PLEASANTLY PERFECT !!! 😄

Tranquility is an Understatement !

This cottage is in The Best location for Everything. We walked / biked Everywhere, our vehicle never was used. 1 Block off Duval street, takes only Minutes to get to Mallory Square. There is on street parking in front of cottage, just be patient for a spot. We did have to park in a Pay Lot the 1st day, directly behind property, ($25 / 24hrs), but got a spot out front the nxt morning.

A Very Quiet / Private location ! We had coffee every morning on our Private patio amidst the tropical foliage (and the occasional chameleon watching us from the fence).

Everyone in town is extremely friendly and welcoming, even the chickens and resident cat... you feel like a Local not a tourist.

We stayed through Christmas, everything was open and Not overcrowded, so don't let a holiday deter you.

We cant give a high enough review for Tranquility ! ! !

Thanks for a Lovely Relaxing vacation .

Truly tranquil

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cottage with its wonderfully private grounds and amazing pool. It is an oasis of calm immediately adjacent to the constant party on Duval street. As you walk the block from Duval to Anne Street the noise falls off behind you. Yes, you can hear that there is partying going on but it is quiet enough that it is not even a distraction. The trees and bushes in the common area make it feel very secluded and private. The cottage is very well kept and has most of the staples you need to augment your grocery shopping, if you choose to cook in instead of taking advantage of the local resturants. The washer and dryer are an added bonus. Fee parking is available just around the corner if you can't find public parking nearby.

Wonderful retreat!!

  • 5 of 5

I did a lot of research prior to booking our hotel stay in Key West. I fell in love with this cottage from the start, and was never disappointed once we arrived. The location was great. It was near all of the downtown action yet felt so private and secluded. There were times I could hear some noise from Duval Street (especially when all of the bikers came to town), but it did not keep me from sleeping. The "compound" as it was called houses 4 or 5 cottages behind locked gates. They all share a beautiful pool surrounded by lush tropical plants and walkways. We never saw anyone else in the pool the entire time we were there (5 nights). There is a sweet cat that greeted us each time we returned home, and that was a nice touch. Parking can be an issue in Key West, but we lucked up and were able to get one of the few spots right out front on 2 occasions. After taking a day trip to Bahia Honda State Park we lost our spot and had to pay $25 to park overnight in a lot right behind Ann St. Key West is a walking city so if you get lucky enough to find a spot try to keep it! Just a little hint too--if you get a spot right out front, go inside and use the key to unlock the private gate off of the patio. This leads directly to the street, and you can bring your luggage in right to the bedroom from there. The cottage itself is very quaint and tastefully decorated. It was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The walk in shower is awesome! Being in such a tropical climate I did see a few ants and 2 "palmetto bugs" in the bathroom. I also had a very small lizard that would visit me in the laundry area at times. This didn't bother us or detract from the beauty of the property. There is a private patio area off of the bedroom/living room that has a grill, lounging chairs, and a table with seating for 4. There is a shared washer/dryer in the compound, but this cottage also has a washer/dryer of its own. We loved this because our clothes were always sweaty from the heat and humidity. There is a safe in the laundry area too that we utilized a couple of times. It was nice to know your extra cash and jewelry were locked up when you were away for the day. Dean was very easy to deal with, and was always quick to respond when I had questions. I absolutely loved this place and would return again if I came back to Key West! I hope this review is helpful and you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for 7 nights at Tranquility and LOVED it. It was tastefully decorated and exactly what we needed. We used the pool and the private patio grill. Both were awesome. We were close to all the action(didn't hear a bit of noise from Duval St.), but secluded and able to have all the privacy we wanted. Dean was extremely nice and easy to make arrangements with for our stay. We couldn't have found a better place in all of Key West. We will return!

The accommodations and grounds are beautiful and amazing. So secluded and romantic. The only negative; could, and is also a positive! The home is one block from Duval Street. I am assuming since you want to go to Key West you understand that Duval is the (friendly) "Bourbon Street" of Key West. Therefore it can be noisy into the "wee hours" (3:00+ am easily). For us 50+, it was more noisy Friday & Saturday, but every-night of the week (especially in warmer weather) could be suspect. I would do it again, it was not a problem, but full disclosure it should be mentioned. If your are a lite sleeper it could be an issue. I wish it were my home and we are planning to return next year.

The appointments of the home are well thought out and amazing! Washer & dryer, dishwasher, full size coffee maker. Kitchen is very nicely stocked, matching dishes, beautiful glassware, nice flatware and cookware/tools (think Crate & Barrel, not Wal-Mart). The best rental experience for level of quality that we have ever had and we have rented several condos/homes. The bed was very comfortable with high quality sheets/towels/linens. The furniture was comfortable and tasteful.

There is absolutely no need for a rental car unless you plan to leave KW daily. Easily in walking distance to everything, old town establishments, Mallory Square, a long walk to the KW Garden Club, but it is worth it and amazing. We met so many locals on our walk to the Garden Club who were puzzled by the fact that we were visitors and just enjoying the scenery, we were invited into a couples home, it is really a charming island.

To answer the survey questions:

House was clean as a pin, Dean and his partner leave staples so check the cabinets before you go to the store.

The photos were completely and totally accurate, it was even more beautiful.

The owner was attentive without being oppressive.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in KW.

We do not consider ourselves tourists, so even though we ran on Duval, we did not eat or drink there. We patronized Olde Towne - perhaps look at the restaurant reviews on Yelp, there are amazing restaurants north of Ann Street toward the Marina that are way less touristy, inexpensive and amazing.

Wonderful Anniversary Week!!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing place!! The photos and description were spot on. It was a perfect place to spend our 45th wedding anniversary week. The property was beautifully decorated and had many little extras which we appreciated. Plenty of room for the two of us, yet quaint and cozy and oh so lovely! So glad we didn't opt for a hotel room. This was so much better. You'll be about a block away from Duval Street, on the north end close to Mallory Square and the Harbor Walk. LOTS of restaurants and museums within an easy walk, or rent a couple of bikes. We rented a tandem bike for a day, and had a great time! The HOHO Trolley was good - but you could easily walk instead. You really don't need a car, though we rented one to drive from Miami through the Keys and it was parked the entire week. Highlights: took a sunset cruise, ate at Mangia, Mangia, visited the Hemingway Home and Truman's Little White House, plus lots of bars of course. Check out Fort Zachary State Park. Best beach in town!! And no crowds!
