APARTMENT SERRAO is a modern 4 bedroomed duplex apartment situated in the prestigious Horta do Bispo condo directly in the centre of Tavira. Its central location is perfect to enjoy the town of Tavira which can be reached on foot in less than 2 minutes. The apartment is versatile, spacious and nicely furnished with a modern décor, and has a shared pool and private parking. On the lower level there is a lovely open plan living area with large dining table and comfy leather sofas. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge and freezer. There are 3 bedrooms on this level to accommodate 6 guests. The upper level space has been converted to offer a 4th bedroom and shower room and also has additional beds, and play space for children. This room has a TV and DVD, an activity area with table and chairs, table football and comfy seating. To the outside of the apartment there is a small balcony with seating area overlooking the pool. The pool is reserved for guests only and is set in a private cobbled zone which is securely gated and therefore perfectly safe for children to play. With the town, restaurants, shops and beach boat all just a short walk away, the apartment assures its guests of a comfortable, relaxing and easy holiday.

Superb accomodation, excellent location

Superb accommodation, excellent location

Recently we had the opportunity to spend a couple of weeks in this apartment. We have rarely been in a vacation rental that exactly matches, supersedes, the description and specifications in the ad.

It is extremely comfortable, modern and perfectly located to enjoy both the city and the sea. An easy 7 min walk to the center of the charming town of Tavira, and a 5 min walk to the dock where you can take a short boat trip to Tavira island where we discovered gorgeous sandy beaches only previously experienced in the Caribbean.

The apartment is almost new, practical and very spacious. All appliances worked and all the necessary equipment such as crockery, pillows, bed sheets, etc. were available in large quantities, enough for a very large family, or two!

This is a gem of a home away from home, we can't wait until we rush back to have a nice fulfilling vacation.

We had a great time in tavira. we thought the apartmnent was excellent, alot better than the photos on internet. it was so spacious, there was ten of us but we didnt feel like we were in one anothers face.The only let down there was no loungers around the pool, we had chairs in apartment to take down but you could only sit on them, lying on the wooden decking wasnt that comfortable.There is a few residents living in the complex which we felt werent happy with holiday makers coming and going but thats there problem for buying in a complex like that. we found some nice restaurants on the other side of river alot cheaper.The train is great too as you can go further afield.

The apartment was just as discribed, Luxury with all the mod cons, very clean , couldnt fault it in any way....

Swimming pool perfect !!

Location perfect, just 2 mins walk from town, with entainment every night. there are lots of lovely resturants and bars. I would recomend Bica's which can be found over the roman bridge....

Thanks to rachal for making our holiday great, We recommend the river boat cruise please book this through Rachal, this was one of our best days !!!

A short walk from the apartment takes you directly into Tavira town centre. Once known as the capital of the Algarve, Tavira stands proud amongst Portuguese history books and you will not fail to be enthralled by its unspoilt charm, character and tranquility. As you wander along the cobbled streets, you'll see an abundance of history and wonderful architecture. A Roman bridge links the 2 parts of the town across the River Gilao, its sides decorated with traditional old bars and restaurants - perfect for lazy lunches or a glass or 2!.

On one side of the town there is a large square which has entertainment in the summer months, and by crossing the Roman Bridge to the other side of the town, you will find a little more life in the evenings with a great selection of restaurants tucked away down the streets and a few later opening café/bars. Features and things to visit include the many churches (37 in total!), the Town Castle and the Camara Obscura with its stunning aerial views. There is a range of shops to explore, as well as the old market building recently restored with cafes, shops and artisan, and also the traditional indoor market selling locally grown produce and fresh fish. To enjoy and see the full Tavira aspect, you can take the passenger train which follows a set route around the town, or you can personalize your experience by taking a ‘TUK TUK’ tour in the small vehicles for 2 – 6 persons.

Tavira is the perfect central location, with great bus, train and road networks connecting along the whole of the Algarve Coastline.

LOCAL BEACH - ILHA DE TAVIRA

The Beach Island of Tavira is just stunning. As a natural island separated from the mainland by the River Formosa, it is reached by catching a ferry from the main Tavira Harbour or towards Quatro Aguas. A excellent range of facilities is available including beach bars and a great selection of restaurants suiting most tastes. You can also hire sunbeds and sunshades. During the high summer season, there are also water sports and fun activities for all to enjoy. The sands are lovely and white, the sea is calm and together, these ingredients provide a wonderful tropical beach atmosphere akin to the Caribbean!

OTHER THINGS TO SEE AND DO

…….by travelling a little further afield there are a good range of things to do to suit all tastes. For nature lovers there are forest walks, cruises along the River Guadiana or natures trails along the Ria Formosa Reserve where bird watching is in abundance! By travelling towards the West there are some excellent shopping centres in Faro and Ghia as well as the famous Water Parks and Zoo Marine (wonderful for children), all easily reached by car or by day trip coach (around 45 minutes). From this property it is also easy to take a day trip to Spain. The lovely border town of Ayamonte is not far, and once there you can sample the delights of another country, including wine, tapas and excellent shopping. You can travel by car, or use public transport to get to Vila Real de Santo Antonio and from there take the 15 minute ferry crossing across the Guadiana River between Spain and Portugal. For the more adventurous the vibrant city of Seville is approx 170km away and for budding historians the Castle at Castro Marim is worth a look.

GOLF

This is perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the excellent courses situated in the Eastern Algarve. Within a 20km radius there are 6 courses to choose from. Benamor and the 2 Quintas (Ria and Cima) are the most popular and have fantastic scenery and sea views. The prestigious Monte Rei course designed by Jack Nicklaus, whilst a little costly, offers the height of golfing luxury. Travelling East to towards the Spanish Border, the challenging courses of Castro Marim and the Ballesteros Signature Course Quinta do Vale both come highly recommended.
