The apartment was better than advertised.
The Annecy apartment was excellent; great location, professionally decorated, modern appliances, close to stores and old town Annecy, parking across the street and a fabulous view of the lake, the mountains and the town. Patrick was an excellent host and walked us through the apartment and local amenities.
Truly Memorable Experience
We feel privileged to have stayed in Patrick's extraordinary, all glass penthouse for nine weeks this summer. Everything about this living space was perfect. The views of the Alps and Lake Annecy. The few minute walk to the lake and town center. The Apartment is beautifully appointed, and the kitchen is compact and ideal for cooking simple meals. There is a major supermarket only 2 streets away and a Saturday market only a 2 minute stroll from the apartment. At one point there was a 2 week heatwave. When we mentioned to Patrick that it was hot, he immediately delivered and installed a portable air conditioner, which solved the problem. We loved this apartment and intend to return soon. The apartment is absolutely stunning - small, but perfectly formed.
We chose this apartment as we liked its location and because the view looked incredible. However, on arrival we noted that the view wasn't quite as shown on the images...no, it was even better. The mountains and the beautiful hues of Lake Annecy seemed close enough to touch - and the imposing Basilica Of The Visitation stood with a regal charm visible from every window in the living room.
The interiors of Xavier's apartment are finished to the highest standard with beautiful period furnishings alongside wonderful aesthetic flourishes that accentuate the minutiae of the apartment perfectly. The bathroom is home to a delightful, large bath and a perfectly suitable sink, while the bedroom is light with plenty of views onto the surrounding mountains. The kitchen, though small, is well appointed with good equipment and more than enough utensils for even the most demanding of cooks - and again - the view from the kitchen is splendid. There's more than enough storage space for even a long stay (we stayed for several months) and there's plenty of wardrobe space to pack in winter clothes should you need them.
We spent many a night drinking Savoie wine on the balcony watching the sun as it made its way east for the evening - casting the most deeply romantic glow upon the lake - and though hot when the sun is shining, the balcony is also a perfect place for lunch. We've spent a lot of time in Annecy and around the various villages of the lake, but there are few better memories than those we acquired whilst staring out to the scenery just beyond the windows of this beautiful, charming apartment. We will undoubtedly return.
The apartment is within very easy reach of the old town of Annecy, the train station, a number of bus stops, and several markets. The provided bikes are great for cycling around the lake - and also for shorter trips through town should you need. There are a number of Boulangeries close by, a dry cleaning service, several great cafes and at least one good sushi restaurant - all within a few minutes walking distance..and it takes 5-10 minutes to reach the side of the lake and the old town.
As for the landlord Xavier, he provided very good customer service throughout and was perfectly pleasant and amenable.

Beautiful apartment in a perfect location
The perfect location, a two minute walk from the lake, shopping, etc...but just enough distance to enjoy a quiet night at home, and trust me I felt very much at home in this apartment. Perched on the top floor of a very nice and quiet apartment complex, the balcony affords the perfect place to kick back and enjoy the views and sunshine. The apartment has everything you need and more, including two bikes that are kept downstairs in a locked space. The apartment is in outstanding condition, both in cleanliness and the very chic style. Everything from the decor, the lighting, to the views are perfect. I stayed for three weeks and I contemplated trying to buy it, I certainly wish I had stayed longer and if all goes well I will be back next year. My wife loved it too, it's the perfect romantic getaway. Patrick, the owner, is a really great guy. Check in was easy and once he gave me the general overview he was gone and we were left alone to enjoy our stay. With that said, if there was anything we needed he was quick to help out, wether a cable channel blackout or a forgotten key, again he's a really nice guy and was very fair during checkout. If you plan on inviting 20 people to party all night long it's not the place for you. But if you are single or a couple you cannot go wrong. I look forward to returning.
( By the way we are a couple in our forties, very active, cooked our evening meal 50 percent of the time, was asleep by 12:30 most nights, used the bikes daily, washed clothes every other day or so, used the Internet all day long, watched French TV, parked our car on the side street under the balcony, all with no issues). Great views from every window!
Sophisticated french design with all the amenities and comforts of home! Immaculately clean. The great room has five large windows with views of the lake and the old town. The queen bed is comfortable with quality sheets, down pillows and duvet, two house robes, hairdryer, and the closets have plenty of hangers and room for storage. Xavier provided excellent service the three weeks we were in Annecy. I highly recommend this apartment. We enjoyed riding bikes around the lake, hiking, shopping the markets, visiting Talloires, Col de la Forclaz, Geneva, Yvoire, and Lyon. Xavier's restaurant recommendations were very accurate. A deposit of 500€ will be request at your arrival . We would like to remind you that "L’ Apartment d’Hôtes" is non-smoking, that pets are not allowed and that it was designed for a single person or a childless couple. Arrival time is between 4pm and 6pm, departure at 10 am. May be possible around 2 pm ( has to be confirm) No night service for handing over keys. We will send you a rental contract, to be returned as soon as possible dated and signed to confirm your reservation.
