After all, Hawaii was our first vacation together when we were dating and years later it became our kids' favorite family trip. The weekend we started house hunting, my husband and I promised ourselves that this was just a "let's see" trip and that we would NOT purchase anything. We were determined to investigate and take our time. After looking at high rise luxury buildings, waterfront property, old plantation houses that needed renovation and mixed use office/apartment combinations, in a torrential downpour, we saw signs for an open house at this newly renovated property called "Aina Nalu." We fell in love immediately, and found ourselves signed a purchase contract before the rainstorm was even over!
End unit, ground floor, near parking, near BOTH pools, not your typical rental unit - it's our home. Books, CDs, wine glasses, pool toys, stroller, pack n play, games, beach towels, coolers, beach bags, SNOKEL GEAR, beach chairs, umbrellas, martini set, kitchen fit for a cook, personalized art work and photos, staff and friends on property and on island, AMAZING, dramatic views of the west Maui mountains, a 2 minute walk to Front street beaches, shops, and dining; the most peaceful and beautifully manicured grounds, private and secluded but in town, no big-resort feel like you get in Kaanapali and Wailea. It's truly our home.

Unit is clean and well maintained. The beach towels and chairs we could use for beach expeditions were a plus. Kitchen is small, but has all the essentials. Pool areas were well maintained, with a couple of barbeques available at the smaller pool. The pavilion by the larger pool is a nice place for groups to gather, a plus since we were in Lahaina for a wedding. Other family members stayed elsewhere in the complex, so we had the opportunity to see three other units. They are all quite similar, although there is some variation in furnishings depending on what individual owners or property managers have done over time. Views tend to be of the parking lots--think of the condo as a base of operations and not a place you choose for the view--it is walking distance to Front Street, restaurants and groceries.
I rented this condo for 6 days. The location is great if you're looking to stay within walking distance of Lahaina and within a few minutes drive of Ka'anapali. The condo was very clean, quiet, the beds were comfortable and having two bedrooms and bathrooms was ideal for my family of 5. They have everything you need here - full kitchen, dishwasher, washer, dryer, TV, & AC. This was my first experience renting through VRBO and it was truly pleasant, and I appreciated the owner's prompt and courteous communication. The parking is $20 a day, but you can park right outside the unit, which is very convenient. I spoke to a few other "residents" at Aina Nalu, and all were repeat visitors, so that says a lot about the facility; we felt very much at home and would definitely rent this unit again.
I rented this unit for my parents and my mother in law. It was a good size for them especially considering that they don't know each other very well. We had our family gatherings in the living room. Both groups really enjoyed the location because they were still able to enjoy their time there despite not having a car. I have to take off one star though because the second room was missing the tv remote and my mother in law has a hard time moving around due to arthritis.
Third time at Aina Nalu, first time at this unit. Nice unit. good location in complex. Ground floor suited us with access to parked car. (yes we payed the $20 parking fee - with grandkids and 'stuff' always going in or out, it is handy) We thought about buying in Aina years ago, but now really rely on owners with nice units like this to enjoy a stay in Lahania. Great we good book for 3 days as we were moving to Kahana next. Cheers from Vancouver BC

We really enjoyed our stay at Aina Nalu! The condo was well laid out and had everything we needed for our stay with 2 babies and a toddler. The location was perfect with an easy walk into town and access to great beaches just a few minutes drive up the road. The pools on the property were lovely, and even though it was spring break, we didn't find them particularly busy. The only downside to this complex is the parking. $20 seemed pretty steep. We were lucky and able to find street parking most nights and on the couple nights we couldn't there is a $12 lot across the street. We would recommend this location .
