About Owner/Property Manager
I grew up in Walpole, moved away and never thought I'd be back to this rural community, but now that I'm here raising my family I couldn't imagine a better place to live. Lots of open space, fresh air, starlit skies, interaction with animals and nature and all things 'real'.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this Farmhouse in 1998
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Walpole
Along with my brother and sister-in-law and my parents we as a family have worked together since 1998 to bring this defunct dairy farm back to it's former glory. We're passionate about caring for this historic property, raising real food sustainably, providing you with as clean and comfortable a stay as possible and sharing a glimpse of farm life with you during your stay. Just a short walk from the Farmhouse is our B&B where we rent 3 Inn guest rooms and also 2 cottages. Should your party exceed the maximum sleeping number of the farmhouse or your friends plan to visit during your stay you have additional separate sleeping capacity right on site. Since we also operate a B&B on the property we have additional amenities such as a fully stocked rental (not only linens and towels, but milk, juice, farm fresh eggs upon arrival too) and concierge services to help make your stay perfect. Being a grass-based sustainable farm with more than 100 acres the surroundings are clean and quiet with no light pollution to spoil the amazing night skies. Our location is rural yet just minutes to downtown Walpole - the best of both worlds. Walpole has been a draw for centuries for notable visual and literary artists and is now home to a world renown chocolatier, fine dining, a local tavern, a winery with the most amazing views, cheese makers, farm stands, locally made ice cream, an art cooperative, several unique shops and more.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We're a grass based organically managed farm raising 100% grass-fed beef, heritage breeds of pork, pasture raised chickens, turkeys and eggs. Our meat products are for sale right from the farm and we encourage our guests to pick from our extensive organic vegetable and flower gardens during their stay (with permission) to create a true one-of-a-kind farm-to-table meal. Follow along and help with daily morning farm chores to learn about sustainable farming, collect your own still warm farm fresh eggs for breakfast, visit the farm animals, hike our on site woodland trails or walk to neighboring orchard to pick nearly 100 varieties of fruit including raspberries, blueberries, peaches, pears, sweet cherries, sour cherries, nectarines and nearly a 100 varieties of apples. If you wish for a simpler time and love fresh, clean food there's no better place to get a taste. If you're looking to explore the region, being on the border of Vermont and just north of Massachusetts our farmhouse is ideally located to explore all the other magnificent little 'gems' this region has to offer - explore high class museums, fine dining, petting farms, amazing views, hiking, awesome natural swimming holes, golf, hang gliding, zip lining and more.

Charming country farmhouse, complete with everything needed! Pretty views, close to town.
I was coming to the quaint town of Walpole to visit friends and didn’t want to stay miles away In a sterile, chain hotel like I did on my last visit. I had no problem booking Sunny Side Farmhouse online and was communicated with immediately.
On the day of arrival, I was delayed and needed to call on my way up to let Jacquline know that I’d be arriving later than I planned, and she cheerfully told me that she’d make sure that the door was opened, porch light on and that the keys would be on the kitchen table. She also took time to give me some additional driving directions.
The farmhouse is nestled into the surrounding countryside with views of the surrounding hills and farm fields - idyllic. The larger farm house, just a few hundred feet up the road, is The Inn at Valley Farm; a charming bed and breakfast where some other friends stayed. I could see that it would be a perfect setting for a large family gathering.
Everything was clean and well organized. The kitchen is large and fully equipped with updated appliances and everything we needed, including coffee for the coffee maker. The refrigerator was stocked with farm fresh eggs, milk, butter and orange juice,
There was a large laundry room next to the kitchen which would come in handy for longer stays.
The Master bedroom was conveniently located on the first floor off of the kitchen with the bathroom across the kitchen and family room.
The second floor laid out perfectly for children and friends who would enjoy sharing the connected rooms and bath.
There was an air conditioner in the bedroom but that wasn’t needed as it wasn’t too warm and the room fan comfortably circulated the air.
My favorite moments were in the morning light on the front porch rocking chairs, coffee mug in hand, sharing conversation as we watched the farm animals and chickens across the field and were visited by two adorable kittens.
I hope to return again next summer!
Thank you so much Jackie and the whole family for everything you have done so we had an awesome vacation. The house was very clean and well maintained and equipped. We loved everything in your property. Also the area and the view are amazing. The kids loved being there and close to animals, even they were crying when leaving the house , but we promised them to come back.
Beautiful house and property. We loved it!
We're so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us Hannah! We hope to welcome you back to the farm again real soon! Take good care, Jackie
We stayed at the Sunnyside farmhouse with our 2 kids ages 2 and 5 and the grandparents, and had a great time! We really enjoyed being close up with the animals (I especially loved waking up to see the cows grazing just outside our window, and our kids especially loved the pigs). I liked teaching them where our food comes from and we all learned more about sustainable farming. As a family run inn and farm, we felt very welcomed. Thank you, Jackie and Caitlin! The farmhouse was clean and it was nice to cook most of our meals in the kitchen. We bought chickens and beef raised there on the farm to cook and enjoy! A specialty local market and a bigger supermarket are close by. Our kids also really liked the little playground. The view from the farmhouse of the hills dotted with color and the pastures was beautiful. Alyson's apples being right next door was fantastic. We did a lot of apple picking.
Location wise, I was so pleased. Being from the west coast, I had no idea what to expect, but Walpole is such a cute, quintessential New England town and the Monadnock region is just ideal for viewing fall foliage. Though we were told it wasn't a great year for colors, it was still so beautiful. We didn't have to travel very far to see covered bridges, visit an organic dairy farm or go hiking. You can go on a beautiful hike right on the farm's property, in fact! In addition, you have easy access to VT as Walpole lies right along the Connecticut river. If we had more time and the hurricaine hadn't taken out some of the roads, we definitely would've spent more time in VT as well.
Bottom line, I highly recommend Inn at Valley Farms if you want to relax, enjoy nature and organic farming and explore the surrounding areas.
Our picture-perfect farm is an easy 20 minute drive from Keene, NH and on the border of Vermont making Walpole a perfect choice to explore all our beautiful region has to offer. As part of our bed and breakfast our accommodations include three individual rooms and two 3-bedroom cottages collectively capable of sleeping up to 28 guests if you need additional overflow lodging.
Visit the farm animals and help with morning chores while you tour our organically managed pasture-based farm to learn where real food comes from. Our farm raises 100% grass-fed beef, pasture-raised heritage pork, chickens, turkeys and eggs which are available for purchase from our farm store. We also raise a wide variety of produce, herbs, edible and cut flowers, and small fruits (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries) and we invite guests to share in the bounty of our extensive gardens during the growing season.
If cooking is not your thing we suggest visiting our new family venture, the Hungry Diner. A farm-to-table restaurant
Hike our interpretive woodland trail or cross country ski right out the front door. Walk to nearby orchard that grows nearly 200 varieties of fruit to Pick-Your-Own raspberries, blueberries, peaches, plums, pears, apples, pumpkins, winter squash and more in season.
Don't miss a trip to world renown Burdick Chocolates for a taste of some of the world's best chocolates, fine European pastries or enjoy lunch or dinner in their French inspired bistro which uses many locally sourced foods from neighboring farms. A tavern, diner, pizza parlor, and local grocery all in town as well.
Be sure to visit Walpole Mountain View Winery which offers tours and tastings and breathtaking views from its hilltop location. Premium ice cream, locally produced cheese, farmers' markets, free Sunday concerts on the town common, an art cooperative, several unique shops, one of the U.S.'s top rated 9-hole golf courses, 17 conservation areas, swimming holes and more all located right in our quaint New England village.
Covered bridges, antique shops, tax-free shopping, unique museums, and more swimming holes abound nearby. We've lived in the area for more than 35 years and are happy to help you plan your stay based on your interests, just ask.
