Central location provides easy access to freeway and downtown. The Elkay House is located in north Eugene in a nice, quiet River Road residential neighborhood.
Sit in one of the bright painted rocking chairs on the covered front porch and watch the world go by. A kids' rocking chair and wooden rocking horse is ready for the little ones.
After 7 years of hosting guests, we will be listing the Elkay House for sale in the spring of 2017. We are accepting guests though, until the beginning of April. We appreciate everyone we have been lucky enough to host and will miss this little business. But it is on to more house building for us.

Debbie and Curt married in 2009. Curt, a builder, grew up in Oakville, Washington. Debbie is originally from Sacramento California, but has lived in Eugene since 1995. She has a 9 to 5 and loves house design. The Elkay House, built in 2000, was designed by Debbie. Curt has since made additions and improvements to it. Together, Debbie and Curt design new homes, which Curt then builds to sell.
We like to travel and between us have visited 26 countries. Prior to meeting Debbie, Curt sailed solo for 3 years; to Hawaii, then made his way to New Zealand.
We enjoy sports, photography, writing and especially our combined 5 adult boys and their growing families. We have a 2 acre place on the Mohawk River in Marcola, Oregon, which keeps us busy.
Debbie and Curt McKim purchased this house in 2000
The location is central to everything in Eugene and the house is surrounded by tall, tall trees. The street that the Elkay House is on is paralleled by Northwest Expressway and River Road. It is not your cookie-cutter neighborhood or home.

This was a great rental experience. This is a beautiful, very customized home, clean, with every amenity one could wish for, great customer service from the owners, Debbie & Curt. I would recommend it without reservation.
BTW, I'm an avid DIY home remodeler and this house, designed by the owners, is a cornucopia of clever and functional ideas for storage and space utilization, not to mention the firehouse-type pole for sliding down from the upper floor! -- it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so I slid down twice! ;-) Fun place.
Thanks to Debbie and Curt for sharing their home.

Four generations made once a in a lifetime memory at Elkay House. The kitchen was perfect for a belated Thanksgiving for the arrival of miracle IVF baby-great grandson, grandson, grand aunt, and aunt. Baby and parents live just 5 easy miles north. We were able to stock their freezer and provide meals on a daily basis. The house is very comfortable for the five of us. Will recommend to in law family and others. Home was spotless, amenities were accurate, and housekeeper was quick to respond to any special needs. Highly recommend visiting the Cascades Raptor Center.
We enjoyed the house quite a bit, and the amount of detail and craftsmanship in virtually every room is really something. Especially loved the antique kitchen sink and the food-service quality sprayer. Also loved seeing the world's fattest squirrel on the bird feeder in front of the kitchen table window.
The house is in great shape with a lot of fun details for families, and has anything one could conceivably need for a comfortable stay. Thank you to the McKims for sharing their home with us, we'll definitely look to stay there again next time we're in Eugene.
Cute home & great for our kids to feel comfortable. Plenty of character & care given into the home by owners & gal providing upkeep. Thank you for letting us celebrate happy memories there!
We enjoy our stay immensely . The home is very well taken care of, well stocked very warm and cozy. We arrived after midnight and the lights were left on for us.
Thank you we will book again next time we come back to Eugene.
We've had the pleasure of staying at Elkay house on 2 occasions. The first was with another family as we moved our daughters into University of Oregon. The most recent was for my mother's 80th birthday and family weekend at U of O. The main floor master bedroom was perfect for my elderly parents while the rest of us settled in perfectly in the bedrooms upstairs. The beds are comfortable, the quilts amazing and overall decor very charming. The kitchen is clean and well stocked. The location is a bit removed from the University campus which was inconvenient for us, but well worth the drive all the same. We only had one minor problem when my parents had trouble with the front door key not working. They knocked on Sandy's door located in the back of the property and she kindly let them in and provided another key. It was comforting to have her there for any problems that would arise. More importantly, we never heard her for the duration of our stay so privacy was not compromised.
I look forward to staying at Elkay house again during my daughter's 4 years at U of O!
We had a wonderful time.
Your home is very unique with all its personal touches throughout and very warm and inviting as well.
We will definitely recommend your home and use it again in the future!
