Renovated to a high standard, this apartment has one double bedroom and sleeps 2 persons comfortably, with plenty of room for a cot. The lounge has a comfortable settee and some additional chairs. The spacious open plan living area looks out through a patio door onto the garden.
The views from the garden are stunning, with fine views of the Alps bordering Austria, and views across the river valley.
The modern kitchen is fully fitted with oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer and contains all of the utensils necessary for cooking. If you would rather eat out, there are good local restaurants nearby.
In colder months evenings in front of the wood stove and the large TV are special delights.
There is a patio next to the apartment. A large garden provides plenty of space for sitting out and there is a barbeque for those lazy summer evenings.
We provide all bedding and towels.
For entertainment there is Cable TV, a digital film library, an Ipod Dock and a good selection of books.
In a renovated traditional Slovenian house, our holiday apartments are surrounded by picturesque views and superb walking country in an area rich with summer and winter activities for the whole family.
We offer a perfect base for intrepid explorers and a peaceful haven for relaxation. We chose the house for its ideal location in a tranquil village surrounded by beautiful scenery, yet just 1.8 km from the busy tourist resort of Bled. In the village there are two excellent "local" restaurants, a restaurant in a big hotel and a small shop and bakery that sells basic provisions.
The house has a lawned garden, with pleasant spaces for eating out, relaxing in the sun, or chilling out with a glass of wine after a day’s activities.
There are 3 apartments: one with 2 bedrooms, boasting balconies with exceptional views and the others with 1 bedroom, one having its own private access directly onto the garden and terrace. Each apartment is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday, including multi-channel TV, DVD player, books, travel guides, maps, free WiFi internet connection and fully equipped kitchens.
Getting around is easy from our apartments. If you enjoy walking or cycling, lots of astounding routes start right from our door. For the more adventurous the Julian Alps provides hiking and biking opportunities at all levels of difficulty. To go further afield public transport from Bled is excellent. Alternatively, car hire is available in the town or at the airport. There are coach tours to many tourist attractions. If you have a car, there is easy access to the main AutoRoute and all the many attractions of Slovenia. You are also only about 30 minutes away from Italy and Austria.
Try swimming in Lake Bled in summer, or biking, canoeing, rafting, pony-trekking, fishing, golf, mountaineering and much, much more. This beautiful country also offers many sightseeing opportunities including the Julian Alps and the famous Triglav National Park as well as many places of historical and cultural interest.
Centrally placed for the six major ski resorts accessed with the Bohinj lift pass, our holiday apartments are ideally placed for those who enjoy variety in their skiing holiday. After heavy snowfall, a cross-country skiing trail is marked out linking our and other villages to Bled.
If golf is your thing, the 18 hole Kings Golf Course at Bled is believed to be one of the most beautiful in the world, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
For young children there is plenty to do, with lots of playgrounds and plenty of opportunities for mixing sunshine with water, either in rivers and lakes or swimming pools.
Also, for those not tied to school holidays, spring and autumn are beautiful times in Slovenia, ideal for rambling the many way-marked routes.
Easy to reach from the UK: Easyjet has a daily flight from Stansted UK to Ljubljana, WizzAir flies from Luton to Ljubljana, Adria Airways operates flights from London Gatwick and Manchester to Ljubljana. Or you can get a flight to Venice then drive across Northern Italy via Trieste into Slovenia, taking about 2.5 hours to Bled. For European travellers there are excellent auto-routes all the way to Slovenia.
We are a retired English couple who discovered Lake Bled in 2006 when returning from a caravan holiday in Montenegro and Croatia. We liked the country and its people so much that we came back and bought a house. We were still working in the UK at this time, so we renovated the house, divided it into 3 separate apartments and entered the holiday rental business. In 2010 when we retired, we continued the rental business as a source of income. During our years of renting we have been privileged to be hosts to lots of wonderful people, from all over the world. We hope you will visit our apartments soon!
John and Elaine Pearson purchased this apartment in 2007
We looked all over Slovenia for a property then chose this house because of its fantastic views and its location close to Bled but within a village community rather than the anonymity of a tourist resort.
Fantastic views, easy access to routes around Slovenia, close to Bled and its Lake, superb walks on the doorstep ..........
We stayed in the terrace apartment which was very cosy as although the days were warm the evenings were quite chilly. The apartment is in a lovely little village a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute walk from Lake Bled. It is well equipped and Wendy who manages the apartments on behalf of the owner was very helpful. Ribno has two restaurants both serving good, vfm food.
The property is well equipped and thoughtfully laid out. There was everything we needed and we were really comfortable whatever the weather. Lovely place. Highly recommend staying here.
We had a great time at the property for six nights in June 2016. The property is in a great location within easy driving distance of Lake Bled, many restaurants and grocery. We were in the garden apartment on the lower level and it was filled with everything needed, especially in the kitchen. Dishwasher, utensils, dinnerware, microwave, spices, etc. The apartment was very spacious. They have a laundry washer to use and ironing board and iron which is a nice addition especially since we were traveling for a month. The apartment was very clean and Wendy and John were both nice to meet.
The only thing I might suggest is to consider air conditioning. It was pretty warm and humid when we were there and the garden apartment is partially underground on some walls and it gets pretty humid in the apartment.
We would highly recommend this property and can easily be used for larger families by renting 2 or 3 of the apartments in the house. Slovenia is beautiful country to visit.
Great location, and comfortable clean and spacious lodging. We loved our stay in Ribno
My husband and I spent 2 delightful weeks in the charming garden apartment. It was very comfortable, clean, beautiful garden area, with all needed amenities. The owners were so sweet and helpful. Excellent location. We would 100 percent recommended this property, and would definitely come back again!
We enjoyed a splendid 13-night holiday based at this excellent apartment. It was spacious, spotlessly clean, attractively furnished, and equipped with everything one could possibly need from kitchen essentials to iPod docking station, a superb collection of films on hard drive, and free WIFI throughout.
There was an excellent collection of brochures, maps, and books, including the best walking guide for the area. The owners were on-site and always willing to offer suggestions of places to go, routes to take, and walks worth doing.
We hired a car, useful for transport to/from the airport, for supermarket shopping, and for travel further afield, but did not use the car on several days as took a variety of walks starting direct from the apartment, and were able to use the local community shop in the village, and eat or drink at either of the two local restaurants or the hotel, all very nearby.
The local area is most attractive and Bled is just a 20-30 minute walk away.
All in all this has to be one of our most enjoyable holidays, staying in one of best apartments we've had the pleasure of renting.
This area is renowned for its beautiful and spectacular scenery and the wide range of outdoor activities available. Lake Bled is surrounded by mountains, has an island you can visit by pletna to explore its seventeenth century church. The medieval castle sits on a rock high above the lake.
Bled has a large choice of bars, restaurants, coffee bars (serving delicious cakes), and many boutiques and gift shops in addition to supermarkets and other food shops. Situated near to the motorway system, Bled is within easy reach of all areas of Slovenia and in particular the capital city Ljubljana. Land based activities and water sports for the whole family in summer and winter are in abundance. Sightseeing trips are available to many tourist attractions. English is widely spoken.
Our property is based in a beautiful village 5 minutes drive from Bled. It has traditional Slovenian houses, 3 restaurants and a grocery shop. On all sides the village is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
Golf: The biggest golf course in Slovenia, 4 km from Bled, has been very popular with visitors since the early twentieth century.
Many consider it to be one of the most beautiful courses in Europe. Suitable for beginners yet offering challenge to experienced and professional golfers. There are 2 courses; the 18 hole King's Course and the 9 hole Lake Course.
There is also a driving range and a pitch and put green. The course is in an ideal setting used for many tournaments and other events.
If you are planning a golfing holiday there are 7 different golf courses within one hours drive from Bled
Ski: The ski resort of Bled, part of the the Bohinj ski area (82 individual pistes), offers some of the most picturesque skiing in the world. The Straza ski area reached by chairlift from Bled's centre is best suited to beginners and early intermediates. A ski lift pass gives access to skiing and snowboarding in the other Bohinj ski resorts. A free ski bus takes you to the Vogel and Kobla ski areas on the slopes of Mount Triglav, where you can ski up to 1800m. Beginners can master techniques on Kobla before testing the wide open runs on Vogel's superb plateau. There are a variety of runs on Kobla and Vogel for intermediates. Vogel has an incredible 8.5 km run going over the back of the mountain and descending to the magnificant lakeside area below.
Apres ski, nightlife in Bled is concentrated around the shopping centre and in the old part of the town where there are an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants. Bled has an ice-skating rink and there is skating on the lake if it freezes.
