Why Jay Harder chose Bowness
We live in the same community that this apartment is located in. It is close to nature, close to the mountains yet conveniently within 15 minutes of Downtown. We love the 'small town' feel of the community of Bowness and the quiet neighbourhood.

Very nice space, affordable and a close walk to many amenities
We stayed in Jay's home for a short period at the beginning of August and really enjoyed it.
The home is nicely renovated and decorated. We were nervous (coming from Toronto) that without A/C we would have a hard time sleeping but we quickly learned that the temperature drops quite a bit at night in Calgary and there is little humidity. We both slept very well. The very soft king sized bed helped with that also.
There is a lot more to this rental than you will regularly find on these type of sites. There was coffee, shampoo and conditioner, soap, towels, bedding, DVD's, wifi, water bottles in the fridge and on site laundry. This is FAR more than I have come to expect from home rentals. Be warned there is no cable though. We got by on the DVD's since we weren't in the unit very often but if I had been staying longer I probably would have liked to have brought my chromecast so we could stream Netflix.
It is a short walk to a grocery store. The same plaza also has a 7/11 and several other small shops. There is a really lovely bakery as well. I was able to walk to a Starbucks one morning also, though it was a bit of a hike.
We did not experience problems with the neighbour smoking excessively as mentioned in previous reviews. Maybe that was a guest the neighbour happened to have the same week as other renters?
For what we paid we had a LOT of space, easy access to nearby shops and all the benefits of being in a hotel (other than turn down service). We were also just around the corner from the friends we were in Calgary to visit. Walking distance!
Thank you Jay.
Nice for Cool Weather
The neighborhood was a little concerning on first sight, but we found it to be very quiet, and no one bothered us. The unit is very nice, and clean.
The only problem was unusually warm weather, causing is to keep windows open. The neighbor smokes, and as it happened the wind direction pulled the cigarette smoke straight into the rental.
The place was comfortable and clean, the area though not the nicest was very quiet. The downside of staying in this unit was even though it said no smoking the apartment building was very much a smoking building. The smell when you walked in the front door was overwhelming and was throughout the unit. I would recommend this property if you have dogs the park and trails are beautiful that's if you don't mind the smell of smoking.
I guess this is the kind of response to expect when you ask a guest if they brought a dog unannounced.
The building is no smoking and the unit is not smoked in. Possibly someone who was a smoker walked through the halls? Dont know what to say on this one other than there were a LOT of short white pet hairs in the unit after this guest left.
