Nestled in the heart of the historic village of St.Peter’s, this beautiful century old home is located on the doorstep of the Provincial Parks oceanfront trail. Walk, run, bike or simply beach comb along the trail to St Peter’s Canal where fishing boats line the walls, and local residents cast a line or two from shore to catch a tasty meal. Enjoy day trips to all the sites of beautiful Cape Breton, including the Cabot Trail and Fortress Louisburg or spend the day in the area where local sandy beaches, sailing, kayaking, hiking, and golf and picnic areas are minutes away. At the end of the day, return to this friendly, laid back location where you can take in our nightly cultural music events and fine cuisine or simply relax in the back yard around the fire pit and enjoy the peaceful summer nights. The town has a full array of amenities, including grocery store, pharmacies, liquor store, hardware store, post office, gym and outdoor sports facility, coffee shops, financial institutions and unique gift shops
Hi Michele, Didn't get a chance to write in your book before we left...so wanted you to know how much we enjoyed staying at your century home last week with Scott and Monica . Your house was extremely well equipped and so beautifully decorated. The girls loved the swing set in the evenings. The fishing poles provided many memories for all of us . We did lots of sightseeing and appreciated the info re beaches, places to eat and sights to see. Thanks a bunch.
Simply a wonderful place to call home for a little while. Immaculate house with well appointed furnishings and decorations. A surpassing view.
The hostess made us feel right at home. The town was a pleasure to visit. Thank you
This was a lovely house in a great little village. Michele was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. The property was well positioned for visiting the rest of Cape Breton and we couldn't get enough of the view of the sea and lighthouse from most of the rooms and grounds. We were lucky enough to see an eagle from the garden! The village has everything you need and we thoroughly recommend the freshly cooked lobster from Jiggs.
This house provides a perfect haven for experiencing this gem of a town, which bisects the BraDor Lakes & the Atlantic. The house itself is exquisite; it combines the unique charm of a century home with modern amenities. The house is tastefully decorated and manages to be both comfortable & elegant. Our party found this house to be a substantial component of our enjoyment of the town & area(which have a lot to offer)Michele was a gracious hostess who gave us fantastic travel tips. Don't miss out on a Bra Dor sail with local skipper, Gordon. Absolutely a highlight for us. A shout out to Ann Marie whose thoughtful advice was greatly beneficial to our side excursions. The house offers numerous panoramic Atlantic vstas that are east coast iconic. The views are incredible and postcard quality. The town blends charm, hospitality & modern convenience. We loved the wing night @ the town pub. We enjoyed using the well appointed immaculate, gourmet kitchen-we felt we were on the set of a cooking show-seriously! The coastal trail is gorgeous, & is located @ the end of the driveway. Battery Park has numerous short, but visually rewarding trails with stunning ocean views. My husband & son found the kayak rental @ BraDor Lakes Inn fairly or iced & well maintained watercraft. Isle Madame is a trip back in time to an Acadian fishing culture , & was a worthwhile side trip. The citizens of St Peter's are so warm & friendly. Don't miss this wonderful part of CB!
A week of bliss!! Great walking trail just a few steps from the house. This trail goes on forever!! We just loved it. You can go down to the canal and watch the seals and a Bald Eagle! You can make a right on the trail and just go a little ways during low tide and gather sea glass!!
We would just walk up to town have breakfast or lunch! Lovely grocery store! Every where we went in town we met the friendliest people. St Peters is a delightful laid back little town. There is plenty to do within an hours drive.
Now about this lovely home, it is so very inviting and charming! There were 5 adults and we all had plenty of space! A warm and cozy sunroom!! A spacious dinning room. Extremely well equipped kitchen! We cooked Lobster outside and there was everything we need to get the job done. The beds were extremely comfortable! At night we sat around the fire pit!!
This is a comeback home!!
We spent a week in St Peters, mostly kayaking around Iles Madame and the nearby bays. Despite the fact weather was not always on our side, we truly had a wonderful time. The owner makes you feel at home immediately. The house is superb, spotless throughout, well decorated with pieces of history. Also, beds are comfortable and you can feel the ocean breeze from the windows that open to great views of the bay and the lighthouse and the entrance of the canal (a 5 minute walk from the trail system just behind the house). The pictures on the site correspond to what you get. We did not get out for diner; the kitchen, recently renovated, is very well equipped and allowed us to cook like at home. Commodities are at walking distance. We would not hesitate to recommend that rental to anyone and it is particularly well suited for families with children.

We stayed here for a week - visiting from the old Scotia - and absolutely loved it. The house is convenient for the town and surrounding areas. It is warm and comfortable with plenty of room for a grown-up family - and all the comforts you need - in a traditional - but sympathetically modernised - home.
Michele is a great source of local knowledge - her family having been in St Peter's for generations. She is welcoming but not intrusive - and even offered to cook us the lobster that my daughters were too squeamish to put live in the pot (the lobsters lived to tell the tale - but the offer was much appreciated.)
The walk around the coast is fantastic, and the local community very welcoming. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here if you are looking for somewhere good in south C/B.
If you do nothing else while you are here - try the seafood chowder from Charlene's in Whycocomagh - about an hour's drive away. It's available both sitting in and to go. It'd be worth a trip back to C/B on it's own - we but would definitely stay with Michele to do so!
