Guestbook comments from the manager

We traveled to the area on motorcycles and had a slight amount of trouble navigating up the hill to find the place while riding but one quick stop to look at the directions and we were in the driveway! On the first morning we were greeted by a bear at the front door, the second day she returned with two cubs! She was not at all threatening and the cubs were adorable, one of the many things that made our stay a lifelong memory!

Good for 3 couples!

  • 3 of 5

There is great privacy for three couples in Firefly but two must be able to go up and down narrow spiral staircases so be sure your people are mobile.

Everything you need in linens, dishes and cooking utensils are there, but it appears that glasses must get broken and not replaced as there could be at least eight of different sizes. Also do bring soaps and paper products for longer stays, as stated there are only enough for a day or two.

Furniture was not pristine, lots of cords from AV equipment...maybe this is a rental more for college students or party folks! But it was comfortable for us and adequate.

Firefly Review

  • 4 of 5

I gave it a four star review because one of the bathtubs is clogged up and dirty. The second floor bedroom carpet was very dirty and spotty. One of the screens on the porch door is falling off, which was like that when we got here. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. It was very roomy and relaxing.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the feedback on our property. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay. We would like to let you know that the property is going to be going through a remodel and will have updates this fall and winter - We have passed this information on to our team and will have the carpet and screen door fixed immediately - We will address that clogged tub too! Thank you again.

Great Week in the Firefly

  • 5 of 5

The Firefly is a great place to stay. The merit of a place is whether or not you would stay there again, and we most definitely would. This home is clean and well maintained. The only real problem we had is that there is no wireless internet so be prepared to use your data. When we inquired about the wireless, we were told it wa because we had Apple products which didn't make much sense. The rocking chair on balcony was broken and needs to be fixed. Also keep in mind that the stairs are narrow and can be a bit hard on the knees. But there is plenty of room, the beds are comfortable, and the location is great. There was a lot of bear activity around the area which was very cool to see!

Firefly Chalet

  • 5 of 5

This was an awesome place to visit!!! We had absolutely no problems booking, or check in, or communication from property owners. We loved this place so much we plan a return visit. It had everything we needed. So much room. It's amazing here. Everyone we have encountered has been wonderful. It's a southern thing I think. Lololol. We couldn't have been more pleased.

The driveway was steep. But hey folks..... you are in the mountains... what did you expect??? Hahahaha

Great place to stay. You won't regret staying here

Pretty Nice House

  • 4 of 5

For the most part we all really liked the house. There were a few things, however, that we wanted to bring to your attention.

I am semi-handicapped and getting up and down the spiral staircases was a challenge at best. Folks may want to be aware that they are steep and quite narrow.

The hot tub had not been turned on so the temperature of the water was quite chilly. I had gone down upon our arrival and realized this. So I turned it on and cranked up the temperature and by that evening it was fairly hot.

While the TV in the living room came on, we were unable to figure out how to get any of the channels to work. Other TVs seemed to be fine.

Due to my issues we took the room on the main level. The bathroom (not on-suite) was very small. No way we could both be in the bathroom at the same time. Water pressure in our shower was pretty low. Friends staying across the way in your other house said the pressure just about blew them out of their shower!!!

But all in all the house was adequate for our group of 5 adults. The driveway was quite steep and we drove right past it upon our arrival. May a big sign at the driveway on the street would be best.

Again, we enjoyed our stay there but thought you might want to know a few things that we encountered. Also, we had a plumbing issue and a plumber came out within hours of my contacting management! Thanks so much for that!

Owner's Response: We appreciate your staying at our chalet and the feedback. We are so happy that you and your group enjoyed your visit. We are sorry about the accessibility concerns. We would like to note that this is not a handicap accessible property nor is it advertised as such. It does have spiral staircases leading to both the lower level and second level guest bedroom, ( that have been added to our description now ). Thanks for bringing that to our attention. We will be sure to have our team check out the water pressure at the property, we have not had any complaints about this in the past, but will definitely see what we can find out. There is sign posted at the top of the drive with reflective lettering so guests can find both this property and our chalet next door easily and even in the dark. We will be sure to check on it to make sure it is still visible. We do wish we could have helped with the TV in the living room, many times the input just needs to be updated.( a quick and easy fix) We are happy we could assist with the plumbing issue during your stay. Thanks for the feed back again! We look forward to hosting you in the future, if not at this chalet, maybe another of our many properties in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
