Very comfortable and close to everything.
We enjoyed our time in Grand Haven. This property is close to downtown Grand Haven and the the waterfront area. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed.
My family and I have stayed at Kristi's Place the last few summers but, on the spur of the moment my wife and I were able to arrange a getaway for just the two of us. I called Kristi to see if she had 5 days available starting the end of the week. She was happy to make arrangements on such short notice. As usual the home was immaculately clean inside and out. During this stay we even had time to enjoy the bikes that are provided.
Thanks for helping make this getaway relaxing.
We are glad you all had a great time!
We used the oven twice, both times to reheat food @ 350 degrees. After about 10 minutes the grease in the oven started smoking and set off the smoke alarm. So, no oven.
Twice the lever arm that connects the flush handle to the flapper fell off the flush handle. No fun dealing with a faulty toilet. Our dog escaped the yard by going up the hill to the left where there is no fence. Property advertised a fenced in yard, which isn't true.
The sump pump in the basement was overflowing and just disgusting. We were afraid to use the washer & dryer next to it.
Upon arrival a notice of water cutoff was on the front door. Dated in 3 days time. We didn't want to stay in the house without water.
This experience was appalling. Whoever is looking after the house isn't doing their job, but that should not be our problem. We left after two days of our 5 day booking.
Buyer beware. You get what you pay for. The low price is attractive and the glowing reviews are deceiving.
I would like to first respond to the issue regarding the water bill. Within minutes of this guest notifying us of this item it was taken care of and the guest was notified. This issue came up due to an error in the auto-debiting of the bill. This was the LAST communication we received from this guest until they notified us that they had left. Not until after they had left did they decide to share their problems with us. We have a handyman on call for if any issues arise during a guest stay. Regarding the items they site as problems.
Unbeknownst to us last month our neighbor had removed a section of their fence that ran to the back corner of our garage. Until this happened the backyard in including the part up a hill behind the garage was all fenced in. Until we can have the fence replaced we have removed the comment from our Homeway listing. Its no excuse but, you have to climb over short rock wall go under some a pine tree and finally push through some brushes to notice the fence is not there The afternoon they left we had both our handyman and cleaning person in do look at the toilet and oven. The cleaning lady responded the oven have a few small bread crumbs in it but, could find nothing that would cause it smoke. Her test of the oven showed it was functioning properly. The handyman repeated flushed the toilet but, was unable to replicate the guest comment that it would fail. Regardless the chain has been replaced. We are puzzled about the sump pump comment as the home does NOT have a sump pump in the basement or anywhere on the property. There is a water & dryer that is available to guests and used without incident by our cleaning lady after each guest to wash linens and towels.
We don't understand why at no time did this guest contact us. As previous reviews and dozens of emails from guests show one of the things they like about renting from us is how quick we are to resolve any problems that may come up.
We stand by the condition of our home as is evidenced by the review we received from the couple that stayed immediately after them although this review appears before this theirs in the listing. Potential guests of ours please read the other reviews we have received to truly know what your experience will be like if you stay with us.

Lovely and charming home - older but very well maintained!
This home is bubbling over with charm - from the original hardwood floors to the historic kitchen cabinets with their abundant counter space! As mentioned in the property description, the house is older. However, it is quite well maintained. Everything one could need is provided for use by guests. The house is well-appointed with comfortable furnishings including 2 reclining chairs, a reclining loveseat, large sofa and a flat screen tv with cable and wii system in the living room. There are 3 bedrooms - 2 ideal for younger guests and a master with king bed, flat screen tv and enormous closet. The eat-in kitchen is expansive with a large fridge, tons of cabinets, a microwave, dishwasher, gas range and even a K-cup machine. Plus all the little essentials were provided - disposable cups, napkins, paper towels - even scissors! The backyard is accessed from a charming sun room with a lovely settee and features 2 decks, lots of seating options and a grill and fire pit. The neighborhood is quiet with a number of charming homes. Kristi was very responsive to emails, especially when the homeaway app had issues accepting my payment. We stayed with our 2 small dogs for a full week and really enjoyed the house as well as the town. We can definitely see ourselves renting this wonderful home during a future visit to Grand Haven. Thanks Kristi & Doug for an excellent stay!
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our home. It is always nice to hear from guests. We look forward to your return next year.

Clean in a nice neighborhood
This is our 3rd year here and just like the last 2 years the place was clean, great backyard decks and great location. The owner was both helpful and responsive. Already planning on year 4 here.
We are glad you enjoyed our place. Looking forward to your return.

Wonderful Property for Beach Vacation
We had a lovely stay in Grand Haven. If anything, the house is nicer than pictured in the advertisement, and it is well maintained. Kristi was a great host and responded to e-mails quickly both before and during our stay. There was plenty of room for our family of four, comfortable beds, on-site laundry and enough outdoor seating to have another family over for a BBQ. The house is about a mile from Lake Michigan and a few blocks from downtown Grand Haven. For a rainy day, I recommend the Tri-Cities Historical Museum - it was surprisingly good for a free museum in a relatively small town! I recommend this property without hesitation, and we hope to stay there again.
