This cottage is located on quite Harford's Point with Moosehead lake access only 100 yards away. Enjoy a day of swimming and kayaking and an evening of grilling and sitting by the fire. There are trails at Harfords point for hiking and biking as well as a 9 hole golf course which is only two miles away. You are a short distance from Greenville's town center where you will enjoy unique shops and restaurants as well as moose safari tours and scenic plane rides. The cottage has a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer and satellite TV as well as an outdoor grill and fireplace. Everything you need for a relaxing vacation!
We really enjoyed our Greenville/Moosehead Lake vacation homeaway. The house out in Harford's Point is a great location for access to everything. It was close to town & everywhere, spent a few meals & evenings in the Stress Free Moose Cafe (yummmmm). The house was clean, had a very well stocked kitchen, plenty of pots, pans, utensils. Nice to have washer & dryer too. It rained the first 2 days but we cuddled up on the couches with blankets & who cared! Good hot water in the shower & comfortable beds. Nice yard outside where I enjoyed my morning coffee & listened to the lake noises but it could use a couple of comfortable lawn chairs (if I'm being picky). It is not on the lake & I do think that would be nice, but the house can't help that. Also, we were confused as to the lake access but figured it out. There is a canoe out back but didn't find the paddles or life jackets in the back building until we had rented some in town. Not a big deal. A little more detailed info on the beach location & equipment to use on the lake would have helped, but all in all it's a great location & home to rent! My husband & I were well pleased with the house & all of it's amenities!
This little home has it all..Good location, close to all the things to see and things to do in the Moosehead Lake Region, close to fun and challenging golf courses, and super clean and well stocked.
Clean, clean, clean!!! Charming cottage at the lake. The house is fully supplied with everything you need. Owner helpful and available. Did not give five stars for very minimal view of water and beach down road was overgrown with high grass. If we plan on returning to Moosehead Lake again we will definitely stay here
The cabin was clean, comfortable and close enough to Greenville for finding groceries and places to eat. The kitchen was particularly well stocked with utensils and baking dishes. The proximity of the Lake and access via a small pathway were welcome particularly as the weather was in the mid 80s for the duration of our stay. We swam, canoed, went on a sea plane trip (highly recommended ) but sadly did not spot any moose. We were visited by a nightly racoon, who tried to make off with our trash can.
The cabin is not easy to find as the Sat Nav did not take us quite far enough and there is no cell or wifi signal at the property. Having said that, part of the charm of the property was the absolute peace and quiet, just what was needed. The pictures do not do the property justice and we were pleasantly surprised at how much room we had for the 4 of us. We had a great time and would love to return to the area one day.
We had a wonderful vacation at Moosehead!! As returning renters of the Benson's camp we find that the camp always suits our needs. It is always very inviting and clean! It offers a yard for the kids to play and access to a small beach for sunning and swimming! We will be back!!
We did not know what to expect when we saw this cottage. The pictures were beautiful , and we were not disappointed. The cabin is beautiful, and just the right size for my husband and I and our granddaughter who travelled with us. The owner always got back to us quickly with questions.
The area is beautiful, and the cabin is not far from the town of Greenville, about a 10 minute drive. We ate out in town one evening, and went to the well stocked grocery store a few times.
We signed up for a moose tour at a company in town and enjoyed our trip on the lake by canoe, unfortunately we saw no moose.
We found several hiking locations within a 1/2 hour of the cabin, and generally enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the use of the cabin, it was great, and we are discussing another visit to the area and hope to use the cabin again, Dana and Al Lambert
