409 - Madeira Bay Resort
Great unit with a view of the ocean! Perfectly located just 0.4 miles from John's Pass and was very convenient to walk to restaurants and shops. The unit itself was very well stocked with everything that we needed and we loved the full-sized bunk beds for the kids!
One recommendation, get another beach chair or two. One is not enough. :)
We will be back
This is the second year we have stayed in this condo. There were many nice changes this year (new couches, new floor) although we were very happy with the original . There is no longer an expansive view of the gulf as a new building is being built directly across the street, Instead there is a smaller view. You cannot beat the location of this unit, across the street from the beach and a few blocks from the bars, restaurants and shops at Johns Pass. We will be back.
Condo was as described. A bit cramped if you had more than 4 people, but for our needs it was perfect. A short walk to the boardwalk with great places to eat. Beach across the street was perfect, white sand, no crowds.
Condo was in great shape, though internet was slow due to it being part of the overall resort. Netflix didn't work on the TV, so plan ahead. or rent a dvd from the redbox down the street.
Family of 5
We enjoyed our stay at the Madeira Bay Resort. It was a great condo comfortable, clean and well equipped. The only criticism I would have, the guest bedroom was very small and had 2 single beds which are small for adults. The guest shower needs a soap dish or some place to hold soap, shampoo, etc.
Maintenance responds was excellent when the coffee maker did not work. It was immediately replaced.
The condo was conveniently located within walking distance of John's Pass.
Free parking and swimming pool and hot tub access were pluses as well.
There is some sort of construction directly in front of the condo which spoiled the view of the bay and produced noise. The didn't detract from the condo but did affect the quality of the vacation.
Bottom line: I highly recommend this condo.
Good but not great.
The condo was clean and had all the amenities one would want. The reasons for not rating five stars :
The carpet out in the hallway is stained and this makes for a lousy impression.
The sofa in the unit is quite uncomfortable.
The cable channels were difficult to access and from it would have been very nice to provide a channel guide as one would find in any hotel room.
The seating for meals is awkward. The counter top is not deep enough to accommodate the bar stools and the little table is too little for two people to enjoy a meal.
We enjoyed our stay and the area but won't be back.
Thank you for the feedback. We will be replacing the carpet and also doing some upgrades to the furniture. Unfortunately, there is not enough room for a full dining room table, so we do have to work with the tall bar type table. Glad you enjoyed the area, and hope we can help you in the future.
Madiera Bay Resort 409
Housekeeping has serious issues! The location was great, as advertised! You need to know pets are allowed in the building witch creates smells. Not at all clean and hasn't been for awhile!
There are pets allowed in the building, but we do not (and have never) allowed any pets in the condo. We will check over the area thoroughly and make sure that any issues are addressed immediately.
Explore pristine Florida beaches in the St. Petersburg area, home to Madeira Beach and Treasure Island. Pick from houses, condos and cottages, and get ready to enjoy sugar white sand and warm breezes. Vacations in the St. Petersburg area offer abundant outdoor recreation – on and off the water – a lively arts scene, and award-winning restaurants.
Madeira Beach, located west of St. Petersburg is home to John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, a fun attraction for all ages. John's Pass, or the Pass to locals, offers top dining and nightlife options, family-friendly attractions, shopping and water sports. While walking the 1,100-foot boardwalk, see alligators at The Alligator Attraction and dolphins playing in the Gulf's waters. Walk into dozens of unique shops that sell everything from beachwear to shells to find the perfect souvenir or gift.
Madeira Beach's restaurants welcome family and friends to try the fresh local flavor. Many top-rated restaurants at the Pass feature entertainment, specials and events as well. The Seafood Festival at John's Pass – held annually in October – hosts more than 100,000 guests to celebrate food, music, and arts and crafts.
Water lovers can parasail, rent jet skis or deep-sea fish to complete their beach vacation. John's Pass is also a popular fishing destination and brings in more grouper than any other place in Florida. Visitors can also relax while birdwatching, boating and canoeing, all within easy access of their vacation rental.
Treasure Island – adjacent to St. Petersburg – is another favorite beach town in Florida. Swim, snorkel, fish, parasail and shell at this hot spot, which was named from an early hotel owner who buried and discovered treasure chests on the beach.
Known as a secret spot for sunsets, Treasure Island's 3 miles of beaches serve as the perfect place to watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico with someone special. Treasure Island also offers guests fun-filled attractions and things to do, paired with restaurants serving everything from breakfast to fresh seafood dinners.
Other popular attractions in the St. Petersburg area include the award-winning Salvador Dali Museum and Fort De Soto Park, the largest park within the Pinellas County Park System, measuring more than 1,100 acres.
