Lovely house in a perfect area

  • 5 of 5

Spacious boutique house which is stylishly decorated. It was absolutely ideal for our weekend away with 3 other couples to celebrate a birthday. Stones throw from the harbour and half of our group went fishing from the pier each day. Huge kitchen/dining area with everything you could possible need for cooking. Lovely comfortable beds and linens. One main parking space right next to the house and we had no problem at all finding additional parking on streets close by. There is an enclosed private garden to the side of the house with a BBQ, table and chairs for 8 which we didn't use but I imagine it would get good mid-day sun. Would not hesitate to book again in the future.

The cottage was spacious and ideal for our party of seven

  • 4 of 5

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. There was ample room for us all. The kitchen space in particular was ideal fie socialising and entertaining. The quality of the fittings and utensils was good. The village is quiet but that suited us fine....very easy to get out and about to nearby places. Our only minor gripe was that the cottage probably needs to a good spruce up but this may be down to it being the end of season. Would definitely stay again though

Great space!

  • 4 of 5

A group of 8, 6 adults and 2 teenagers stayed at Driftwood cottage for a 3 night stay and had a great time. The cottage has amazing space for a group of 8, loved the kitchen living area, it reminded us of a trendy bar. Kitchen very well equipped and liked the small touch of fresh bread and milk on arrival. Rooms were of good size, beds and pillows very comfortable. Would have been nice to have a shower in the down stairs toilet and a toilet in the upstairs en-suite but this is just nit picking it was not a big issue. We did not use the garden and BBQ area because of the time of year but this would be great in the summer. Had fantastic fish and chips from a chip van that was recommended, situated beside the May View hotel. Shop just at the top of the road for any groceries, very handy. Will definitely return if in the area again. The Secret Bunker is well worth a visit, very interesting. I have given it 4 stars because of shower and toilet, otherwise a definite 5.

Perfect house for a family get together

  • 3 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Driftwood Cottage. A beautiful house with spacious rooms in a great location.

There were a few issues - lack of travel cot after specifically checking there would be one. We tried to call the caretaker from check-in time (4pm) so the last resort was the owners. After a bit of negotiating the owners managed to get one for us, after being told we needed to go and buy one and we would be re-inburst for it. Not quite sure where they expected us to buy one from at that time in the East Neuk of Fife! Considering it was 6pm on a Friday night this was not a useful suggestion!

The kettle needs replacing as the on switch was broken off.

One of the attachments on the highchair was broken leaving the sharp end of a screw sticking out near the tray section (just where little hands would be). Also the bedside lamp in master room was not working.

Apart from the above it was a great house and we all really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely stay for 8 people for a birthday weekend

  • 5 of 5

The property was very inviting with a large kitchen dining area, perfect for cooking, eating and socialising. The living room was very cosy and ideal with the electric fire on (it was nice and toasty).

The bedrooms were on the smallish size but didn't matter at all as there is little need to spend time in it other than to sleep.

One bed was not made up, but the housekeeper and owner very efficiently corrected this which was much appreciated.

We didn't get a chance to use the barbecue in early March, but there was a nice outdoor space.

The local area is fantastic with lovely walks both directions along the coast.

Would highly recommend this place for a relaxing weekend away in Fife. Fantastic host and great property.

4golfers staying for 1week

  • 4 of 5

This was a good choice for us, 4 beds and 2 and 1/2 bathes in a quaint fishing village near St. Andrews Scotland. Drives were easy to all golf courses and shopping for food close in Anstruther 5 miles away. You need a car. Only real complaint was the worn ,somewhat stained carpet and the lack of a good pasta cooking pot. Would recommend it however.
