About Deb Peterson
My name is Deb and I grew "up north" and love the outdoors, horseback riding, fishing, cross country skiing, running, hiking, biking..... most anything outdoors.
Deb Peterson purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Deb Peterson chose Duluth
This property has history! To start, the previous owner Ed Homer was a good friend of my late husband. They met flying airplanes and hit it off the first time they met. Ed was an outdoorsman and lived in Alaska in his earlier days and crashed on Mount McKinley and lost both feet due to frostbite. After recovery he was back flying and was hired by an airline which is how he met my husband Gene. The two were great friends and Gene and I had always envisioned getting a cabin "up north" one day for retirement. My husband passed away and Ed summited Mt. McKinley after Genes death. Ed said he had a dream that woke him up telling him to summit, which is in his book "The Hill". Ed then continued to mountain climb and attempted Everest. He was climbing on Mt. Rainer and was killed by a falling rock. Almost a year passes and I had this pull like I can't describe. The pull was this continuous thinking of the cabin and very concerned about what was going to happen to it (the cabin was 500 sf at the time and needed major major work to say the least). I finally called the neighbors next door that were very close with Ed and asked if the cabin was being taken care of by his family. Again, I felt this protection feeling of maybe not the cabin but the place/location.... a feeling of belonging overwhelmed me. One year later I was the fortunate owner of the cabin and the remodel has taken over 10 years to complete! The remodel is close to what Ed envisioned and I'm sure Gene would have loved also. I love the area and cabin very much and take strong pride in owning the cabin and plan to move there after retirement. Hope you enjoyed. Deb
What makes this Cabin unique
This place is quiet and beautiful! Location is near the end of a private road and doesn't have housing across the road for amazing seclusion. If you visit this cabin, you will want to come again!!

Beautiful cottage & lake
This is a beautifully decorated upscale cabin situated on a gorgeous and peaceful lake. It is relaxing but also fun. Kayaks are provided, rental boats are close by, and you can buy fishing supplies and license just up the road. We got to see all types of wildlife and enjoyed the lake as well as just relaxing in front of the fireplace. It’s a short easy drive to Duluth from here as well.
The owners are very accommodating & easy to communicate with.
A wonderful “Up North” getaway!
This is a great cabin on Fish Lake! The cabin is very clean & tastefully decorated, and fully stocked! The deck and dock are wonderful! Duluth is a short distance away and very easy to get to. There’s a small convenience store near the cabin which is nice if you’ve forgotten something! Do not hesitate to book this property, it will be everything you expect it to be! Absolutely wonderful!
Thank you Sharese for the wonderful review!
Can't miss, Great Place to Stay.
Very well maintained place with everything you could need. Relaxing cozy inside and a fun spacious outside. A must stay for anyone. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we enjoyed it.
Great cabin and great fishing
The cabin was beautiful and very clean. We spent most of our time outside, the large deck is great for outdoor meals and drinks with an awesome lake view. Fishing off the dock was a lot fun for the kids and the lake was nice and quiet with lots of loons nearby
Beautiful lake. Updated unit. Comfortable beds. Owners easy to work with.
Owners easy to work with. Ideal for a family of 4-5 to get away. We especially enjoyed the deck and fire pit. Close to Duluth without being in the busy crowds of hotels in Canal Park.
The Perfect "Up North" get away!!
This cabin is so adorable and cozy. The views from the entire cabin are just what we had hoped for. Waking to the sun rising over the lake and streaming into the front windows was magical. Since we were there after the holiday weekend, it was peaceful and quiet and very relaxing. However, close enough to Duluth and surrounding areas for nice little day trips and excursions. We loved our stay and would recommend Deb's cabin for anyone seeking a true Minnesota experience!! Liz and John
