The original 1930’s Cliff May spanish courtyard home was tastefully remodeled to provide for comfortable family living and all the modern conveniences. This home offers 5 bedrooms and 3.25 baths in over 3600 square feet on an over-sized lot. You are within easy walking/biking distance of the golf course, the bay, the yacht club, the Hotel Del and one of the top 10 beaches in the world.
The first floor features a formal living area with baby grand piano, formal dining room, family room/kitchen, laundry, powder, 4th bedroom (queen) and 5th bedroom (queen). The first floor surrounds and opens to a private courtyard with a bbq, outdoor dining and outdoor fireplace. Throw open four pairs of french doors to enjoy indoor/outdoor courtyard living.
The open family room/kitchen is accented by an island bar, breakfast/game table, fireplace and tv/dvd/stereo with surround sound. The gourmet kitchen has a 6-burner stove, double convection ovens, microwave, bosch dishwasher, built-in refrigerator w/ice-maker, warming drawer and wine refrigerator. Two pairs of french doors lead to the private backyard pool/spa area which has ample deck seating for sunning. Next to the pool is outdoor seating and a fire-pit table. The spa has an overflow waterfall into the pool. The pool features beautiful glasstile and an automated cover.
The ornate spanish tile stairs with custom wrought-iron railings lead to the second floor and a loft/office area. The loft area includes a tv, computer and small pull out sofa bed. The computer has broadband internet access and wi-fi. Two additional bedrooms (both queens) and the master suite (king) round out the second floor.
The large master bedroom includes a comfortable sitting area, tv/stereo, wet bar/ref, fireplace and small balcony overlooking the pool. The master bath features a claw-foot bathtub, marble shower/steam room and separate toilet room, overlooking the courtyard and the beautiful pine trees on margarita avenue.
Dual zone air-conditioning on first and second floor (except bedrooms 4&5); ceiling fans in all the bedrooms. Triple zone heating.
This home is well-located to provide an excellent home base for all your activities. Located on one of the quietest streets in coronado (off the grid) you can easily find rest and relaxation. On island you will find many great restaurants, lambs player’s theater and the just reopened coronado vintage movie theater—all an easy bike or walk for you or the kids. Treat yourself to a day at the world famous hotel del coronado spa. Rent a kayak or jet ski in beautiful glorietta bay or check out the fitness club/gymnasium/rock climbing wall at the new city recreation center. Be sure and attend the concerts with your favorite picnic in spreckels park on sunday evenings during the summer.
If you want to go off-island, catch the ferry for downtown shopping at horton plaza and seaport village or to take a tour of the midway aircraft carrier. Grab a water taxi to a padres game at petco park or make the short drive to the san diego zoo and balboa park museums. Other adventures might include sea world, legoland, wild animal park or a train ride up to spend the day in disneyland. Located only a quick 10-12 minutes from the airport.
On the fourth of july coronado becomes the patriotic center of san diego. Bike to the parade and concert and then walk across the street to the golf course to catch the evening fireworks.

My wife and I both grew up in small towns in the Midwest. Coronado village reminds us of our childhood with its small town atmosphere and friendly neighbors. Yet in addition to that it has all the amenities of a major vacation destination. It has been a great place to raise kids with the ability to walk or bike to school and anywhere you need to go. The weather here is unbeatable. Even though we spend more and more time at another property we have in the mountains we will always have a place in our hearts for Coronado.

Great space for a family reunion! We felt so at home in Kent and Toni's beautiful home. There is so much space in the back of the home with the kitchen being the center of the universe (makes Mom happy). The tv/hangout area, pool, and courtyard are all in view (and earshot) of the kitchen which makes the house feel huge, and you don't miss anything if you're preparing meals for everyone. That said, there's also plenty of space to wander off for privacy and peace and quiet. The perfect combination in my book! We loved using the bikes, and the central location was ideal. Thanks again for a great time!
Our family from London came to San Diego for the first time.
We had great communication with Toni & Kent from our initial booking all the way through to our last day.
We have previously rented similar properties in other parts of California & Canada - the big difference with this was that we were dealing directly with the owners and not with agents. Kent & Toni shared their home with us and really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - from Beach towels to boogie boards. They helped us navigate a new city, providing us with tips and were always available to answer questions by text message or on the phone.
The property has a great location on a quiet but centrally located part of Coronado. It's less than 5 minutes from everything on the Island, including beaches, hotels and restaurants. It is also very convenient to get to Downtown - we frequently visited Balboa Park - it was a less than 15 minutes in the car, even at peak times.
The house itself was perfect for us and our two young children - the house has 5 double bedrooms, so could easily accommodate 8-10 guests. We spent some days just hanging out at the house.
The property is tastefully designed and most importantly everything worked - from the lovely powerful showers, to the steam room and most importantly for us the wonderful swimming pool and spa.
If you are looking for minimalist modern design then this is probably not the right place for you - but if you are looking for a well designed homely vacation experience for all the family, then I would highly recommend.
The well-equipped kitchen area has all the appliances you would expect as well as any utensils you may need- it has a big marble dining top and a sitting room attached which leads directly onto the pool - this is where we spent most of our time.
In addition, there are other seating and dining areas if anyone required more privacy or a more formal setting.
They have cable TV and huge screen- and access to Netflix. The Wifi was also fast and had good coverage throughout the house and by the pool.
Our kids enjoyed playing in the garden, which has a basketball net.
The master bedroom is huge and has a large bathroom with tub and steam room attached. The other bedrooms and bathrooms are well equipped and well sized.
The house has central air conditioning.
We can't wait to visit again and I cannot speak highly enough of the property and our hosts.

This home offers a family everything for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Located a few blocks from Orange Avenue and the Del, the home is close to the action but still in a quiet neighborhood.
Peaceful courtyard for coffee and cocktails as well as a heated pool /spa.

Our family stayed in this home for a week in June of this year. We had a lovely time. We were
all very comfortable, and enjoyed the swimming pool, bikes, and beach items. It was a perfect
house for the six of us. The neighborhood is fantastic. We walked everywhere, or our grandchildren
rode their bikes and loved it! My husband and I enjoyed the early morning hours of coffee in the courtyard and the peace and quiet that surrounded us. Kent and Toni made this a memorable stay for our family.
This home was the perfect way to accommodate 4 families (grandparents and 3 sons and their wives/families).
The 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom on the ground floor are perfect for those who want privacy and do not wish to go up stairs.
The 2-story addition with the Master and other 2 bedrooms and 2 baths is the place for younger families to stay with the kids. A loft at the landing of the stairs is a good place to play video games or catch up on emails at the computer desk.
The main living space with open concept Great Room/Kitchen with extended island was more than adequate to accommodate all of us for casual meals. The adults enjoyed the formal dining room for several dinners, while the younger ones ate at the "kiddie table" in the breakfast nook. It is an understatement to say that the kitchen is well-equipped! The 6-burner gas stove and double wide frig make it easy to prepare meals.
Our favorite spot to hang out was the beautiful outdoor courtyard, a space located in between the original structure and the new addition. We spent many nights BBQing dinner on the HUGE outdoor grill and then enjoying an aperitif in front of the wood-burning fireplace. The strings of party lights suspended from roof to roof gave it a very festive atmosphere!
Finally, our family spent a lot of fun times in the heated pool and spa. Definitely worth the extra expense to have this luxury!
We chose this property because of its prime location in Coronado, voted the Best Beach in the USA a couple years ago. We could walk/bike to the Hotel Del Coronado for beach access, as well enjoy the other great sites on our side of the island, such as the Glorietta Bay/Marina and the Coronado Golf Course. Orange Ave, the "Main Street" of Coronado with its shops and restaurants, was a short walk from the property. The Ferry Landing was also a bike ride away, and free shuttles could get you there from Orange Ave in minutes. We were even able to see/hear the 4th of July Fireworks from the backyard of this home!
We also chose this property because of its proximity to the major tourist attractions in San Diego, including the Zoo, USS Midway and SeaWorld. Transportation is easy, even if you do not have a car. Taking the Ferry across the Bay would afford several touring options, with public transit and/or Trolley Tours to take you to the places you want to visit.
The owner provided beach/pool towels and toys, beach chairs, umbrella, and BIKES! We rode all over town!
We came to Coronado to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday - grandkids and all! We had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room to sleep 10 of us (7 adults, 3 kids and a baby), and we enjoyed all Kent & Toni had to offer. We played in the pool, used the bikes provided, lounged in the living room, barbecued dinner, walked to the Village and Hotel Del daily...looking at the pictures I wish I could go back again soon. It's a fabulous neighborhood and location, and Kent & Toni offer a lovely home from which to enjoy it all.
