One bedroom property with full bathroom, brand new kitchen (Dec 2015) and living area. Possibility of sofa bed in living area, flat screen LED TV. Small balcony in living area (standing area only). Wood floors throughout (living area, bedroom and hall) except for kitchen and bathroom (for practical reasons). High ceilings with original wood beams. Good showers & heating (large gas boiler) via hot water radiators. Kitchen equipped with washing machine, gas top, microwave oven / grill, slow cooker and granite tops.

The building itself is a fantastic grand property ('Palacete') from the 17th century located in the very heart of Valencia City's historic quarter 'El Carmen'

Unlike other apartments which are located in suburban areas, SERRANOS 17 is located right in the middle of the historical centre meaning more time for sightseeing and shopping and less time wasted taking taxis back and forth to the city centre. WiFi Internet, air conditioning in Summer and heating via hot water radiators in Winter, flat screen TV.

Great central location less than 200m from Cathedral and Basilica, 300m form the very main square....

Unique historical building with 3 large balconies (difficult to find balconies big enough to sit out on in the old town). Wonderful airy living room - dining area with 5m high ceilings. Great character - original wooden beams, warm wooden floor, great big entrance door downstairs for horsemen...

Great location and apartment

The apartment is beautifully decorated with everything you could need. Nicholas met us when we arrived and showed us round. The balcony had a lovely view of the Torres de Serranos, which is just at the end of the street. The area around the apartment is full of life and is close to lots of tapas bars, restaurants and also the cathedral. You are also only 5 minutes from the Turia park on the old riverbed, which is lovely to walk along and is surprisingly peaceful for being right in the centre of a busy city.

Modernised apartment set in atmospheric El Carmé district with views of Torre de Serranos Tower

Our stay in one of Nicholas' apartments was very comfortable for 3 of us and Nicholas was a very helpful host. On arrival he carried two of our suitcases up the 3 flights of stairs to the apartment. The only air con unit in the apartment wasn't working, but Nicholas immediately bought 2 brand new fans and arranged for the installation of a new air con unit within the week we were there.

He checked on us every couple of days to ensure we were managing to keep cool particularly that we had our 4 year old daughter with us.

Nicholas was a wealth of knowledge with many things and suggested where the nearest swimming pool and vegetarian restaurant were.

The apartment is a short walk away from the Pont de Fusta tram stop and bus stop for the beach and one tram stop away from Club Hipica, which has a lovely clean outdoor swimming pool open 11-7pm daily (June to September) if you can't be bothered to go to the beach.One can also play tennis there (in conjunction with Valenica tennis club) and children from 6 upwards can have riding lessons with the riding club there too. It's a well run yard in the midst of a city.

At the same time all the city's main tourist attractions and shopping are a 10-20 minute walk away.

A lovely location, with the gardens de Turia 5 minutes away so a great place for families too.

Great, but ........

Having spoken to the owner by phone before we travelled, we knew we were dealing with someone who wanted our business. We struck a deal for 6 days and discovered that the owner would be on our flight from Dublin, eta 23.40. Our plane was almost 3 hours late and our time to meet the landlord became 3.00am. He turned up reliably and happily. We went to bed immediately and reserved examination of the accommodation until the morning.

The Living Room was just as pictured on the website; characterful. The bedrooms were disappointing. The Master had 2 single beds of different heights side by side and the door to the en suite didn't close. The bed linen was fresh and crisp. The second bedroom was tiny; certainly cramped.

Both bathrooms had good fittings.

The location was good despite the 50 steps upwards. All in all good enough.

Incredible! Top Notch Accommodation!!

This is a great property to stay in! The location is terrific and the apartment itself is superb. We stayed for 2 months and found it a comfortable and upscale home. The kitchen has everything one could possibly need to cook the perfect meal...the dining area seats at least 6 comfortably, and is very pleasant. The lounge has a great widescreen television with loads of channels and we were able to use our apple tv converter with little effort. There was plentiful comfortable seating, which we have found to be rare in apartments such as this. Wifi worked well throughout the apartment. The two bedrooms were tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable... the double bed in the smaller bedroom fit the two of us very nicely! The other (larger) bedroom has 2 twin beds and room for an additional. Both bathrooms were comfortably appointed and the hot water (and shower pressure) was plentiful. There are 2 small balconies overlooking the street (and the Torre de Sorrento!) that are perfect for early morning coffee and that late afternoon glass of wine... The landlord (Nicholas) was professional, friendly, and extremely responsive. During our stay, the washer broke down...the next day, Nicholas replaced it with a brand new unit. Who could ask for more?

Excellent Location

The apartment is a brisk 10 min walk from the nearest metro- we found the address easily. It's located in a wonderful building and surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops. You really are in the heart of the historical district. At night, it can get noisy - especially on a weekend. However, we did sort of expect this in a central location and we didn't go to bed too early! The living area is spacious and light. It was great sitting in the sun on one of the balconies. The larger bedroom was very comfortable, slept very well. The smaller bedroom can just accomodate one person . Fine for sleeping! To get a full marks score I think the small kitchen appliances need updating. ( kettle, coffee maker, toaster)We had our coffee at the lovely local cafe next door. Also small bedroom had a strange drain smell??Not sure what this was about.....

Unique historic apartment in the very centre of Valencia's Old Town. High ceilings throughout and 3 large balconies overlooking the street, perfect to have breakfast on or a drink in the evening. Equipped with all mod cons such as Wi-Fi internet, air-conditioning, 42inch flat screen TV etc. Central heating in Winter keeps apt very cozy and warm.All tourist attractions within short walking distance as well as bars, cafes, restaurants, shops etc. Beach easily accessible via direct tram. For food enthuasiasts the fantastic central market is less than 200m away.

The surrounding area is like a museum with all the historical treasures and tourist sites within walking distance including the Cathedral 200m, Basilica 200m, Plaza de la Virgen 150m, Plaza de la Reina 250m, Central Market (Mercado Central) 300m, La Lonja (UNESCO building) 300m, Fine Arts Museum 300m, IVAM Modern museum 400m, Central Train Station 600m etc. The main drag of the renowned trendy neighbourhood, 'El Carmen', full of restaurants, bars and cafés is less than 100m away.

The river bed park 'Parque del Rio Turia' is at the end of the street less than 100m away. Apart from having the fantastic City of Arts & Sciences it is a fantastic place for sports enthuasiasts (joggers, cyclist), kids and walkers.

Playa Malvarrosa (Valencia's nearest beach) awarded the EU blue flag is 4km (10min ride) away. Other nearby beaches include the tranquil and pristine El Saler beach located along a lovely pine grove. Also located nearby is Valencia's Port, home to the renowned and prestigious 2007 America's Cup. SERRANOS 17 is within 15 miles of three excellent 18 hole Golf Courses: El Saler (ranked in the world's top 50), El Bosque and El Escorpion.
