite things about the house when we lived there .I do hope that you are able to return when the wisteria blooms over the pergola I planted that many years ago; it took several years to begin to bloom but was worth the wait! Glad to hear that your dog enjoyed the visit as well and look forward to hearing from you when you are able to visit again! Sue

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

From my initial inquiry on the property, I just knew this was THE rental perfect for a little getaway with 2 of my friends & my dog. Sue was such a pleasure to work with & always replied to e-mails in a timely manner, even during our stay! I was fortunate enough to have rented this home for a partial week due to other renter's schedule's and I only wish my work schedule allowed me longer! Arriving at 1am on a Sunday night (Monday morning!) we pulled up to the outside light being on for us as well as an interior. Very thoughtful! To me, it was extremely worth the 1.5hr drive after work to be able to wake up in the morning and already be on vacation. I am not a typical morning person, but these 4 days, I sure was! The back deck was surely amazing and perfect for enjoying the sounds of nature & watching the early sun rise. Nyla (my dog) and I enjoyed neighborhood walks where everyone was extremely friendly. We visited Flax Pond daily where she swam on her own for the first time! Other dog owners were cheering us on! Mayflower Beach was stunning! It was a great week for low tides so it was perfect timing to spend the entire day, freshen up, then go out to a neighboring town for activities! Cape Cod Beer Brewery made it on our list followed by exploring downtown Hyannis which was very welcoming. The home itself is obviously well taken care of. It is home away from home. Towels, Linens, Cookware, etc. all provided - What more could you ask for? Washer/Dryer.. they have that too! I could go on & on about how comfortable I was from start to finish renting from Sue and Paul and I hope to do it again in the future! THANK YOU!

Owner's Response: Thank you Lauren! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay! The peacefulness of the back deck with all of our visiting hummingbirds and orioles is something we treasure about the house as well! As you say, it is also a very friendly neighborhood for strolling and relaxing. So glad too that Nyla enjoyed swimming in the pond, I would say that is a highlight for visiting dogs! We are so glad you found us and hope that you will be able to return sometime for a longer stay! Have a wonderful rest of the summer, Sue and Paul

Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

It was a pleasure working with Sue for the reservation. She provided all the details needed and always replied quickly. Paul was also wonderful in calming us down and giving us directions when we got lost - thanks !!!! The house is beautiful! The kitchen was so much fun to cook in. The back deck was private and we loved watching the birds. Comfortable bed and house was fully stocked but still plenty of room to put our own stuff. The pond was cold - but refreshing - went in twice! Looking forward to a return visit. Valerie, Julie and Dewey

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you had a nice time and enjoyed the house! Our "birdwatching deck" was always our favorite spot when we lived there, especially during hummingbird and oriole "visiting" season. We hope you have a chance to return soon! Sue and Paul

Spring getaway

  • 5 of 5

This property was exactly what we wanted! Central location on the cape, close enough to explore all we wanted, but removed enough to enjoy our week away. Wish our weather was a little better to enjoy the back deck and the view!

Fantastic Fall Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Many thanks to Susan and Paul, who provided a terrific place for my two dogs and me to vacation right at the peak of the Cape's foliage season. They were gracious, helpful, accommodating hosts, setting a relaxing tone for our stay. The property is perfect for a small group, such as mine. The neighborhood is quiet, perfect for morning walks with the dogs, and the trails behind the house and circling the pond were wonderful (just check for ticks when you're done). The house is comfortable, well-stocked with equipment and supplies, and the kitchen was surprisingly spacious. Being right in the middle of the Cape made everything accessible, another big plus. A terrific experience my dogs and I hope to repeat next year!
