The Captain William Morgan House, a sea captain's home circa 1850. Completely renovated in 2010, this Greek Revival maintains all of its original charm as well as modern amenities. It is located in the heart of downtown Mystic's historic district- leave your car and walk everywhere!

Please call my cell for information prior to booking 860-884-9994.

The yard is entirely fenced in. There is a sitting porch on the front and a large, covered, pillared porch on the back of the house. We created a 6 ft. granite fire pit in the back as well as another patio. Vegetable and flower gardens surround the property.

Mystic River views are seen from most windows and the back yard. You can hear boat whistles, church bells and sea sounds. My property is a double sized lot, very private, peaceful and relaxing!

Lovely house and area...

  • 5 of 5

We had such a lovely stay, everything was just as described! Susan was wonderful to work with and we loved Mystic and the surrounding area.

The house was characterful and very comfortable, and we enjoyed the pretty garden.

Thanks very much :)

Could Not Have Asked For More!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this lovely property for my daughter's wedding at Mystic Seaport. As I haven't rented a property prior to this one I was a little apprehensive however my fears were quickly put to rest upon contacting Susan. She was very accommodating, timely with her responses and could not have been nicer. The house is exactly as pictured, immaculate and contains everything required for a wonderful stay. The pre-wedding photos were beautifully enhanced by this property. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to rent in the Mystic area and I would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

What a true Treasure

  • 5 of 5

What a true gem in the heart of Mystic! The home is as beautiful as the pictures. My family and I stayed for a long weekend and it was simply wonderful. Everything that you could want for a lovely stay. Property and home well maintained and beautifully furnished. Feels just like home. We parked the car all weekend and walked everywhere we wanted to go. Just a few minutes walk right into town. Owner Susan was great to deal with. We can't wait to go back for another Mystic adventure!

Gorgeous property, excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Susan's home is absolutely stunning; the pictures don't even do it justice. It is an extremely modern, tasteful renovation of a historic home. The most exceptional part of this rental is all the little details; everything is carefully labeled and easy to find, and anything you could possibly forget for your vacation is stuck in a little cubby somewhere. The yard and deck are lovely, spacious, and private, and the main-floor bathroom is like something out of a luxury hotel. It's about a 5-minute stroll to all of the shops and restaurants of Mystic.

It's good to note that the common areas of the house do not have air conditioning; we were there on a humid, 85 degree weekend, and the kitchen and living rooms heated up quite a bit. But the AC units in the bedrooms kept us cool at night.

A wonderful weekend all-around.

Owner's Response: Thank you Kay for the lovely comments. Just want to mention this... Because of the increasingly hot summers we've been having I am adding central air to my house. Will be up and running by next year. Still love open windows and Mystic breezes that typically fill our summers!! Sue Crawford

Wonderful stay for my wedding!!

  • 5 of 5

My family rented the Captain Morgan House and Carriage Houses for my wedding week. We had an amazing stay - the bedrooms had great air conditioning to keep us cool at night and while we got ready and the backyard was great for our family to gather. What made our stay even more special was the short walk to downtown Mystic. We were able to walk into town each morning for a cup of coffee or to go shopping, and had amazing restaurants only a few city blocks away. I would recommend this house for a family stay!! Thanks Sue for a great experience!!

Amazing weekend in the most beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

Susan,

This was one of the best homes I have ever stayed in!

I just wanted to thank you immensely for opening your home to us 2 weekends ago. My friend, who is getting married, has said on a number of occasions that it was the best weekend she has ever had and was so touched that we planned the whole thing to celebrate her. Hearing her say it was the best weekend of her life just made me so happy as her best friend. We also said we would love to bring our significant others back for another weekend and stay at your amazing home.

The house was beautiful, large, clean and so unique. There were such beautiful details and touches in every corner. The yard is absolutely fantastic and the LOCATION IS UNBELIEVABLE. It is close/walking distance to everything.

Again, Susan, thank you so much for a wonderful and memorable weekend. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your summer!
