Bryson City Cabin Rental Photos and Description

15 Min to NOC , Train, Rafting, Fishing, Boating, Kayaking, Shopping, Hiking,

Smoky Mt. Train, Fontana and NOC IS ONLY 15 MIN. AWAY. This Secluded and Beautiful Log Cabin has a magnificent View of 9 mountain ranges. Not only is the property beautiful, The Gated Community has a 1 mi. easy drive up the mountain. (2450 altitude). Let the wrap around deck welcome you into this spacious 2+ bedroom 2 1/2 bath that also boasts a Kids Kave in lower level so Mom & Dad can have some relaxation and kids can play.

The home entry has a handicap access ramp OR 4 steps. Each side has a wrought iron decorated gate to keep kids or dogs on the deck. Enjoy the long range view of Franklin & Highlands mountains, All the view is of National Forest, not other homes. We have the Largest lot on Glory Mountain with plenty of room for your boat or RV to turn around. All yard is rocked (no mowing or messy red clay). Back yard is fenced for your pets.

This Open floor plan on the main floor has a beautiful living room with 24 ft pine ceilings, chalet windows and french doors to enjoy the magnificent view. The cozy rock-gas fireplace is so convenient ( no dirty firewood to handle). Across the room is a gourmet kitchen with high quality black whirlpool appliances. The matching rock island and glass cooktop is immaculate and a good center of attention. With custom curly maple cabinets, knotty pine wood floors, walls and ceiling, you really are in an authentic log cabin. Also on the main floor is a dining room, powder/laundry room and the Master Bedroom with the most comfortable King size bed , plenty of closet space and a large bathroom with a walk in shower and 2 sinks.

Upstairs is a large, private, loft /bedroom that overlooks the entire great room below, but still offers plenty of privacy for people staying up there. It has the most beautiful views thru the chalet windows you've ever seen. (see my sunrise photo). There is a LOG queen bed, and a sleeper sofa . An electric fireplace inside the log armoire. The spacious bathroom with tub and shower.. Sitting at the massive Log desk drinking your morning coffee, watching the sunrise. makes this a favorite room in the house..

The bottom level has been knick named Kids Kave.(3rd BR) It's bright and cheerful down stairs with french doors to the outside and with a view..The Kids Kave may be too cold to sleep comfortably in Winter. I would prefer everyone sleep upstairs during the colder months. It has 2 heater vents, & a portable electric heater, because when the fireplace is used, it warms the top 2 levels which keeps the central heat from working.

The house also includes Satellite WIRELESS internet, so bring your laptop. Direct TV, Trane Heat pump & air. A whole house automatic generator in case of power outage.

The dining table has 6 chairs & 2 leaves. Room for 2 extra chairs you will find down stairs. Living room seats 6 comfortably to watch the flatscreen tv. There are books to read, or cd's to watch. Movie rental at Ingles. NO NETFLIX with limited satellite internet.*

The best place is sitting on the deck overlooking the beautiful, relaxing view. Table and chairs under the umbrella on deck also is very inviting to eat out there. Grill is new 2016.

Our area of Bryson City boasts Fishing, Rafting, Boating, Kyaking, Horseback riding, Biking, Canoeing, Hiking all within 15 min. from home. Little Tenn. River is at base of Glory Mt. for Fly Fishing or get that 30 lb catfish...Fontana Lake is 35 Miles of wonderful fishing, & out of this world views. Launch your boat or rent one at Almond Boat Dock. . The World Famous Nantahala Outdoor Center has been on GMA, and is only 15min away, and has 3 restaurants on site. World Championship rafting competition was there. You will pass Nantahala Village Inn with '13 Moons Restaurant for fine dining.

For Night Life, Try Smoky Mountain Theater of Performing Arts, in Franklin 40 min. down Needmore River Rd. OR There's 2 Harrah's Casino's . 1 in Cherokee & 1 in Murphy with lots of entertainment, and restaurants.

Of course the kids want to go see the Cherokee indians dancing beside the road, and do some shopping. Winter offers Polar Express right here in town. Ski Resort area less than an hr. away with man made snow IF natural snow is not available.

SOOOO MUCH, SOOOO NEAR. Have a wonderful vacation, and I hope to hear from you. This is not just a rental cabin, it's a home away from home. It was my full time home for 5 yr. It's fully furnished & not just an empty rental cabin. You can have fun hiking all over this mountain also.

Keywords: Log Cabin, Chalet windows, long range view, WIFI, Handicap ramp , Large flat yard, lots of parking, doggie door & fenced area for dog, & fire pit. Gourmet Kitchen, Wonderful long range view all seasons, with year round access. Fall leaves, Polar Express. Secluded, restful, home away from home. weekly special. Tenn. River, Fontana Lake, Nantahala River. all right here. Snow sled available to sled down driveway.

About Helen Hughes

My husband Jerry & I used to take vacation to various parts of the Smoky Mountains every year.. In 1996 we found this lot and view. We knew at once ''this is IT''. We bought the lot and waited till we got old enough to retire. Jerry retired from Publix warehouse in Lakeland and I retired from owning 2 hair salons and a wedding consultation/ cake business. We sold house and everything, moved here, built our chalet log cabin of our dreams. We really enjoyed living here for 5 yr. till Jerry, a disabled Viet Nam veteran, died in Oct. 2010 at the Asheville VA Hospital. Although I absolutely love my home, I feel I need to be closer to my family in Florida now. I hope you will love this home even 1/2 as much as I do.

Helen Hughes purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Helen Hughes chose Bryson City Area

Bryson City has so much 'water', so much entertainment for kids of all ages to enjoy. We built this as our home, but now I will be renting or selling it for others to enjoy.

What makes this cabin unique

Total RELAXATION, awaits you sitting or eating out on the deck, with such a fabulous view of undisturbed National Forest. At the end of a private 1/4 mi. driveway you have total privacy. A flat gravel yard and a great mountain to hike on. Fire Pit in back yard to roast marshmellows.40 mi. Views of Fall leaves or snow covered mountain tops. Holiday Retreat.3 phones in home with free long distance, and SATELITE WIFI INTERNET, and TV. Exquisite mountain furniture and décor. Many birds feeding from containers on deck. Turkey, deer, and an occasional bear cub can be seen on the mountain.

Exactly As Described

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was exactly as described, which is always a great thing. It is pet friendly, our two dachshunds loved exploring the fenced in back yard. The cabin is fairly secluded, which is one reason we loved it. Plan on somewhat of a drive to get anywhere (nearest walmart was 40 minutes away, Gatlinburg was almost 90 minutes). Bryson City is amazing, we went on the GSMR train ride on Thursday which will always be one of my coolest memories. Going back to the cabin, it's clean, secluded, exactly as described. A great cabin for a fair price. Would definitely rent again! Thank you, Helen!

Beautiful home and gorgeous scenery

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect house for our vacation-quiet, peaceful, and very relaxing. The area was truly beautiful with each morning being able to see the mountains shrouded in the mist, such an awesome sight. At night the stars were so bright, a great sight to see if you are used to the city lights. The house had everything we needed and was perfect for my handicap mom as it was easy for her to get into the house with the ramp. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and we had great fun exploring. I would recommend this property for anyone looking to relax and get away from it all.

Beautiful Views and Amazing Hospitality

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful. Helen, the owner, is very responsive and easy to communicate with. She sent us the gate/key code well in advance of our stay and reminded us of some limitations on Internet access.

Everything was provided--from cooking utensils to spices to paper towels. The home was comfortable and a good layout for our 3 young children. While there is a kids area in the basement, our 2 youngest were too young to sleep down there by themselves, so we only used the master bedroom and the loft bedroom. We ate "at home" about half of the time and the other half we ate in town. Expect everything to be a 20-50 minute drive depending on which town to go to for food. We ate in Bryson City and Cherokee. We enjoyed climbing Clingman's Dome in Smoky Mountain National Park, tubing on Deep Creek with the kids in Bryson City, gem mining near the house, and taking the kids to Santa's Land in Cherokee. We would absolutely recommend this property!

Owner's Response: Thank you Kelly, I am glad ya'll enjoyed your visit. There really is a lot to do in the area for adults and kids. Santa Land was a great idea for the young kids. We had several conversations about where to go while you were here, I'm glad I could help. I am always available to answer questions from my guests.

Owner's Response: I'm very glad you and your friends had a wonderful time at my home and the train ride. My home is in a gated community, and is in an extremely safe and private area to make single senior ladies feel comfortable, so they can enjoy all the mountain scenery. You can't see other homes, and no one can see you. You just view 9 different mountain ranges with no homes. You are welcome to return with a 10% discount for repeat guests.
