About Christophe Planchais

My wife, who is from Asia, works for an international institution. I am an independent executive producer for TV and films and a writer. We have three daughters. One of them is a fashion designer, the other one is graphic designer and the last one (on the picture) lives with us and goes to school like every other girl of her age.

We love travelling and finding unusual places. My wife is passionate for decoration like you can see in the apartment. I, myself, am a fan of photography and I love reading.

Why Christophe Planchais chose Seine-et-Marne

I have worked for Disneyland since the opening and I am still surprised by the extraordinary development of this region thanks to the implantation of the park. Where there used to be potatoes fields, cities have been built; the most pleasant and beautiful cities you can expect from a successful urbanization. I also love the mix of races, cultures and languages Disneyland has created with its hotels and its support industries. We have a lot of friends who come from abroad or friends who are married to people from far away who worked for Disneyland and who settled in the area. Our own family is split between three continents (Europe, North America, and Asia) and we often entertain people from our family, cousins of our friends' daughters and their friends who come as a group and want to see everything. We have bought this apartment so they can sleep in a pleasant and lively place from which they can, at night, see the fireworks of Disneyland from the windows of the apartment. By foot, they can also go to Place d'Ariane or in the shopping centres of Val d'Europe or Vallée Village, the biggest outlet brands of Europe. They can have a drink, eat, shop and soon there will also be a cinema.

They love the easy connections in every direction, because if we have chosen Disneyland it is precisely to be at the crossroads of all the main European roads.

Train: on site, Chessy-Val d'Europe train station (RER A) is 35 minutes from Paris and 2 minutes from Disneyland train station in the other direction. From this TGV train station you can take trains to every city in France and in Europe.

Plane: the station is 7 minutes away from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

Highways: direct access to Paris and to everywhere in Europe. You have access to all the superb sites of this wonderful region.

Apartment was ideal for our visit to Disneyland Paris. Christophe was very helpful from the minute we booked the apartment until we left. Apartment is very clean and in the perfect location Christophe gave us all the info we needed about the area, and getting to and from Disney. He also arranged transfers to and from the airport for us. Will definitely be staying here again if we return to Disneyland Paris in the future. Thanks

Great property right at the station

We had a great stay at this property which was well equipped and the owner could not have been more helpful when the Wi-Fi stopped working.

The only points that would have improved the stay were related to the very hot weather we experienced during our stay - we had read in the description that the property had air-conditioning however this was actually lots of fans and a portable air exchange unit. Due to being a top floor property in very high temperatures, the fans had no real affect and so we had to sleep with the windows open. The properties central location above bars/restaurants resulted in it being very noisy so sleeping was difficult with open windows.

However as I say this was simply related to hot summer weather, and other that this the property is excellently located for Disney or Paris and the children loved the toys.

Owner's Response: We apologise for the false promise. We simply forgot to remove the reference in our ad. In fact, we really had an aircon system two years ago but it was "portable" which means big, noisy and not really efficient that none of our guest used after a first try. But you are right to point out that it would have been better than nothing during this spectacular but unexpected heat wave. Since the weather is changing rapidly and this could be just the beginning, we are considering to invest in a real aircon.

Home from home again

Our second visit and just as good as the first. Our son loved the toys and we love the station being on the doorstep and the supermarket also being close

Tip: purchase a book of 10 or 20 RAPT tickets to save money. From what I remember it's 1.50 euro to Marne Le Valeé - great value. We went to the parks in the morning and returned for lunch before going back in the parks mid-afternoon.

Thank you very much for those kind remarks, they are a great reward of our work and help us to maintain our standards. Another tip for those who want to travel extensively in Paris and the surrounding area to visit castles and others touristic spots. Come with an ID picture and register with RATP (regional transportation system) for a Navigo card. There are only monthly or weekly rates and It will cost you a little more per head but you can use it in ALL public transportation systems (trains, metro, buses, tram) up to 150 km away from Paris in certain areas. You can get on and off as much as you want. Besides, your pass card remains valid for 5 years which gives you an opportunity to come back visit us :-))) Thank you again Xof

Disneyland and Paris

Everything you could need and the best location

Easy to find and a wonderful welcome from Christophe. The apartment was spacious and came with everything we needed. We have a two year old son so it was important to us that it was quiet and that we could enjoy our evenings without having to creep around. We used the RER every day which was 2 minutes away (even with a toddler!) Trains were about every 5 - 10 minutes into the heart of Disney - quicker than staying at many Disney hotels. Supermarket was useful and 5 minutes away. Good internet. Great toys. Useful stuff in the kitchen cupboards. We used the washing machine and dishwasher. Also the high chair and cot. We will be back!!!

Fabulous!

We stayed in the apartment for a week to visit Disneyland. The apartment really is as beautiful as it looks on the photographs. It has everything you need, plus more on top, and Christophe couldn't of been more friendly and helpful.

The toys in the children's bedroom were a fantastic addition, and although we never used them, there were books, DVD's and games. Little things like fresh milk, butter and jam and store cupboard essentials really made it feel just like a home from home.

The building itself is very secure and just a few minutes walk from the RER and supermarket. We used the RER into Disneyland (1 stop away) the first day, but preferred to drive which was really easy to do. The apartment also has a secure private parking space.

This was our first trip to Disneyland, and abroad. We had a fantastic week with our children aged 3 and 7 and will be booking to stay here again when we return.

I would recommend the apartment to anyone - you won't be disappointed!
