About Dave McComb - Killington Rental Properties

I'm a father, snowboarder, tech guru and entrepreneur who somehow got into the rental property business as well. My wife and I are happy to welcome travelers to our home and do our best to make sure everyone is comfortable and has everything they will need for a memorable stay with us.

Dave McComb - Killington Rental Properties purchased this house in 2006

Why Dave McComb - Killington Rental Properties chose Killington Area

When I saw this house, I immediately knew this was 'the one.' The outside is deceptive as it looks smaller than it actually is. I had to do a lot of work on the house initially, which included finishing the basement area, but it was all well worth it. The house is great for large groups and the location can't be beat! You're close to the mountain and all the activity on the access road.

What makes this house unique

The house has a great deck that's perfect for winter or summer. In the winter, you can hang out in the covered hot tub with outdoor speakers. In the summer you can grill on the deck and chill out in one of the patio chairs while looking over the lush green landscape.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We stayed at The Killington Mountain Retreat for a summer weekend college reunion and were thrilled with the ease of use, Dave's prompt communications and the house's many amenities. Perfect for cooking out, lawn games and comfortable living. The bugs were out at night but never seemed to bite. Related note: local caterers Thyme4More threw down an unbelievable 4 meat BBQ feast for a reasonable price. And Jax Bar (.8 miles away) sent a free shuttle van to pick us up, took us to the bar and then ferried us home for free at the end of the night. Fun was definitely had by all. Highly recommended.

Great place, great location, great time!!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and 14 of my friends stayed at this property for my bachelor party. Our intention was to ski but since there was no snow we had to make do. Luckily we stayed at this property. The house is a great size with plenty of beds, has a game room which we spent a lot of time in, and a perfect yard for throwing a football and playing lawn games. The property manager was very helpful as well. I definitely recommend staying at this property!!

Lots of beds!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect size house for 24 people. It's also near a good pizza shop, coffee shop, and liquor store. One suggestion would be to have some more pans in the kitchen, since cooking for 24 people is a task. Otherwise great stay!

Don't be fooled, this house is large!!

  • 5 of 5

First off the management director Dave was a pleasure to deal with. He was very quick to respond to every one of my emails 7 days a week. Every request during our stay was accommodated and immediately.

The house looks deceivably small from the outside. We had 20 in our group and we did not feel cramped at all, there are several different living spaces for the families or kids to spread out. Several compliments from the families that the beds were very comfortable.

Deposit immediately returned upon leaving the house in agreed condition..

Overall a great experience and the house was as advertised.

Comfortable house for a large group

  • 4 of 5

This house was clean and set up well to sleep 20+ people. Lots of bedrooms and lots of beds. The beds were comfortable. Like most ski houses, there isn't a lot of room for stuff in the rooms and if you have all the beds taken, it can be pretty cramped.

The kitchen was a tad small for a group this size. There was barely enough plates, bowls and coffee mugs for the largest groups. For a house this large it would make sense to have extra table settings and perhaps another table so everyone can sit and eat. Bring paper plates and plastic forks and cups if you plan on having meals for more than 20 people. The dishwasher worked well and we did many loads. While a fuseball table is nice it was hardly used by our group and we would have been better off with another dining table. The deck was nice and large and the hot tub was awesome. It was one of the best hot tubs I've experienced and I would rent this house again just for the hot tub. It was large and had really nice jet action and it could be as hot as you would ever want it.

There wasn't a great place to have everyone hang out together at once but there are enough spaces to split up the group. The living room is on the small side. We moved some chairs in so more could sit in there. There is another living space in the basement which allows for some to watch TV and others to play a game or watch something else. The cable wasn't working while we were there, so we couldn't even watch any TV. There were games and plenty of other things to keep us busy.

The mud room is in an odd location. It isn't where you would enter the house. It is around the back. We all entered by the kitchen and all of our shoes littered the kitchen floor and under the kitchen table. It was a bit of a mess and wasn't set up very well. If it was snowing, we would have to train everyone to go around the back to get into the house, or else the kitchen floor would be even more of a mess.

The house was in a nice quiet location. I liked that there was an option to bring my dog, but the cost was very high and dog care at home was less expensive. The security deposit for this house is also very high.

Everyone enjoyed the house and we would come back and stay there again. Our host answered all my questions and seemed very nice.

Very nice property!

  • 4 of 5

The house was very well kept. The inside offered more room than we even needed. The house is located in a great part of town, just down the road from a nice little convenience store and incredible bakery. Overall very pleased with this rental and hope to return again soon!

AWESOME retreat house!

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time staying at this beautiful property in Killington, Vt.

The house was exactly as described and the owner Dave was great with communicating during the entire booking process.

We had a group of 16 staying and it easily could have slept 30 so everyone had plenty of sleeping space and we never felt cramped.

If you're looking for a weekend getaway or in the winter a week-long ski trip, this is a great spot and you should lock it in!!
