Right On The Beach!
This uniquely located home offers breathtaking ocean views on one side and picturesque marsh/harbor views on the other. Swimming, fishing, boating, walks on the beach, BBQ’s.... The perfect house for multiple families.
Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the beautiful sunrise from the porch swing on the oversized deck. Sun drenched wrap around deck is child safe; a portion of which is covered, offering a shady spot on hot summer days. The Master Bedroom offers it's own private deck.
Savor a glass of wine on the deck, while watching the sunset over the quiet marsh side of the home, basking in the western exposure sunlight. Scituate Harbor, bustling with shops, resturants and amenities, is just a short walk away!
Short drive to Plymouth harbor and historic Plymouth Rock. Enjoy local bike path. Boating and fishing excursions available in Scituate Harbor and Plymouth. Commuter rail train access to Boston is just 5 minutes away.
We've rented properties in Scituate before. This one was the best ever. Great beach access to the less-crowded area of Peggotty. Great for the kids (toy trucks made it up and down the beach several times, hunting little crabs at low tide). Chairs, toys, and beach towels provided. Great porch for socializing/reading/noshing. Friendly and fun neighbors. Beautiful salt marsh behind with herons, egrets, and other local wildlife. Easy access to the Villiage Market for groceries and other shopping / dining opportunities. Who needs Cape Cod?
Scituate is a lovely little New England harbor town with lots of charm and the Blake’s home on Peggotty Beach was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy our summer vacation this year. The house was comfortable and homey and the owners provided many thoughtful amenities. It was well-maintained and very clean upon our arrival. The wrap-around deck was a fantastic place to sip coffee in the morning, relax with a book, or sway on the porch swing while watching boats or paddle-boarders go by. The gas grill and outdoor dining table made it easy to enjoy meals outside, too. The house is located right on the beach, but down the road a bit from the public section of the beach, so it was not crowded at all. The kids enjoyed the boogie boards and the adults enjoyed the beach chairs that were provided by the owners. The home was also large enough that everyone could spread out to watch TV, play board games, or take a nap when not hanging out on the beach. The kids, especially, loved using the outdoor shower, which is totally private and a great place to rinse off the sand and shampoo the salt water out of your hair. The home’s location was walking distance to Scituate harbor and was conveniently located for making day trips to the Cape and Boston. Thank you to the Blake family for opening your home to us!
This beach house offers it all - there's plenty of room for multi generational families to enjoy time together at the beach. The Blake family provides all the amenities like chairs, towels, boogie boards, and beach toys to make the stay at Peggotty Beach fun and easy. Our kids loved playing in the marsh at low tide or paddle boarding on the North River at high tide. The ocean kept them equally as busy boogie boarding, skim boarding and kayaking. The house was spotless upon arrival and had everything
available from linens and towels to shampoo and laundry detergent. The Blake family was a pleasure to work with. Although this property is listed as a 3 bedroom house, it is more like a 4 bedroom home because they have a set of bunk beds tucked into a nook in the tv room. The kids loved it!
It is my job to organize the annual family reunion, gathering relatives from all over the country to get together for a week in the summer. The Blake House was a perfect setting for our celebration. The house is prettier than the pictures and the location is so incredible....set between the ocean and the marsh, the constant breeze was perfect for spending hours on the decks overlooking the ocean or the marsh. It was so comfortable to be outside and the choices were many, in the sun or the shade, and we all enjoyed the porch swing. The house is immaculate and there is so much space and it is so very comfortable. Plenty of room to relax and stretch out....and we never felt like we were tripping over one another, even when 10 of us were gathered around the kitchen table. It was so wonderful to meet the Blake Family upon my arrival and get a guided tour of all the amenities of the home. Everything you can imagine is available...tons of beach towels and beach chairs, plenty of paper products and soaps and shampoo. The bottle of wine was such a nice touch and the binder with all kinds of local info was very helpful. We mostly enjoyed relaxing around the house during the days, strolling the beach, paddle boarding on the ocean, and kayaking the river in the marsh. We found several great places to eat in Scituate Harbor, which was actually within a comfortable walking distance....and so picturesque. The Mill Wharf was a favorite, more upscale dining experience, and TKO'Malley's was great for more casual fair. There is plenty to do in the area if you are so inclined....but the house is so comfortable and between the beach in front and the marsh behind, we didn't feel the need to stray very far. And at night, the waves lull you to sleep and it was so wonderful to wake in the morning to the birds and the soft motoring of the fishing and lobster boats. Though it is on a popular beach, it is so very peaceful and quiet. It was a truly wonderful week in a truly wonderful home !!!
Our family had a wonderful week in this home. It was roomy and everyone had a wonderful place to
sleep. The house is well maintained and the family that owned the place made everything beautiful
for us. It is a vacation we will remember for a long time
Our family vacation was perfect. This house has everything our family of 4, plus Grandma and Grandpa needed. Everything is in walking distance, food, CVS for those things we forgot & quaint shops. The outside shower, views from every window and decks are the best part of this house. I loved that I could get lunch/dinner ready in the kitchen and could see the family out on the deck and swinging. I would totally recommend to a family.
