Extremely happy with experience!

  • 5 of 5

The property mangers of this rental are the best I have ever experienced in the last 20 years of renting properties. They did an excellent job in having a super clean cabin upon arrival. They were very accessible and friendly. The cabin has had many great updates from last time we stayed 5 years ago. We will definitely be back next year again. A+A+A+ on customer service!

Great get away to "unplug"!

  • 4 of 5

My teenage children and I had a wonderful time on Wilson Pond. Dennis was easy to work with and had everything ready for us. While the camp is rustic..having no electricity was not a problem and great way to get the family to unplug and enjoy nature. We particularly enjoyed kayaking and swimming in the crystal clear pond. The stone jetty was a great place to sit and read or watch the sunset over the pond. The fire pit was perfect for relaxing and making smores. Greenville is just a short 10 minute ride. We would definitely stay here again.

Rustic, simple camp in a beautiful place

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Rustic Camp on Lower Wilson Pond and will definitely return. If, like us, you crave a simple, uncomplicated place to get away from it all in a gorgeous natural setting on a pristine and undeveloped pond, this is the perfect place! This camp is "the way life used to be" in the Moosehead area. There is total privacy and peace and quiet (skinny-dipping in the moonlit pond). (Note that the second camp on the property is never rented when the Rustic Camp is.) There were many times when, unless one of us was talking, we heard no human-made sounds at all....just the calls of the loons and the wind in the trees. The camp itself is clean, tidy, and well-outfitted with a full kitchen, bath with claw foot tub, and comfortable beds, chairs, and couch. It has all new gas appliances and water heater, and there are gas lamps - all the basic necessities. We found we went to bed when it got dark and got up with the sun. We spent most of our time on the incredibly clean, clear water in our canoe, or swimming. We hear that a dock should be installed soon, so next year we'll bring our small motorboat too. We can't say enough good things about how helpful Dennis was - he made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our rustic week. It was a perfect get away week!

Private Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a wondeful vacation on Wilson Pond. This camp is charming, a step back into another time. We spent most days on the water, fishing and swimming. The water is so clear and the lake is quiet. Don't let the non-electic nature of this camp scare you away. The gas lights work great and the kitchen is well appointed. We saw a moose on the near bye road and ran in the woods each morning. You feel secluded, but the town of Greenfield is close so you can easily get groceries or a bite to eat if you want.

AMAZING PLACE AND MANAGER/OWNER

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed at the cabin for our honeymoon and it absolutely could not have been any better. Leading up to our stay the manager was extremely helpful and answered any/all of the many questions I had. The arrival departure dates were very flexible, much better than the standard Saturday to Saturday with no exceptions you find at most places. The cabin is clean and comfortable and has all of the necessities (plates/silverware/cookware). When we arrived the owner Ken and manger Dennis had a bottle of wine and a note congratulating us on our recent wedding :) The lake is absolutely gorgeous and clear, I would highly recommend getting kayaks to putz around on. We did and used them daily. The jetty is great, every morning and evening was spent there and we say many loons and ducks come very close. Our two dogs loved the lake as much as my husband and I! The town of Greenville is close, 5-10 minutes and has several small shops and restaurants for a rainy day. I would recommend The Stress Free Moose for a drink and some live music and Flatlanders for some broasted chicken. All in all I can't say enough good things about our stay; from the town, to the cabin lake and outstanding management. I would recommend staying here or at any of the rentals owned by the Moosehead Area Rentals based on the experience that we had with the management.

We are less than a 10 minute ride into Greenville with local atrractions, activities, shopping, dining and the Katahdin Museum. There are several rental companies in town to rent, mountain bikes, kayaks, canoes, boats, jet skis, and so much more. While there is great fishing from our shores there are so many other lakes and streams in the area. We have some of the nicest hikes nearby as well. The Moosehead Lake area is the place to come if you are an outdoor enthusiast.
