Experience Venice from the coolness, peace, and tranquility of the Lido. Spend your mornings on its spotless sandy beaches, or biking the island’s 12 km length and spend the afternoon discovering the glories of Venice.
Located behind the Grand Hotel Des Bains, and a few meters from the beach, this four bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment is ideal for families or couples who enjoy sports as well as culture. Perfectly situated for the Venice film festival, the Biennale (5 min by vaporetto boat), and Piazza San Marco (10 min. by vaporetto boat). This elegant apartment is on the ground floor of a 1920s villa that used to be the Villa Marina hotel.
The apartment was completely renovated in 2010 and tastefully furnished. In addition to a large living room, there is one room with a king-sized bed, one bedroom with two twin beds (these rooms share a master bathroom with large shower). On the other side of the living room there is another bedroom with twin beds (that can be joined to make a king-sized bed) and ensuite bathroom (with shower), and a study with a queen sized sofa bed with ensuite bathroom (with bath tub) -- such a layout makes this an ideal location for two families wanting privacy. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The garden is large, and the terrace is an ideal place for al fresco dining. The garden can also be accessed from the garden gate, which provides parking for one car, if requested.

Comfortable apartment in a great location.
Comfortable apartment (4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, terrace) well located between the beaches and the vaporetti stop and central area with shops and restaurants. Adequate facilities, well furnished, pleasant encounter with the nice lady who runs the apartment (Flavia). Only one minor drawback - we felt the apartment was a little unkempt - needs an overall thorough cleaning, including all the nooks and crannies, esp. in the kitchen and bathrooms. But we are very pleased with our stay and ready to consider returning one day!
We are happy you enjoyed your stay at Villa Marina and may consider returning in the future. Sorry that you were disappointed by the the level of cleanliness and will let our maid know. We did have a replacement the week you came and she might not have been as thorough as our regular lady.
Did not disappoint!
We stayed at this villa with no regrets! Perfect setting and location. Few blocks from the beach and just a few minutes to the water bus to get you to Central Venice. Beautifully-maintained garden to spend morning breakfasts and de-stressing from an eventful day. Neat and inviting. Will surely come back!
It's been a pleasure to have you here. We are glad that you and your family have appreciated the villa :-) Ciao!
We stayed at the Villa Marina at the end of June 2013 and had a wonderful time. The apartment was spotlessly clean, bright, spacious and well equipped. The garden was larger than we expected and was in the sun until about 3.00 p.m. in the afternoon. The terrace had a large table where we had our evening meals and there was an electric awning for shelter if required.
Flavia, the manager, was extremely welcoming and very helpful. She made sure we knew our way around, and also made suggestions for visits to Venice and the islands and told us where the local Tuesday market was held.
Venice is only a short journey away on the waterbus which stops only a ten minute walk from the apartment. Venice was even more beautiful than we remembered and we went early at 9.00am before all the day tours arrived, then came back in the afternoon to relax on the Lido.
The location of the apartment is ideal, only a few minutes from the free beach ( Blue Moon complex) and not far from the local shops and large supermarket. The best restaurant we tried was Restaurant Andri , just a couple of minutes walk away. If you’d like to try the local wine there is a great wine shop just along from the Restaurant Andri where you can buy a reusable litre bottle and fill it up from vats of local wine – Cabernet Franc and Pinot Nero are particularly recommended!
We would not hesitate to recommend the Villa Marina and can honestly say this is one of the best holidays we’ve had. We hope to return next year as there is still so much to see and do.
Best wishes to Flavia and thanks very much for all your help.
Impeccable in every way
It's hard to imagine a better place to spend a few days, or a few weeks, in Venice than in this fabulous ground floor apartment in the Villa Marina just a block or two off the famous Lido beach. We stayed there in mid June and would absolutely pick it again when we return to Venice. First, the Lido is a classic throughback to fin de siecle Europe, and far more mellow than staying in Venice proper. The walk from the vaparetto station takes about eight minutes, and the ride into Venice proper takes no time. The Lido is itself so attractive that we ended up spending nearly half our time there, running on the beach, swimming, bike riding, eating out, shopping for food to bring back. As for the apartment, it was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It is a spacious, airy, sunny apartment with its own veranda for dining and an enclosed, well-kept garden. When we ate on the veranda you could hear the laughter of other people eating al fresco, and bikes whizzing by, but not much else. The arrangement and size of the rooms makes it perfect for multiple couples or two families. When we arrived, Flavia the housekeeper was there to greet us with a smile. It also turns out that Flavia, herself a native of the Lido, is a charming guide to the wonders of Venice. We spent three fabulous hours under her tutelage in and around Piazza San Marco on our first morning there. Can't speak too highly about this apartment at the Villa Marina, or our time with Flavia.
The perfect way to see Venice
This lovely home is the perfect way to see Venice. You are five minutes away from the Lido beach which is perfect for adults and children and a five minute walk to the main part of the Lido, with cafes and shops. Take the vaporetto and you are in central Venice in 10 minutes. The home is comfortable and clean with nice bedrooms and newly renovated bathrooms. The terrace is perfect for outdoor dining and the garden is great for the kids. TV and internet are provided as well. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and will definitely return!
The perfect way to visit Venice
We chose Villa Marina for our most recent trip to Venice with our children and another family, and it was in every way the perfect choice. The house is spacious and very well appointed, and has a wonderful garden where we dined out and the children played. The location is excellent - just 5 minutes from the most beautiful beach (where, to the children's delight, we could rent pedalo boats outfitted with a slide) and 10 minutes to shops, restaurants and the vaporetto, which takes you, in just 10 more minutes, right to St. Mark's Square, the gardens of the Biennale, and the heart of Venice. The bikes at our disposal were an added bonus with which we made quick trips to buy food and explored the Lido's lovely neighborhoods. And there's nothing like hopping on the vaporetto after an evening in Venice and heading home across the darkened lagoon under a full moon! Villa Marina's property manager speaks excellent English and was a gold mine of information about Venice, both historical and practical. She organized a truly memorable day-long outing on the lagoon in a traditional boat called a "bragozzo" that took us to rarely-visited islands and to places where we could jump right off the boat for a swim. To see Venice from its lagoon in this way was an incredible privilege. Staying on the Lido is an ideal way to visit Venice, particularly in the summer, or with children in tow. Splitting your day between the beach and the treasures of "La Serenissima" guarantees that everyone has a perfect holiday . This is the second time we have stayed on the Lido, and have concluded that it's the best way to go!
