My name is Daniela am Italian (from Trieste, where I have a Cosy Apartment to rent if you wish) and I have lived there for over 22 years.
I lived in Rome for over 20 years and 5 years in this apartment and I LOVED IT. Rome is a place everyone has to see.
Now I live in London and we have a B&B here so please contact me as well if you wish a nice holiday in London.
Daniela purchased this apartment in 2002
I choose this home because I lived in the area previously and it has excellent features. It is a residential area very close to the centre of town without the traffic and the hassle of it.
It has great transport services (very frequent air conditioned tram at 2 minutes walk from home that runs also in the night) that takes you in the centre of Rome in around 10 minutes.
One of the best fresh food market around the corner, one of the best in Rome and if you love italian food.
There are excellent restaurants and pizzerias just around the corner.
There is fantastic Park, Villa Pamphili at 5/10 minutes walk from home where you can relax after a busy tourist day. You can find secular Maritime Pines, a pond and acres of space to play and jog and have a stroll.
Fourthly there is a swimming pool centre at 10 minutes walk, with open air pool in the summer, a gym, and all shops including one of the best hand made ice cream parlor in Rome at 2 minutes walk from home (tony's), hand made 'pizza al taglio'.
If you love the beach and swimming from Trastevere Station (at 5 minutes away from home or 15 minutes walk) you can take the trains to reach the sea in around 30 minutes.
Great amount of natural light.
The apartment is really quite, this was a must for me when I bought it, previously living in a apartment where the car traffic was a nightmare. It is difficult in Rome to be in a central area without hearing the noise of the heavy traffic.
High ceilings, beautiful floor, upright Feurich piano, a very 'noble' German made, full of history and well know for the warm sound.
Very highly recommended esp. for its convenient access to public transport (tram 8 to Largo Argentina). The nearby market offers excellent food at good prices, and generally a side of Rome that few visitors will see. Apartment itself is well appointed, comfortable and sound-proof. Air-conditioning proved very effective during a late summer heat-wave. The owner is very considerate and sollicitous. Altogether, a real gem.
This rental has some very nice features: it is in what seemed like a very safe and quiet neighborhood; the tram -- which stops less than 5 minutes away and takes you to the center of Rome as well as other locations is extremely convenient; and the apartment itself is quiet. We hardly knew there were next door neighbors. I was able to prepare meals in the kitchen area with stove, oven, refrigerator, and cookware provided. The tv and wifi worked well, and there was plenty of hot water. The apartment was a bit smaller than I expected, but for two of us was fine. Grocery stores, restaurants, and nearby park were very convenient.
When we first got there, it seemed like we were too far away from the places we wanted to visit but then found out how easy it was to take the tram into the center of Rome where we had access to most of the attractions or could hop on a bus to Vatican City. The ride in and back was much easier, faster, and less crowded than taking the bus. The apartment gave us more of the local feel instead of the tourist view. We also had fairly easy access to the airport. The local market was fun to go to. For food we had many choices within walking distance including small or large grocery stores and several small cafes. The apartment was clean and well maintained
