About Eric P

Years ago, when our friends were choosing to travel overseas Mary and I really wanted to get to know what was in our own back yard, so we traveled and/or lived in many places all around North America. We have met many amazing people and experienced a lot of great places. We have recently broadened our travels with a handful of overseas trips, but without a doubt, Flagstaff has remained the place we call home. Flagstaff seems to have this amazing ability to attract people who are incredibly friendly, kind, open minded and energetic. It is truly an amazing place!

Eric P purchased this house in 2006

Why Eric P chose Arizona

Flagstaff is such a beautiful town with a great close community. There are endless year round events for families and couples to enjoy. You can't beat this location! Getting close to nature is so accessible. A short walk outside and you can take a trail that will lead you on a two hour loop through the local pine forest. Also, an easy car or bike ride downtown brings you to all the shops, restaurants, coffee shops and nightlife. You can celebrate the Pine Cone Drop on New Years Eve and be back in your living room in 10 minutes....even with the New Years traffic!

What makes this house unique

When we bought the home, we fell in love with the quiet nature views from the three large living room windows! It would be difficult to find another vacation rental in Flagstaff that offers a feeling of being surrounded by nature (Ponderosa pines and oaks trees while seeing deer in the yard) and yet still being so close to downtown. That really makes this property unique.

North Rim delight

  • 5 of 5

Headed to Flagstaff to provide a grandson with his first experience in snow. We were lucky to find this wonderful home. Truly a gem "in the woods on the outskirts" of town. I'll use outskirts lightly. Home is located in a perfect position. It's close to a grocery, gas stations, restaurants, a leisurely stroll downtown, a quick drive up to Snowbowl or forests.

We were met by Eric, who called the day before to make sure we were still coming (a weather forecast had a storm rolling in). Assured him we were still on track. We arranged to meet and he was so very nice. Walked us through the home explaining how things worked, showing us the things that make all guests feel at ease as they enter a new environment. For example, the fireplace was set and ready, bottles of water in the refrigerator. I know these things make guests happy since I also own properties and try to do the same. A great guy to have a conversation with. Wish the talk could have gone on longer but we both have other things to do.

The house has 3 bedrooms that are comfortable and well equipped. Each room has its own thermostat allowing for customized settings. 2 bathrooms to provide guests with a spot to wash away the day, conveniently. Kitchen is well equipped allowing guests to dine in if they chose to prepare their own meals. You are not lacking for anything major. Probably not minor either.

Living room is compact but comfortable once again. In fact, this house is just plain comfortable. Windows allow a view of the surroundings where we were lucky enough (again) to find 8 deer foraging for 2 consecutive days. It provided the grandson with additional delight and numerous photos. Cable TV, DVD player with lots of titles to peruse, books, games, small stereo system all within easy reach. Small desk in the corner if you need to do some work. Wireless access too.

In the hallway there is the laundry, open for use. Have a large load and need to dry things quickly? There are 2 driers. One washer though. More than adequate. Linens are coordinated nicely and ample. Outside the house has a nice front patio with walkways on the side. Want to BBQ? Got that covered too. There were even 2 snow disc's and a sled on the porch to use.

Obviously I think that Eric and Mary have done a very good job at providing a great place to stay. As we were leaving my daughter remarked, "Guess we'll have to keep this place on the list". She is a hard one to please so this must be a keeper. Try it and see.

Great place, great owner

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights after the new year and loved it. The owner was there to explain everything to us which was very helpful. Unique old fashioned fireplace heated the place well. They even honored a request to use no fragrance cleaning supplies as my wife has a sensitivity to strong chemical odors. Convenient location, very nicely decorated and functional kitchen. Will be coming back if we are back in Flagstaff soon!
