Beautiful new home nestled on four privates acres surrounded by wildlife with 1045 feet of waterfront. Only one mile from Weirs Beach, miniature-golf, drive-in theater, and waterslides.
Me and my group of 12 girls stayed here in July 2016 for two nights. It was everything we wanted out of a place to stay. The location was less than a mile from Weirs beach and the downtown area. We were in walking distance to the neighborhoods private "Sandy Beach", which we went to for the day. The other comments are accurate about where the house is located on the lake, but you are in walking distance to your own beach, and a mile drive to the main "Weirs" beach. There is a lot to do around this area, and we had a blast. Something to note, there are 4 bedrooms, three on the main floor and one downstairs, they all are queen sized beds. There are also 3 large couches to sleep on, 2 in the basement, and 1 upstairs. We were unaware of the amount of beds. so we brought a few air mattresses. We also brought our own sheets and pillows, and that worked out for our group very well. All three bathrooms worked with no issues and convenient with our large group. I would recommend this property, Mike, the owner was very nice and made sure everything was to our liking when we got there. If you are unsatisfied with anything, I know he will do what he can to make it better. Thanks again Mike, great time!
Overall impression of the property was low. It is advertised as water front but this in fact means swamp water. Lower level/basement smells of sewage due to an out of service toilet. The porch area was nice, but certainly lacking upkeep as there are many boards sticking out and lose ends. A cleaning deposit is required however the landlord will also keep your security deposit because his "cleaning lady" indicated the place was a mess. If you choose to stay here (though I wouldn't recommend to families with small children) then do not bother cleaning the area when you're done, you will see nothing back from your cleaning nor security deposit.
This is waterfront property but the water is very swampy and non swimmable. You cannot access this house via boat. All of the brush is overgrown alongside the house with no lawn for activities. The downstairs toilet was out of order and made the lower level smell like sewage. Porch was in poor condition with boards sticking up. Raccoons were coming within 15 feet of our group while having fire. I would not recommend this rental to families with children.
The owner refused to give my security deposit back. Even though there was an additional cleaning fee for the rental, our group spent two hours cleaning up everything before we left. The place was left just as we found it, which wasn't great to begin with. Watch your feet on the boards sticking up on the deck. Oh, and only one working toilet. I hope you like bugs because it's right near the swampy end of a cove. I would not recommend this rental.
