Welcome to The Gateway Cottage! Our beautiful privately owned upscale 1765 sf "cottage" is situated at above 7000' altitude in a natural setting on a peaceful acre of cool pines in Northern Arizona. Slow down and enjoy the serenity of the forest, and the clean, fresh air on an acre of land, the kids will love the swingset. Our home is located just minutes east of Williams, "the Gateway to the Grand Canyon", where you will find plenty of shopping for most anything you need. It's an easy 45 minute/60 mile drive to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and with Flagstaff 25 minutes and Sedona an hour away, this is a great central location!! Hunting and fishing, hiking and off road trails are all nearby. Our home has 2 KING bedrooms and 2 full baths, plus a sleeping loft with one QUEEN bed and one TWIN bed, and downstairs is a QUEEN sleeper sofa. We do furnish a pack-n-play crib, high chair and booster seat for the tiny guests. We can comfortably accommodate up to 9 adult guests (additional fees for 8th and 9th guests may apply). We're sorry, as a courtesy to homeowners/guests with allergies, WE DO NOT HOST PETS OR SERVICE/ESA OF ANY KIND, but, we do welcome adults, children and hunters!
See the stars through the skylights from the new king size bed in the master and the new queen bed in the loft. Both king bedrooms have a tv and dvd player, first floor bedroom has a vcr as well, and an assortment of vhs and dvd movies. The fully stocked kitchen includes everything you need, bring your groceries and make a simple or gourmet meal. The laundry room includes linens and towels. Outside relaxation on the deck, the fire pit area or the front porch. There is a land line (phone) in house for local calls. We now have super fast STARLINK INTERNET!! Fun activities (winter and summer) are nearby, including the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Grand Canyon Railway/Polar Express, Bearizona, the Deer Farm and Canyon Coaster Adventure Park, as well as museums, observatories and outdoor recreation such as fishing, hiking, skiing, sledding and more. This home will not disappoint you! Check in is after 4pm and checkout is before 11:00 am.

Perfect Stay

Very clean, love the neighborhood. Quiet and peaceful! My boys loved playing in the yard and on the playset out back. Very comfortable and everything we needed was available. Host was very accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely perfect place to unwind and explore the beautiful surroundings! The house is a perfect cabin in the woods! Beautifully decorated and has a well-stocked kitchen! Everything you could want for a family vacation! Friendly, helpful hosts!

Great Property & Location

This property is in a nicely wooded area. We loved the cabin feel inside. Everything was super clean and we had plenty of room. The location is great too. Easy drives to lots of popular northern Arizona attractions from the Grand Canyon to Sedona to Flagstaff to Montezuma's Castle/Well to Meteor Crater. Would definitely stay here again!

Escobar Family snow trip

Upon arrival we immediately where in awwww beautiful cabin, quick entry as soon as we opened the door we knew our stay was going to be great. Our kids enjoyed everything about it from the views to all the amenities it offered. Well equipped from kitchen to every single room. We will definitely return in the summer!! Til next time

Darrel & Merrie met in Williams & have been married 50 years. They have 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren. Merrie grew up in the area, and has always called it "home", she loves the mountains, pines and the quiet pace of the location.

Por que motivo escolheu este alojamento?

We purchased the acre of land in 2002 and dreamed of the day we would see our cabin there on the property. We sketched our vision, took the drawings to a draftsman who drew the plans. We sub-contracted the construction beginning in 2005, and it was 100% hands on for us, doing much of the work ourselves. The home was (for the most part) completed in 2007. There was no intention of renting our home at that time, but with the economy crunch in 2009, we made the choice to share our home as a vacation rental, rather than selling it, which would have crushed us. We have enjoyed the process, and have been doing some finishing touches and updates along the way. A fresh coat of interior paint, new drapes and rug, a new microwave, a 4K UHD tv in the lower bedroom, updated Dishnet Hopper satellite system are a few of the changes made since the first of this year (2019.) We are confident you will enjoy the property, and make many happy memories there. PLEASE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THOSE WITH ALLERGIES, DO NOT BRING A PET/ESA/SERVICE ANIMAL TO OUR HOME.

Quais são os elementos especiais deste alojamento?

There is a peacefulness you'll feel when staying at our home, and the proximity to the Grand Canyon, Williams, Bearizona, The Grand Canyon Railway, Flagstaff and Sedona makes our home perfect for daily outings taking in all the sites. We enjoy taking the family to the cabin to enjoy the cool weather in summer. The smell of the pines, relaxing around the fire pit and taking walks in the forest, along with the occasional sightings of the deer, elk, antelope among other critters in the area are a welcome change of pace. The Kaibab squirrels that live in the neighborhood enjoy the handouts and are very entertaining. Winters are beautiful with the fresh snow, sledding and holidays with spiced cider, hot chocolate and popcorn we provide. Christmas in Williams is a sight to see, with the lighting of the huge Christmas tree, and boarding the Polar Express is a joy for the kiddies, young and old. Bearizona Wildlife Park and The Deer Farm are a must see, near Williams, only a few miles away. (Sorry, we do not host pets, including service animals, in consideration of those with allergies).
