A 6-bedroom modern house with newly renovated bathrooms located in the lively neighborhood of Capitol Hill, Seattle. With a sleeping capacity for 16 guests, the house is definitely ideal for large groups. It is conveniently situated within walking distance to downtown and Seattle's most visited spots like Volunteer Park (about 5 minutes walk), Cal Anderson Park( 3 minutes distance), Pike Place, Space Needle and a lot more !
Capitol Hill area is an urban neighborhood with tons of night life and things to do for people old and young. Right in the heart of the action just steps from some of the best restaurants, local bars, coffee shops, entertainment and shopping places. The area is very safe so kids can go to the park, 20 somethings can head for the night life, while others can just enjoy the great Seattle feel of living in a one of the most popular areas of Seattle for your time in Seattle.
The Space is well designed and posh so you have plenty of places to sleep and plenty of space for mingling with friends or family. Feel free to bring your furry friend.. We are pet friendly.. Just because your family has fur doesn't mean we should discriminate. We also clean our homes thoroughly after each guest so we don't leave dander or things that make people who are allergic sneeze or sniffle. We do however, leave it up to you if you want to bring that one crazy relative with you though (don't worry we all have one at least ) .. That can be a personal decision ;-)
We are kid friendly as well in fact each house comes with a pack and play to make you stay easier. If you don't want to lug stuff across the airport or country we can help you find a rental agency that rents kids car seats, toys, and the like.
We also have a number of connections we can help set you up with. Florist, Restaurants etc.

Fun in Seattle!
Overall this is a great house/experience. We had a mini family reunion here. Unit was very clean, comfortable, and overall a great stay. Beds were comfortable. Everyone had a room which worked out very well. Kids were able to double up in the bunk bed and double queen rooms. Bathrooms are really small. I'm 6' 4" so found that a bit tough but I think the rest of the family was fine. The large makeup room was nice as we had lots of women trying to get ready at the same time. Staff was very nice to work with and communicated well with us both before and after our stay. Key pad entry made check in super easy. Awesome location with grocery, family friendly restaurants, bars, ice-cream all within walking distance. We ate out most nights but when we did cook at home the kitchen was great and had all we needed in terms of pans, dishes, etc. for family of 10. Awesome oversized table was great for our family. Main living space is accessed via street and is a walk in basement. It was a bit cold down there compared to the rest of the house. There is a stove down there that was nice for warming the space. Back courtyard was awesome and super private. Fun space to have a beer and chat. Didn't use the soaker hot tub. The only constructive feedback I can think to provide is we found out after booking we would be charged extra to park in the 2 car driveway. I think this should be disclosed up front or better yet just included with the unit. Coming in from lots of different states we needed the parking. Thanks for giving us such a soft landing in a new city! We had a blast!
Todd, Thank you so much for your feedback and for giving us great review. It was a pleasure to you have you and your group. We look forward to hosting you again :)
Absolutely amazing location, great communication, and lovely home!!
This entire experience - from booking to leaving - was great. Communication with Tina was easy and she is very responsive. The house is homey and comfortable. My only -very minor- complaint is the pillows aren't the best. Better pillows!! But, in the grand scheme of things, that is really very minor. The house is nicely equipped for family gatherings and has everything you could want. Even parking spaces in Capitol Hill!!
Sol, we appreciate your feedback. We are glad that you had a great time at the property. We will be putting new pillows in the unit :) We look forward to hosting you again!
Perfect location to explore the city!
My family and I spent 10 days over Christmas holiday at the Fun House in Capitol Hill region of Seattle. We had such an amazing time! There was plenty of room for our group (8 adults and a toddler).
The kitchen was very well stocked with lots of high quality cooking pots, pans, and utensils....everything you need to make a holiday meal. There were also lots of common spices, condiments, and pantry staples already there which was nice.
My family loved the family room with the gas stove. It put out a lot of heat. We also made good use of the outdoor hot tub.
The best part was how close the house was to downtown Seattle. We were able to watch the NYE fireworks at the Space Needle with a short walk up the block. A large grocery store was only 3 blocks away. An awesome coffee shop only 1 block and amazing restaurants and bars all within walking distance. A 10 minute walk to the train station and we were able travel to the heart of Seattle with ease. We had a baby in a stroller with us and travel to anywhere we wanted to go was not a problem.
The girls LOVED the "make-up room"--- a room with perfect lighting set up in such a way for several ladies to do hair and makeup.
Only 2 toilets but 3 showers with plenty of hot water and soap and shampoo with lots of towels. The washer and dryer was easy to use and had some laundry soap there although we did have to buy more eventually.
The only issue preventing me from giving the place a 5star rating is the Wifi in the house was very spotty. It randomly dropped and we had to restart the router several times during our stay. It was more of an annoyance than a deal breaker. Knowing that upfront, we would definitely go there again and adjust our expectations. Also the foosball table was not operational. Initially the guys in our group were a little bit bummed, but aside from one rainy day spent indoors, it didn't affect our trip.
If you are looking for a wonderful cozy place for your large group that is right in the middle of the city, this is the place to go.
Thank you for the great review. :-) The internet router has been replaced and the issue has been fixed so has the foosball table. Hope to see you again !
Florida to Fun House
We Traveled from Florida to Seattle to see the sights and a Seahawks game. The location was perfect for our visit. Our group had a great time. The Fun house was perfect. We had an issue with the WIFI and tried to fix using their suggestions but still kept cutting out. Everything else was as advertised. Rooms, location and amenities.
Thanks Thomas! We look forward to hosting you again :)
I can see where this property was once a good vacation rental but its due for an update.
1) Many guest rooms.
2) Capital Hill neighborhood location.
3) Large kitchen table.
1) The internet is very unreliable.
2) Internet TV was also very unreliable.
3) The cleanliness of the bedding and furniture was poor.
4) Lighting was poor.
5) Charged for parking when 2 driveway spots were available.
6) VRBO offered 3-night pricing lower than the actual charge.
7) No locks on the bathroom doors
8) Living room futon furniture leg taped together, needing replaced.
9) Foosball table arms needing repair.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize routers wear out in these things every year or two. We have since replaced all of the hardware for the internet and it is better now. We do charge for parking as the rental is close into the city spots are at a premium. There are locks on the bathroom doors? As we do during every down season we have replaced and cleaned furniture. Thank you
The house is very spacious, and is in a very convenient and central location. Our group of 15 decided not to rent cars and found that everything was a reasonable walk or Uber away.
We paid for early check-in, but found that the cleaner was still there when we arrived. Unfortunately it was never communicated to the cleaner that we got the early check-in and they had to rush cleaning and making the beds. We did get a refund, but the house was not as clean as it should have been due to the miscommunication.
Additionally, the heat on the first floor did not work and the owners said no one could get to it for a week. The temperatures were in the mid 50's to low 60's during our stay and we spent a lot of time bundling up or packing into the smaller recreational areas on the second floor to warm up. The lack of heat was very unfortunate and put a big damper on our enjoyment- otherwise I'd highly recommend this property.
Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication. It is unfortunate that the gas fireplace on the first floor (where the living room is) and that our repair person couldn't fix as soon as we attempted. It has been repaired now though. Nonetheless the staff should have dropped off a space heater I apologize that didn't happen.
We are just steps from the most active day and night life in Seattle. There are 100's or restaurants, upscale coffee shops, local bars, entertainment and shopping spots within the area that are literally blocks away. Within 1 block you have the Starbucks concept store where they try out new tactics to be deployed worldwide AND the best coffee in Seattle (not Starbucks) . The house's closest park is the play ground for a school which is 1 block away. You can also go 4 or so blocks further to Volunteer Park and Cal Anderson Park which are much larger and great places to hang out and see the locals do their thing. Capitol Hill is the most sought after neighborhood in Seattle and this house sits right in the middle of it all but is just enough on the edge so that it is not running over you and are able enjoy a good night's sleep. There is something for everyone in this area 5 years old to 90 years old. Within 1 block you have a theater, 20 restaurants or bars, what some say is the best coffee in Seattle, and even a place that makes everything with chocolate, including the drinks. You can't get more 'Real Seattle Living' than this place. Capitol Hill is the the home of many well-renowned music venues and bars. Also known as the Eclectic and Energetic, the area represents a combination of the old and modern. The neighborhood also has abundant art galleries, trendy fashion shops and a lot more!
