|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Smoky Mt. Train, Fontana and NOC IS ONLY 15 MIN. AWAY. This Secluded and Beautiful Log Cabin has a magnificent View of 9 mountain ranges. Not only is the property beautiful, The Gated Community has a 1 mi. easy drive up the mountain. (2450 altitude). Let the wrap around deck welcome you into this spacious 2+ bedroom 2 1/2 bath that also boasts a Kids Kave in lower level so Mom & Dad can have some relaxation and kids can play.
The home entry has a handicap access ramp OR 4 steps. Each side has a wrought iron decorated gate to keep kids or dogs on the deck. Enjoy the long range view of Franklin & Highlands mountains, All the view is of National Forest, not other homes. We have the Largest lot on Glory Mountain with plenty of room for your boat or RV to turn around. All yard is rocked (no mowing or messy red clay). Back yard is fenced for your pets.
This Open floor plan on the main floor has a beautiful living room with 24 ft pine ceilings, chalet windows and french doors to enjoy the magnificent view. The cozy rock-gas fireplace is so convenient ( no dirty firewood to handle). Across the room is a gourmet kitchen with high quality black whirlpool appliances. The matching rock island and glass cooktop is immaculate and a good center of attention. With custom curly maple cabinets, knotty pine wood floors, walls and ceiling, you really are in an authentic log cabin. Also on the main floor is a dining room, powder/laundry room and the Master Bedroom with the most comfortable King size bed , plenty of closet space and a large bathroom with a walk in shower and 2 sinks.
Upstairs is a large, private, loft /bedroom that overlooks the entire great room below, but still offers plenty of privacy for people staying up there. It has the most beautiful views thru the chalet windows you've ever seen. (see my sunrise photo). There is a LOG queen bed, and a sleeper sofa . An electric fireplace inside the log armoire. The spacious bathroom with tub and shower.. Sitting at the massive Log desk drinking your morning coffee, watching the sunrise. makes this a favorite room in the house..
The bottom level has been knick named Kids Kave.(3rd BR) It's bright and cheerful down stairs with french doors to the outside and with a view..The Kids Kave may be too cold to sleep comfortably in Winter. I would prefer everyone sleep upstairs during the colder months. It has 2 heater vents, & a portable electric heater, because when the fireplace is used, it warms the top 2 levels which keeps the central heat from working.
The house also includes Satellite WIRELESS internet, so bring your laptop. Direct TV, Trane Heat pump & air. A whole house automatic generator in case of power outage.
The dining table has 6 chairs & 2 leaves. Room for 2 extra chairs you will find down stairs. Living room seats 6 comfortably to watch the flatscreen tv. There are books to read, or cd's to watch. Movie rental at Ingles. NO NETFLIX with limited satellite internet.*
The best place is sitting on the deck overlooking the beautiful, relaxing view. Table and chairs under the umbrella on deck also is very inviting to eat out there. Grill is new 2016.

My husband Jerry & I used to take vacation to various parts of the Smoky Mountains every year.. In 1996 we found this lot and view. We knew at once ''this is IT''. We bought the lot and waited till we got old enough to retire. Jerry retired from Publix warehouse in Lakeland and I retired from owning 2 hair salons and a wedding consultation/ cake business. We sold house and everything, moved here, built our chalet log cabin of our dreams. We really enjoyed living here for 5 yr. till Jerry, a disabled Viet Nam veteran, died in Oct. 2010 at the Asheville VA Hospital. Although I absolutely love my home, I feel I need to be closer to my family in Florida now. I hope you will love this home even 1/2 as much as I do.
Helen Hughes purchased this cabin in 2005
Bryson City has so much 'water', so much entertainment for kids of all ages to enjoy. We built this as our home, but now I will be renting or selling it for others to enjoy.
Total RELAXATION, awaits you sitting or eating out on the deck, with such a fabulous view of undisturbed National Forest. At the end of a private 1/4 mi. driveway you have total privacy. A flat gravel yard and a great mountain to hike on. Fire Pit in back yard to roast marshmellows.40 mi. Views of Fall leaves or snow covered mountain tops. Holiday Retreat.3 phones in home with free long distance, and SATELITE WIFI INTERNET, and TV. Exquisite mountain furniture and décor. Many birds feeding from containers on deck. Turkey, deer, and an occasional bear cub can be seen on the mountain.
We loved every minute of our stay at the cabin! It was a rainy weekend and we were looking for a low key get away after holiday craziness and it is exactly what we found! The cabin is cozy and inviting and was just perfect! The view was amazing even with the rain. We all returned to the city feeling relaxed and rejuvenated! I will say to follow the directions that Helen provides once you book rather than your GPS or smart phone. Our Apple maps couldn't quite get us there but the paper directions were perfect and easy to follow. Thanks so much for the amazing experience!!!
The view was great. Upon arrival we found the upstairs bed not made and animal hair all over the couch upstairs. The only sheets we found were downstairs in the main bedroom. The washer still had towels in it from the previous renters. The rest of the house was clean enough. During our stay the electricity went out and the generator did not kick in as it is supposed to when the electricity goes out. We could not get it started but to our good fortune the electricity came back on soon enough. There were two candles on the table so we had some light. Both times that I called the owner to advise her of the situation she seemed not to want to be bothered. It would be nice to have an override switch to the sensor lights outside the house. At night when you want to go outside to see the stars the lights automatically come on so you can't see the stars. The automatic lights are great when coming back after dark but you should be able to turn them off when you want to view the stars. We will not be renting here again.
We enjoyed our short stay at this beautiful cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. The fenced yard was great for our dog.
Excellent location, cabin and accommodations. Hope to return for another visit. Would strongly recommend to friends and family.
The house is beautiful. Very difficult to find! The hundreds of lady bugs on the counters, in the beds, on pillows, on the stove, and upstairs in the light fixtures and in the bathrooms were disgusting. W cleaned for over 30 minutes just to remove the dead ones. My niece had trouble sleeping because of it. Other than that this area was good. Maybe send the cleaning people in the day of arrival.
My trip included my mom and dad, husband and two teenage boys and my doggie (whom i share with my dad!) My parents are in their 80s - mom is in a wheelchair/walker and my dad is not very sure-footed, so their mobility is limited. My dad loves the mountains! The accommodations were absolutely the BEST! The ramp out side the home was plenty wide and very convenient to the parking lot. The deck wraps around from the side entrance to the back of the house - plenty of room - nice chairs with pads in an outdoor box. We took full advantage of the deck! Inside, there was plenty of room for mom's walker and oxygen. Plenty of room in the bathrooms - it was PERFECT! My dad and I would sit on the deck and look out at the most beautiful range of mountains we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying- the view is spectacular! The backyard is perfect too - it is fenced in so Foxy-girl could be outside without any worry. There was a fire pit we put to good use every night we were there and a picnic table where we ate supper. The gravel backyard is unique, but worked out perfect. My sons hung their Enos under the deck by their bedroom in the basement. They had their own "man cave" and outdoor access - they were in heaven! The two twin beds were perfect for them (they are 17 and 20) - The kitchen is amazing - all the appliances look practically new - extremely clean. Plenty of room for all of us to get in there and fix lunch/ breakfast. I can not say enough about the cleanliness of the house. We have used VRBO several times, and this was by far the most comfortable, cleanest, and pretty rental we have ever had. My dad wants to go back soon! Btw - its only 20 minutes from Herrahs - its off Hwy 74 which is a nice highway (as opposed to 19 which is tooo narrow and curvy for me!! ) You will be surprised at the road going to the gated community - it is a gravel mountain road - but we were in my dad's cadi and we had NO problems - the road is in very good repair - the house is secluded - be aware of that - but that was a plus for us!! I HIGHLY recommend this rental! Oh and one more thing - Ms.Hughes (owner) is great to work with - She is very nice and is very good about getting back with you if you have questions ::0)
NOC is only 15 min away for whitewater rafting. Almond Boat Dock rent a boat or launch yours 10 min., Fly Fish in Little Tennessee River at bottom of our mountain. All your summer excitement is here. Or just relax on the deck admiring the long range view of the National Forest. Extremely private, but secure. Zip Lines available at NOC & WhiteWater Rafting Co.
Smoky Mt. Train in downtown Bryson City. Cherokee is just 15 miles which has the entrance to Smoky Mt. National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Harrah's Casino. A new Harrah's just built in Murphy. Only 1 1/2 hr to Gatlingurg, Tenn. So close to everything. Great Location.
