I am English and I came skiing and married a mountain guide
and ski instructor. We built the chalet in 1963. He died many years ago and I stayed in this lovely valley.
Teresa Staeger purchased this apartment in 1963
It is ideally situated in the middle of the village but off the street in its own garden.

My husband and I stayed at Chalet Horner for six days, and wished that we had eliminated the rest of our trip, and come here for the full two weeks!! Teresa was so welcoming. And the studio was wonderful. It was just right for the two of us with a very well supplied kitchen, and a cozy bed and plenty of room. It was easy to get to the laundromat, and grocery and butcher. We ate most of our meals on the patio because the view was so spectacular. All of the gondolas and trains were within easy walking distance, with so many choices of places to go, you would need to spend an entire summer here to see it all. The walk down the valley was great, also, with a stop at a house that sells cheese from the refrigerator on the front porch! Thank you, so much, Teresa, for our great stay. We would definitely come back (and hope we can!).
Our fantastic week holliday at the studio is a jewel to remember. The studio, very clean, practical, good beds, complete in every detail, privacy, great view.
We, couple 80 and 70 can highly recommend it.
The studio worked great for our family of 3. This was definitely my favorite destination on our European vacation. We loved coming "home" after hiking in the Alps and sitting out back until it got dark which was about 10 pm. Such a peaceful surrounding and gorgeous views with the sound of train whistles and cow bells in the background. Teresa was helpful with tips on where and when to go. Going to Shilthorn early in the morning before the all the tourist arrive was one of the best tips she gave us. She is kind enough to leave a basket of swiss chocolates and snacks for her guests to enjoy. Parking was great and once you arrive you won't need a car until you leave. The studio is located right downtown with outdoor cafes within walking distance. Would love to stay here again and would definitely recommend.
Location, view, green grass patio lovely. A wonderful stay right downtown, easy access to laundromat, Coop grocery store, restaurants, and most importantly both lifts to go up to the high country. It is close to the cig-wheel railroad, but it is slow speed and didn't wake us. We had the studio, enough of a kitchen for basic cooking. Easy car parking and also close to train station. Teresa, the owner, also very helpful. Would love to go back again!
We were 3 couples traveling together and we rented 3 apartments in this cute little chalet owned by Teresa. The apartments were cozy and well appointed. We liked the proximity to Main Street of Lauterbrunnen. A little noise from train that ran in back of the property but not really a nuisance to us. The beds were comfortable and we loved having a little kitchen area with refrig, etc. The bathrooms were typical European mid sized. Teresa was helpful at check=in and the stay went real well. We would certainly recommend these apartments and would not hesitate to return.
We stayed at the Studio apt for 8 nights and just loved it. It was very centrally located in Lauterbrunnen, just minutes from the train station. Grocery, laundry, bakery all just a 2 minute walk away. You can easily get to anywhere in the Berner Oberland area from right here. There is also parking on site if needed.
The studio apartment was perfect for the two of us. Very comfortable beds, great kitchen supplies for basic meals, clothesline and drying rack for those who are on the road a bit longer, and super quiet. The view is great from all the windows and there is a lovely little patio area with table and chairs to sit and relax.
Theresa, the owner, lives on site so that is a plus. She is there to welcome you and answer any questions you might have, and Chico (Theresa's small dog) is there to welcome you back from your daily activities.
We found the rates to be extremely reasonable. We didn't have to eat out at all, We cooked all our meals right in the apt. It's truly the way to stay on a budget on vacation.
Lauterbrunnen was definitely a highpoint of our trip due to the fact that we could come back to our own little space at the end of every day and relax.
We just loved it and will definitely be back.
Thank you Theresa.
