Imagine a your own private mini villa. Now add in a grove of magnificent cedars as your landscape. For sounds only the occasional screech of an eagle as it sours high over head or perhaps the soothing rustle of the wind through the cedars. Your next door neighbor is a 250 acre park with walking trails leading down to one mile of secluded pacific beach. Impossible you say! Check out the pictures. One villa has a solarium downstairs and a deck upstairs as well as a beautiful gas fireplace to make the winter nights into a cozy intimate delight. The bedroom upstairs is luxurious, inviting, and romantic. Fabulous windows, yellow cedar pannelling and wool area rugs. We only left one thing out. Noise. In this bedroom you will experience as close as you can get to pure silence. On a still night the silence is amazing. If there is a breeze then you get the wonderful rustle of the cedars. The kitchen is well set up for cooking with two high speed gas burners and a combo microwave. The bathroom is a compact marvel with a shower with continuous hot water so you never run out. And we have recently added a concrete patio area.
The Lily Point Park Cottages have been called the ultimate couples getaway. Nestled in a private wooded setting, the cottages are a dream come true for an intimate and serene holiday. You are secluded yet you are five minutes to 'downtown' Point Roberts, a quaint village with several shops and a well stocked Market with plenty of inexpensive wine and beer. A short 30 minutes away is the awesome beauty and excitement of Vancouver BC. Be sure to click on the link to our website (at the bottom of this page) which shows in great detail the cottages and the area.
Outdoors is the amazing '4 points' experience. Incredibly, all four corners of Point Roberts are state parks. Each one is totally different. At Lighthouse Park you can feel the breeze from the Georgia Strait and whale watch. At Monument Park you can take the great new trail to the beach. At Lily Point Park you can walk the trails in the 250 acre wood and wander on one mile of secluded ocean beach. New for 2013 the park has built a beautifully engineered trail through some pristine area to the ocean. At Boundary Bay park (Maple Beach) you can walk the miles of sand bars. All points are no more that 10 minutes drive from each other. Rain or Shine you can have a refreshing natural experience and then retreat to your own private cottage to rest, relax and recharge.
The nearby Point Roberts golf course was rated one of the 10 best new courses in the USA or indulge in a delicious latte and desert at Café Cabana. For hard core local color, there is the Reef tavern and South Beach House restaurant offers excellent fare and a great view of the ocean.
The Lily Point Park Cottages are pure charm with antique windows, hardwood floors and lots of wood paneling. In the summer you can swim in the ocean on the sand bars. When the tides are right int he summer the water is 70 to 80 degrees. It does not get any more healthy than that.

I have lived 'on the point' for ten years and had a unique opportunity to share this wonderful place with folks looking for relaxation and a chance to 'get away'. I am always amazed by how thoughtful and well mannered the guests at the cottage are.
Pat Capozzi purchased this cottage in 2006
I originally built the first cottage for my son to stay in when he came to visit. The second cottage was an effort to improve on the use of space.
The cottages are connected to Lily Point State Park that has many beautiful trails some of which lead to very private pacific ocean beaches.
What a cute, remote and cozy hideaway. We had a relaxing birthday / Valentines weekend and explored the trails to the beach and caught up on much needed sleep and enjoying some quality time.
I’m going to preface this with saying that, overall, we made the best of our stay, & enjoyed our weekend! It did come with a few laughs over the 'adventures' of the cabin though.
Pros: The area is beautiful, small town vibe, quiet & peaceful, wildlife abounded, local restaurant fare was amazingly delicious, a trail is right behind the cabin, the propane woodstove kept the place warm.
Now I’ll clarify a few things we discovered: 1) The cabin is not as remote & secluded as it appears to be in the photos. You are right next to the owner’s home, & other cabins are nearby. We didn’t have any issues with neighbors, but my whole concept of our getaway was solitude & to be remote. 2) The bathroom is not mentioned or shown in photos, & here’s probably why: What you first think is just a toilet room, you discover is the ENTIRETY of the bathroom. No sink, no mirror. (A person of larger stature would also not be able to use this well.) When you straddle the toilet, or hug the wall, to shut the door, you discover the shower on the opposite wall. (Yep, ya shower with the toilet!) 2a) If the shower knob isn’t really solidly turned off, the drip will keep the floor saturated, continuously; which, if you don’t have shoes on to use the bathroom, isn’t pleasant to discover . 3) The only sink is the kitchen sink.
Cons (fixable): 1) The cabin had a LOT of cobwebs; in the blinds, rafters, on the fixtures, in the windows. (I’m kind of a neat-freak so it bugged me.) 2) Bed pillows were completely non-supportive, they ‘floofed’ down to being basically flat to the mattress. 3) Behind the cabin (to walk to the trail) had a bit of strewn around junk that wasn’t very appealing. 4) The bathroom door is wood, & opens in. Given that this is also the shower door, wood rots & molds, which was visible. Also, the door opening in makes it quite difficult to utilize overall. (Glass door, open out, maybe widen it?) 5) Curtains in the bedroom were just lace, so not light-blocking or privacy-providing. (Howdy hi sunshine! (&/or neighbor!))
Other warning: Stairs are narrow & steep – use caution going down if you’re intoxicated, or generally unbalanced! Not that it happened to me, just, thinking of others...
Honestly, don’t be deterred from renting the cabin, but do be aware of its quirks! :) It'd be best for 1-2 people, who are maybe smaller in stature.
Henry, my canine companion, and I spent 5 days walking in the woods, on the beach, reading, watching Netflix. The Gingerbread Cottage was the perfect place to "unplug and recharge". Pat, the owner, is a gracious host.
A beautiful and secluded little house in a silent forest by the sea.
Rarely have I slept so well.
Nice, rustic & cozy cabin lives up to namesake. You feel off the grid, nestled in a nice treed area with lots of trails right behind it. Great for dogs which are allowed. Pat great to deal with. Forgot how nice Pt. Roberts is, look forward to returning soon!
Thank you Pat for a great anniversary getaway.
The Gingerbread was perfect. The little house is so unique with a touch of rustic to make you feel you have your own little place in the woods. It was a worry free holiday, and the fact that your place is also pet friendly made it even more enjoyable.
We love sitting out on the balcony, enjoying a glass of wine amongst the tall evergreens. As well we had many walks on the beautiful trails with the dogs and down to the beach exploring.
If you are looking for a great place to kickback and relax, the Gingerbread is the place to go. Nice golf course, marina and spectacular ocean views.
Thanks again Pat, we are looking forward to our return visit.

The cabin is nestled among huge ancient cedar trees so even on a ferociously hot day, the cabin stays comfortable and cool. The layout is a unique design of compact convenience. The interior is clean, well kept and beautifully layed out. The owner is nearby and immediately attentive (ie batteries needed). You're surrounded by amazing wood floors (with that cozy creak when stepping), wood walls, wood cabinetry etc. Architecturally designed windows in every nook and cranny allowing a view of the forest. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, cooking utensils and all the bits and pieces to prepare a simple meal. We stayed 3 nights and could've gladly stayed longer. The entire cabin is over and above my expectation and well worth the fee to stay there.
The cottages border on Lily Point Park with trails to very private pacific ocean beaches.
