Peaceful, quiet, charming, this new Guesthouse/Casita in a private compound off of Acequia Madre offers a beautiful retreat in the heart of Santa Fe's historic Eastside. Architect designed in traditional Santa Fe style, with smooth plaster walls, fine woodwork, high beamed ceilings and skylights, the bright, comfortably furnished interior overlooks a lush garden planted to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Help yourself to fresh herbs from the garden if you feel like cooking, or try one of one of Santa Fe's many outstanding restaurants instead. Enjoy a stroll along the 400 year old Acequia Madre, right outside your door.
One block from Canyon Road galleries, shops and restaurants, a short walk from the Plaza, downtown, Museum Hill, and the Railyard, take off from here to explore the best of Santa Fe on foot, through one of the most distinctive historic neighborhoods in the country. Don't hassle with parking during tourist season or special events like Indian Market or the Folk Art Festival. On Christmas Eve, walk out your front door to join in Santa Fe's spectacular Farolito Walk. A wonderful place to visit any time of the year!

We have lived in Santa Fe since 1993. As architects and artists, we love the aesthetic appeal of Santa Fe's unique historic district and chose to live in this neighborhood because of that. Santa Fe's small town atmosphere combined with its wide range of cultural opportunities fits our lifestyle. We also appreciate the natural beauty of the area and the easy access to hiking, cycling, and winter sport opportunities.

We think this location is simply the best in Santa Fe. Our guesthouse is tucked away in a lovely private compound in a beautiful, unique neighborhood, and provides easy access to all that Santa Fe has to offer.
One reason we chose to live in this spot is because we love to walk around Santa Fe. From our home we are minutes (on foot) from Canyon Road, the Downtown Subscription, the Plaza, museums and all of the shops, galleries, restaurants, and homes along the way.
A small haven within a larger haven (Santa Fe). I always felt it was like coming home.
Thank you Peg & Ken for it all.

The property was very well equipped and although we did not cook it did have everything anyone would need to make a meal. Place was clean and well cared for. We did use the sofa bed which was comfortable. Place was quiet and within walking distance of Canyon Road. We did drive to downtown but that was our preference. Would definitely stay there again if back in the area.
The casita was great for a long weekend getaway. The location was perfect - walking distance to Canyon Road and even the square. Very well-maintained and as promised in the listing and as mentioned by other reviewers. We loves the Teahouse Restaurant on Canyon Road which is especially friendly (gluten-free) for someone with celiac disease. The gluten free quiche and scones were amazing. We ate there three times during our stay. Also enjoyed eating outside at El Farol and then moving inside to listen to the band. We hope to return and would definitely recommend this property - a real gem!
My husband and I had a great week in Santa Fe and this well located casita was a big part of the reason. The space has high ceilings and lots of windows. The furniture is comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with all the cookware we needed, although we ate lunch and dinner out most of the time. The galleries of Canyon Rd are one block away, access to I25 is minutes away, and when we wanted to be downtown we drove 5 minutes to the visitor's center on Old Santa Fe Trail and parked there for free instead of using the pay lots in town. From there it is a 3-4 block walk to the Plaza. We would definitely rent this property again and highly recommend it to others.
I had such a lovely stay at this "Hidden Treasure. " I have had my eye on this rental for a couple years as an option while visiting our daughter in Santa Fe. Though we have stayed in nice hotels in Samta Fe, I finally decided to skip the hotel experience, and I could not be more pleased. The property is as pictured and even more charming to experience. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the Casista has wonderful light and feels spacious with the high ceiling and Windows. It has everything you could need for 2-4 people. The location could not have been more perfect for me to access the Plaza, Canyon road, Railyard, Historic East side, and nearby trails for a morning run. I had the opportunity to meet Ken (owner) and he was very kind and made me few at home. While I did. not need anything while I was there I felt the owners would be attentive to any need during my stay. I am especially grateful to have found a special property that my husband and I will not hesitate to try to book for future trips to Santa Fe to visit our daughter.
Thank you Ken and Margaret for sharing your beautiful property, making my stay in Santa Fe extra special.

Just returned from our second stay at the casita and it's as wonderful as ever. This property is for people who want to be within (extended) walking distance of the plaza and all its related bustle but far enough away to have peace and quiet. It's wonderfully appointed and the space is airy, sunny, and light. We especially like the house's backyard and its trees and greenery. Ken and Peg are totally responsive and helpful with anything you might need. We look forward to returning again hopefully soon.
Indeed, a small hidden treasure and I wish I could have managed to stay longer. The area is pretty, safe and at walkable distance from everything Santa Fe offers. I was agreeably surprised, and I found the casita welcoming, charming, clean, exquisitely decorated, and I quickly felt home. Plenty of coffee, tea and anything you need, if you are willing to cook. Close to Canon Road and most of the art galleries are . I also enjoyed meeting my hosts, Ken and Peggy and they were gracious. Peggy is a talented artist and was kind to let me see her art studio. One thing though, if you have AT&T, your cell may not work at all. I intent to use T-mobile the next time around, when I am there. .
Santa Fe hosts many unique annual events. Music lovers enjoy the Santa Fe Opera and the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. Art lovers can attend Indian Market, the International Folk Art Festival, Art Santa Fe, Spanish Market, SOFA West, the Santa Fe Film Festival, plus photography, clay and painting workshops.
The Santa Fe Ski Basin is a 30 minute drive away (winter snowboarding, downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding). Within minutes are 30 miles of hiking trails, the Audubon Center, and 10,000 Waves Japanese Health Spa. Visit nearby Native American Pueblos and archeological sites.
