About Eric P

Years ago, when our friends were choosing to travel overseas Mary and I really wanted to get to know what was in our own back yard, so we traveled and/or lived in many places all around North America. We have met many amazing people and experienced a lot of great places. We have recently broadened our travels with a handful of overseas trips, but without a doubt, Flagstaff has remained the place we call home. Flagstaff seems to have this amazing ability to attract people who are incredibly friendly, kind, open minded and energetic. It is truly an amazing place!

Eric P purchased this house in 2006

Why Eric P chose Arizona

Flagstaff is such a beautiful town with a great close community. There are endless year round events for families and couples to enjoy. You can't beat this location! Getting close to nature is so accessible. A short walk outside and you can take a trail that will lead you on a two hour loop through the local pine forest. Also, an easy car or bike ride downtown brings you to all the shops, restaurants, coffee shops and nightlife. You can celebrate the Pine Cone Drop on New Years Eve and be back in your living room in 10 minutes....even with the New Years traffic!

What makes this house unique

When we bought the home, we fell in love with the quiet nature views from the three large living room windows! It would be difficult to find another vacation rental in Flagstaff that offers a feeling of being surrounded by nature (Ponderosa pines and oaks trees while seeing deer in the yard) and yet still being so close to downtown. That really makes this property unique.

Comfortable Home!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our week long stay very much. The home is beautiful and so comfortable. All of the details were seen to by the owners with many personal touches throughout the house. Thank you so much for a wonderful place to call home for a week. The serenity of the woods outside the living room window was my favorite. It felt very private and the scenery was just so peaceful.

i would definitely recommend this home and the owners were awesome! We hope to come back and repeat our stay!

A very pleasent place in town yet quiet and private.

  • 4 of 5

We found that the "cabin in the pines" exceeded our expectations. It is very neat and well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cabinet space. There are three bedrooms so it is suitable for 6 persons; however, the dinette table only will seat four. There is a bar but no bar stools at this point.

On the front there is a deck which is delightful place to visit--no traffic noise whatsoever. We also enjoyed the wood burning stove in the living area. A potential renter should be aware that the walkway from the parking area to the house would be difficult for the handicapped.

We would not hesitate to stay here again should we return to Flagstaff in the future.

Owner's Response: We got to meet these guests and we really liked them. They were two couples in their early 80's. Really great folks! The only thing we were confused by in their review was the comment, "There is a bar but no bar stools at this point." There are 4 nice comfortable bar stools with backs at the counter bar. The same as seen in the picture of the kichen. Though not all 4 stools can be seen in the kichen picture, there are 4. We wonder if they may have confused our place with another vacation home. Either way, they were very pleasant guests, and we just wanted to clarify for future guests. Thanks, Eric & Mary

Jewel in the pines

  • 5 of 5

The house is very clean and has been lovingly and beautifully maintained. There is a deck on 3 sides of the house and the front deck was the favorite spot for coffee in the morning and watching stars at night. The location is central to numerous sites and activities in or near Flagstaff, including The Grand Canyon and Petrified Forest National Parks. Hiking and biking opportunities are plentiful from the urban area to more remote regions. The owners (Eric and Mary) are very friendly and helpful and greeted us to show us around the house. A return is already in the planning stage for next fall.

This beautiful home is situated on a heavily wooded lot just blocks north of downtown Flagstaff! Enjoy the culture, shops, restaurants and nightlife of downtown, and return to your quiet rental home in 5 minutes! This neighborhood is surrounded by forest trails that lead to Buffalo Park, Thorpe Park, the Flagstaff Urban Trail System and onward to the San Francisco Peaks. Biking, hiking and walking are very enjoyable in this area of town. There is even a small nature trail that leaves from the property to enjoy. Situated in the middle of it all, this property offers a home base for easy day trips to Grand Canyon Nat'l Park, Sedona, Wupatki Ruins, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, Lava Tubes, Hart Prairie, Mount Elden, Peaks Sky Ride, Museum of Northern Arizona and the surrounding Reservations. Lake Mary is an easy 14 miles away and offers picnicking, boating, fishing, wake-boarding, water-skiing and swimming. Year round ice skating and Frisbee golf is available at the Jay Lively Activity Center just 4 blocks away. There is also the Flagstaff Aquaplex just a 10 minute drive to an indoor pool with waterslide, fitness center, and rock-climbing wall. And don't miss Friday night family movies in Heritage Square...a locals favorite! You really can do it all or just relax in this prime location!
