Ideal for beach and countryside. Just right for a family and those looking for a peaceful holiday.

Privately owned and managed house with personal service - no agencies!

The south-west facing house is in the small, private and gated, Montmar community at Torre Vella on a wooded hillside mid-way between the old market town of Torroella de Montgri and the seaside village of L’Estartit.

The first floor has a living area which opens onto a terrace with superb mountain views, and there is a separate dining area, open-plan ‘American’ style kitchen, and twin bedroom and shower room/toilet at the rear. On the second floor, the front double bedroom has access to a large, private, terrace, and there is a twin bedroom and further bathroom to the rear.

The private rear garden has a gate providing direct access to the Muntaya Gran national park, offering many kilometres of walks, whilst the swimming pool is at the front,. At ground level there is a large garage (which visitors may use) equipped with a washing machine and utility sink.

The swimming pool (with separate toddler pool) is exclusive to the 14 houses of the Montmar community. There is no charge for use.

All bed linen and towels, along with weekly cleaning, are included in the rental price displayed.

Home from Home in the Costa Brava

This villa is obviously someone's home. It is furnished and equipped to a very good standard. The area is very attractive and the views are lovely. From our first contact with Tracy to the return of our deposit we were pleased with the efficiency and ease of our rental.

We received a very warm welcome from Sue the local contact who was very helpful in all matters.

The Costa Brava is full of interesting and beautiful places to visit with something new to do every day. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to repeat the experience in the future.

Super holiday home in wonderful region

Attractive, spacious and very well equipped house in a unique position backing onto open countryside. Very pleasant private road with well maintained and enticing pool. We were thrilled when we arrived to find the house exactly as described only better! Very clean and well maintained. Kitchen spotless and seemed brand new! We were welcomed by the very friendly Sue who was full of information about places to see and things to do. We spent a very happy 2 weeks discovering stunning beaches, medieval towns and hiking in the beautiful countryside from the back garden. I would highly recommend this property to couples and families.

Lovely Villa for a relaxing Holiday

My Wife and I escaped to this lovely Villa for 10 days in June 2011 to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary, we could not have picked a better place to stay near L’Estartit and a 30 minute drive to Begur, two of our favourite places in this part of Spain.

The Villa was spotless throughout with spacious rooms, a lovely living room with double windows leading onto the balcony overlooking the pool area and great views of the surrounding area. We enjoyed warm nights chilling out on the balcony to peace and quiet and a glass of Wine with good food bought locally. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want on Holiday and as a keen cook to my Wife she was very grateful, local shops, restaurants and bars nearby were also fantastic.

The Owners and their staff in Spain are very professional and could not have been more helpful and we were very well looked after.

A car is important in this part of Spain as there is so much to do and see. We drove from the UK taking the overnight ferry from Plymouth to Santander and had a very pleasant drive across Spain which took us about 6 hours to reach the Costa Brava passing Barcelona which is about a 40 minute drive from L’Estartit.

I highly recommend and would definitely go again

Luxury, but not too much...

Perfect place for a family holiday. Nice, clean and quiet area and ideal location. Property was in very good condition, clean and fully equipped. Customer service was top class. Montmar is an excellent choice, no doubt about it!

Wonderful house, wonderful area!

We stayed for 2 weeks in April/May 2010. The house is amazingly well kept and has just had a newly fitted kitchen too. Everything you need is supplied, and with the rear garden, front terrace, top balcony and pool area, there is always a different place to go whilst in the house! We loved the surrounding medieval villages with the old cobbled streets. There are some great walks through these towns, villages, coastline and the woodland out the back of the house.

We ate out most lunch times as there are so many lovely restaurants. A car is a must - we actually drove from the UK, and seemed to take no time at all, staying overnight in France on the way.

Weather in May was generally sunny and pleasent, but a few drops of rain.

Not too close, not too far!

An excellent property just fifteen minutes drive from the restaurents and beaches of L'Estartit, but even closer to a Lidel's!!!! But seriously this house is a quiet relaxing spot with wonderful views backing on to woodlands with some great walks. The place was spotless, well appointed and the owners couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions of places to visit. It is an easy 45 minute drive from Girona airport. The surrounding villages are a delight with their cafes and markets. Barcelona is not too far for a day trip. (You could even take the train locally).

L’Estartit, with beaches, shops, and marina, is three kms away, whilst the pleasures of the Catalunya countryside – with mediaeval towns and villages – are in easy reach. Many of the nearby villages have weekly markets, and the area is renowned for its fine cuisine. This is Salvador Dali country: with the museum dedicated to the artist at Figueres, his house at Port Ligat, and Gala Dali castle at Pubol, all within an hour’s drive. Empuries, 20kms away near L'Escala, is the site of ancient Greek and Roman settlements. Barcelona and Girona are not far, and a day’s trip to the Pyrenees or France is also a possibility.

The house backs onto the Muntaya Gran area, offering many kilometres of walks – including direct access to the GR 92 national path, which follows a trail through much of northern Catalunya.

L’Estartit is central to a marine reserve which includes the Isles Medes, and offers some of the best sub-aqua diving in Spain, and there are several top-class golf courses nearby.

Golf: There are several top-class golf courses within a half hours drive, particularly: Golf Pitch and Put Gualta (18 holes, 250m driving range, lessons from English speaking professionals, and described as 'ideal for beginners') and Emporda Golf (par 71, 6,800 yds) near Torroella, Serres de Pals (par 72, 6,800yds) near Pals town, and Platja de Pals (par 73, 6,842yds) at Pals beach. Emporda Golf is used as a European Tour Qualifier, whilst Platja de Pals has hosted the Spanish Open and is described as the 'Wentworth of Catalunya'.
