Gorgeous Location

  • 5 of 5

This home was the perfect fit for our family of 6 and our dog. Right on the water, we enjoyed amazing skies and the kids hae a great time using the kayaks and fishing from the dock. The owners were very responsive and attentive as well as the local property manager. Great area to explore as well. Highly recommend!!

Great place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a very quiet place to stay, look no further. Catch blue crabs off the dock, go out fishing in the bay, or enjoy the sunsets on the screen enclosed porch. Tom is very prompt in returning calls and answering any questions. House was clean and tidy. Will stay here again.

Not a vacation

  • 3 of 5

It would have been easier on us and more appropriate if the owner had not left his boat occupying the only boat lift. Cranking our Jon boat up the "ramp" to drain it every night was work. The one night we left it tied to the only space available at the dock, the wind came up, waves filled the boat with water, and almost sank it. The several trips trying find the dump due to owners' casual directions, the large crabs preventing any swimming off the dock, and the feeling of being watched by a neighbor added to our stress. Owner should fix overheard fan in the bedroom with the twin beds; it made such a racket I had to turn it off and buy a fan.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. We try very hard to improve our property to make it better for future renters. I have never responded to a review before but I thought I would this time since this review was not the 5 star that we are normally accustomed to. We do not advertise a boat lift for use for liability and safety reasons and because the boat lift is adjusted for the boat that was sitting on it. I never leave my boat on the lift when I am not there but I was unable to start it to move it the week before you arrived. It would not have been available for your use even without a boat sitting on it. We also do not advertise a jetski ramp but I am glad that you found it and you were able to use it to keep your Jon boat from sinking 13 out of the 14 days that you were there. We do have storms that can create 1 ft waves that can easily sink an 8 ft Jon boat that is tied up incorrectly. The dump address is located on the refrigerator and the directions are provided in the homeaway information you have access to. I will print those and post in the kitchen to make the 5 mile trip with 3 turns a little easier. Thanks for the feedback. The fan in the the bedroom mentioned was indeed broken sometime in the last couple of weeks and it has been replaced. A simple email to me would have resulted in a new fan from my handyman the same day. This certainly would have lowered any stress levels that you may have had. WE DO HAVE A LOT OF BEAUTIFUL CHESAPEAKE BAY BLUE CRABS. I am sorry those crabs scared you away from swimming. However in my 51 years, I can tell you that the only time I have been pinched by a crab is when I used my hands instead of the tongs to put them in the steamer for cooking. We have been swimming off the pier for years without a problem. Finally, I don't think you could find a more remote location if you tried. The guy that cuts my grass drove down to my house to see if the grass needed to be cut ahead of schedule. He was startled to see your young son in my 4000 lb boat suspended by 4 cables 10 ft above the water swaying back and forth. He thought it was such a safety concern that he almost knocked on the door but he figured that there could not possibly be any adults in the house. He decided to give me a call and in return I sent you a polite email asking you to not allow you son in the boat for safety reasons. So you can be assured that no one was watching you, only those SCARY BLUE CRABS IN THE WATER. Thank you

Exceeded Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a peaceful and secluded property with easy access to the water and outstanding views - this is your place! I can't say enough great things about this property or the surrounding area. Enjoyed delicious seafood (and waterfront scenery) at the Island House in Wachapreague as well as fresh local breakfast and lunch options at Janet's General Store Cafe in Onancock. Had plans to visit Chincoteague and Cape Charles but never made those very easy trips because we didn't want to leave our rental property.

Tom, the owner, was great to work with and super responsive to our inquires. I would love to keep this place a secret but wouldn't want to deprive others of a great vacation spot. The screened-in porch sealed the deal for us and made nightly sunset watching a pleasure!

Would rent here again in a heartbeat!.

Bautiful Spot on the Chesapeake Bay

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful hidden secret on the Chesapeake Bay. Stayed here 4th of July week and had a ball. It's quite & peaceful. Great crabbing off the dock. The house is clean and has been recently updated. 2 full baths was nice to have with 2 teenagers. The provided kayaks were great for exploring the creek and bay. Would definitely come back again. If your looking for peace and quite and a million stars at night this is the place.

Thanks Tom and Le Ann for sharing your home with our family.

Breathtakingly beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 had the most relaxing, fun time. Cell phones, all electronics were put away and instead we kayaked the creeks and bay, caught a ton of crabs and feasted everyday! Home is lovely with the most beautiful artwork and endless views of water, sky, the horizon. House is well laid out with plenty of space and kitchen very well stocked. One can chose to do nothing but watch the most spectacular sunrises or sunsets; or you could begin your day with sunrise yoga on the dock, while fishing crab, kayak the many channels of water, bike the neighborhood, make reservations for dinner, visit the many harbortown s. The activities could go on and on. Tom B. was eager to insure we had a great vacation. Responds immediately to requests, very pleasant to talk with. A return visit is a must! The Mandzy Family
