A beautiful, secluded country cottage and barn set in 49 acres with stunning sunset views. The 150 yard drive takes you slowly away to this peaceful retreat composed of an 1840's 4-bedroom cottage and a 2-story barn equipped with Mexican bar, pool table and table tennis. Wake up to deer, turkeys, bears, foxes, eagles and hawks, watch amazing sunsets and relax in total seclusion or explore the many extensive area attractions. DirecTV, Internet, Sonos, two stereos (barn & house) each with indoor and outdoor speakers.
Spent a weekend here. 10 guys. 2 rounds of golf on Friday and Saturday. The property is close to town, yet very secluded. Rustic, yet modern in all of the ways you'd need. It's all about the outdoor space and the barn with the pool and ping pong tables. Add the Sonos and outdoor speakers and it's like you're in high school and somebody's parents went away for the weekend. The yard is massive and you can watch the sunset over the valley. Use the grill and play some Allman Brothers and the place is perfect.
If you value privacy and the ability to throw a frisbee 100 yards in the dark until midnight, rent this place. We'll be back next year.
This place you have to see to believe! Stayed here for a weekend with some old college friends. We couldn't have asked for a better place, everyone had a fantastic time. We had no reason to leave the property as it provided us with all the entertainment that we could ask for. So much open space that we spent all day out in the sun playing yard games. The pool table, ping pong table, and bar in the barn were just too much fun. Not to mention the fact that the entire property is equipped with Wi-Fi and Sonos inside and out so that the music never has to stop.
The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process.
Thinking about it now, my only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. You simply can't go wrong with this property. Hopefully we will return in the future!
We rented this property for a family get together and it was just perfect! The property is pristine, secluded, and well kept making for a perfect getaway. Both the main house and the rennovated barn provide ample space for up to 10 people. Our party spent most of the time in the barn where we were able to play pool, ping pong, and play music on the indoor and outdoor sound system.
The owner and caretaker were fantastic, responsive, and very professional. The owner readily responded to emails and was very approachable. When we arrived we found that the propane tank was empty. After contacting the owner and caretaker we received a new tank within an hour.
The only minor issue were carpenter ants though they never really bothered us. Upon notiftying the owner we were told that an exterminator would remediate the issue.
Overall we would highly recommend the property and plan on revisiting the location in the future!
The property is gorgeous, well maintained, and so relaxing. There is stuff for people of all ages to do. The kids loved running around the vast lawn chasing fireflies and playing on the playground. The view of the sunset is incredible, and waking up to have your coffee on the lovely stone porch was devine. The whole house has been lovingly restored. Another perk is how close it is to grocery stores and town, yet so tucked away. It was an amazing week, and even my preteen had a blast!!
This was a great house and a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The cottage was updated yet still had charm. The property is secluded and private but close to town along with a variety of nearby activities. The converted barn was definitely a plus and a great place to hang out as we got to use both the pool table and table tennis. Phil was extremely responsive and very helpful. I would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing trip with plenty to do both on the premises and in the Pocono region.
A wonderful property in a stunning location. Very remote but close to various attractions. You could spend a day exploring the grounds. The barn is an added bonus as is the play area if you have children. The owner and caretaker were both very helpful. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone with a love of the outdoors.
Perched above Cherry Valley, nestled in 49 acres of secluded, beautiful land, with stunning sunset views across the Pocono mountains and quick access to both the Delaware Water Gap and Stroudsburg. Year round beauty and accessibility to countless activities, both recreational and sporting.
