House was recently remodeled and clean inside and out. House is on a large lot, very quiet and relaxing. Other homes in the area are spread out allowing for privacy. Plenty of room to park your boat trailer, Several oak trees provide shade around BBQ pit and picnic table. A deck in the back yard provides a covered seating area with light and ceiling fan. Quite and private country living, with key card access community T head fishing pier, swimming pool, and boat launches. Very relaxing and only a sort drive to restuarants, shopping, and beaches. Free WiFi
Was very small with no storage in the bathroom at all, had to keep towels in the bedroom.
The picnic table was falling apart but he did replace the grill with a new charcoal grill.
was about 7 to 10 miles to the beach and groceries was a hassle for us.
Nice place for fishermen not really good for long term renters, but enjoyed the area of Rockport/Fulton.
The house could use some TLC but overall not bad.
I would have rated this place 5 stars, but there was an issue that was not really the fault of the owner that brought it down. In fact, I thought about rating it lower, but I didn't want to hurt the overall rating for a problem that was caused by the prior guests who had apparently checked out the day we checked in. The big issue was the fairly intense smoke smell in what was supposed to be a non-smoking accommodation. We arrived as the friendly and very apologetic cleaning woman was finishing up trying to get the place in order from what sounded like quite a mess left by the previous guests. Not only was it obvious from the smell that they had ignored (and apparently removed) the no-smoking signs posted in the house, they had also left piles of cigarrette butts on the floor of the bathroom. Since they reportedly had been there for two months, the smoke had a chance to really permeate the house and everything in it and since they checked out the same day we arrived, there simply wasn't time to correct the issue. Upon arriving home from our weekend trip, everything we had inside the house reeked of stale smoke. It was tolerable for us, but for someone more sensitive to smoke, it would have been a major problem. Again, this is not the fault of the owner, and I'm sure that the very conscientious cleaning woman, Sharon, will do everything possible to get the smokiness taken care of, but I wanted to say that if you are a smoker looking to rent a vacation home, have a little consideration for others and either rent a unit that allows smoking or SMOKE OUTSIDE!
If not for the smoke problem, the house was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. It's located on a street with quite a bit of space between the houses. The bed was comfortable, the wifi worked well, and the kitchen was well-appointed. Although we didn't use it, the jetted tub was a nice feature too. We did try out the community fishing pier but the fishing there was not particularly good at the time we were there. It was nice to have access to the pier's fish cleaning tables for cleaning what we caught elsewhere, although the water on the pier was not working, so bear that in mind. Other than that, if not for the smoke issue, it was a great place at a very reasonable price, and the owner was very easy to deal with.
My family and I had the best time, the house was very accommodating we were very impressed was cool when we got there and very clean. The neighborhood was so quiet and the backyard was the absolute best. Definitely will be back!
