The Pine Street Cottage is located one hour north of San Francisco nestled on a 20 acre private ranch off of Scenic Hwy 12 in Kenwood, CA. Our late Aunt Sally Stanford purchased the ranch in 1961 as a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. She was San Francisco's most famous Madame and Sausalito's former Mayor. We named this rental 'Pine Street Cottage' as a tribute to her original bordello on 1144 Pine Street in San Francisco.
The cottage is located right in the heart of Sonoma County wine country in a area that is well known as the Valley of the Moon.
We are registered with the county and our Transient Occupany Tax Number is # 1096N.

Sally Stanford was my great aunt and she left the property to my family.

Our stay at the ranch exceeded our expectations. The cottage was immaculate, well furnished, and well stocked with everything you could think of. We arrived to find a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers and chocolates to snack on. There was also cereal, milk, coffee, cream, butter, and orange juice for breakfast. Who could ask for anything more. Using the rain shower was a delight and the towels were soft and fluffy. Judy provided an extensive line of personal items for use. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were top of the line. It was wonderful having a washer and dryer to use. The views and landscape of the property were breathtaking. It was easy to relax in such a peaceful atmosphere. We have stayed at numerous properties over the years and this one is # 1. We will be returning when we visit CA again. Needless to say we would highly recommend staying at this property. Thank you David and Judy for your gracious hospitality.

My family and I has such a wonderful stay at the ranch. David and Judy's cottage is very nice and they provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. Blankets, towel, bath supplies and all the kitchen supplies to allow you to make breakfast or cook a nice dinner. There were movies, games and information all about the area. They really added all the small touches to help you enjoy your stay. They have a lovely patio table in the back that we enjoyed breakfast at each morning. The peacefulness and beautiful scenery of the land really made this a great trip for the family. Especially for the great price, I highly recommend their property and will be sure to stay again when heading back to Sonoma and need a rental home.
We had a great time at the Pine street cottage. The location was very convenient for traveling between Napa and Sonoma. The property itself is a lovely, peaceful ranch that was quiet and great for stargazing at night. The cottage was spacious for 2 couples, especially the well sized bathroom that had plenty of towels and toiletries. We were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen stocked with wine, cheese, milk, coffee, and cereal. The beds and linens were comfortable. We would stay here again.
We loved Pine Street CottagEast and look forward to staying here again! Fully stocked kitchen, great rainhead shower , comfy beds. Great location, too!
This cottage was clean, comfortable, nicely appointed and well stocked. Even better was the idyllic natural landscape surrounding it, in a totally peaceful setting. And, our host was most gracious. There is nothing to complain about and there is nothing more we could have asked for.
Once again, our stay at David and Judy's property was fabulous! It's so comfortable, private and very well stocked with everything one needs during your stay. We will definitely be back!!
