The apartment is in a fabulous location. Close to the metro, lots of great restaurants, and within walking distance to many attractions. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable but a little sparse on amenities. We ran out of toilet paper the first night and had to buy more. It is on the fourth floor so make sure you are fit enough to make the climb.
Loved the Apt and it's great location close to the Coliseum. Nice to have 2 complete bathrooms. The washer which could come in handy was in disrepair. If you don't intervene it will wash for hours on end. The kitchen was nice but since it sleeps 4+ so a 4 cup coffee maker is needed and there were no wine glasses. This is Italy---what's up with this? A big drawback is the 5 flights of stairs ( no elevator) and the flat lumpy pillows. I requested pillows that were more sleepable but my request was not answered and ignored. There is a really great restaurant with homemade pasta around the corner---recommended by the apt.
We had 4 adults on our 4 night stay at this apartment. Antonio met us at the airport when we landed and drove us to the apartment. He didn't tell us how much he was going to charge us before he picked us up and it definitely would have been cheaper for us to take a taxi. We had a really hard time communicating with him when he checked us in.
I think this location was great! We did a lot of walking while we were in Rome but that's what you should expect. Our favorite area was Piazza Navona and it was about a 30 minute walk one way. The apartment is spacious and clean. The showers are VERY TINY but I hear that is the norm there. The beds are big but a little hard. Like most people say in their reviews, it is a GOOD 3 story climb to the apartment so be prepared for that.
This apartment in Rome is in a fabulous location for visiting the tourist sites. You can walk to most places and easily access transportation from the apartment should you need it. Gabriele was very helpful and responsive to questions and requests. We were troubled upon our arrival as the air conditioners, TV, and shower were not working properly, but Gabriele had workers out the next day to make repairs. Unfortunately, it did require one of us to stay in the apartment as the repairs were made and lose a half day of travel. We did most of our cooking at the apartment and missed having some of the basic amenities i.e., salt, pepper, sugar, etc. But it was easily purchased at the nearby Carrefour shopping store. It was also annoying that the hairdryers needed adapters to work in the apartment plugs, but luckily, like most travelers, we had brought our own adapters. We loved having Internet that was dependable and quick. I would stay here again. Just a few “tweaks” could make this apartment rating much higher. The numerous stairs to reach the apartment at the end of the day are worth the effort. Once you open the kitchen and balcony windows the loveliest view and breeze fill the apartment.
1. Mr Meriggi nor his employee Mr Antonio do not answer when contacted after arriving on site. Before rental, response was fast...
2. TV not operating
3. Many lights not operating
4. Minimal number of towels provided
5. People entered the apartment while we were out and without any notice, leaving the floor dirtier than it was
6. General cleanness could be improved
Keep those points in mind before renting. I would not return to this location, personally.
We had a great stay here. Antonio picked us up at the airport and also showed us a great restaurant and market near this apartment. Only thing to note is that the apartment is on the 3rd floor so it's a lot of stairs when your carrying heavy luggage
