I live in the building year round (unit C-241) and try to make things as painless as possible. Please keep in mind although the maximum occupancy is six, four is ideal comfort wise. I have it listed at six with small children in mind.
Located only two miles from Duval the area truly offers the best of both worlds, close to downtown without most of the partying noise. 1800 Atlantic sits on 400 feet of oceanfront property. An Olympic sized heated pool and spa sit ocean side surrounded by a lushly landscaped garden. Plan a picnic or barbecue in the shade of this beautiful garden. When you are done relaxing by the pool, hit one of three lighted tennis courts. Enjoy Smathers beach without the drive. located only a few blocks from building Smathers offers sailboat, paddle board, hobie cat, chair, and umbrella rentals. Parasailing is also available. An over sized sidewalk runs parallel along the beach for walks, jogging, biking, or rollerblading. Several chairs, coolers, and beach towels are available in the condo. Large living area compared to most condo's in Key West (1550sf).
I should point out the guest bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and the master bedroom does not. So the master runs a bit cooler than the guest room.
Once I receive either an e mail or booking request I supply my cell number. With three condos calls from people looking to negotiate were getting a little out of hand so I took the number down. Disclaimer: Renovation work is allowed at the building 9am - 5pm weekdays. Usually its quiet here but unfortunately there are exceptions. Neighbors give no warning of renovation work and even building management does little / nothing keeping us up to date on general work on the building. The safest bet is a hotel to avoid such surprises. Anything major that I see coming will give a heads up about though.
7. CANCELLATIONS - If a cancellation is made between the time of booking and 30 days prior to arrival the $100 deposit will be forfeited. The full balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. If a cancellation is made within the 30 days prior to arrival 50% will be refunded. Keep in mind this is only 50% of the base rate I would hold onto. NOT the grand total.
We live in the building year round. Renting my condo's here at 1800 Atlantic is all I do. If there is ever an issue I wont be too far away.

Had a wonderful vacation. Your place is very nice, we appreciated the extras that you had like the towels, shampoo, and fully stocked kitchen. Very clean, nicely decorated. And such a comfortable bed in the master bedroom.

the apartment is a little away from the center - which is a good thing, its quiet enough to enjoy with the family, but close enough to go downtown to eat, drink and walk around (you need a car, its a bit far to walk), the pool is great for relaxing and if you like the beach - there is a open beach all of 100 yards walk to the left as you face the sea. we enjoyed and would definitely stay again
Amazing Condo and gorgeous view of the sunrise from the balcony! Condo is very very clean and stocked with everything you need and extras that you didn't think to bring!! Tom the owner was very patient and great to work with!! We have already shared rental info with friends and family and we will return for a future stay!! Absolutely loved our stay!!
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the wonderful, spacious Tom's Chicken Coop! What a place! It is very large, spacious, bright and airy. It felt like being at home and everything about the place was wonderful. The view, the rooms, the beds, kitchen, living area (huge!) and the wonderful large deck. I have never stayed at a place with everything you needed right at your fingertips. What is so nice is that it is only a short drive from Duval Street and the heart of town but a nice place to get away and relax at the end of the craziness that Key West has to offer. A wonderful pool and great view too. We LOVED this place. We were there with our two kids but it would also be nice with just us. I give this a huge thumbs up. Thank you Tom!
This property is as pictured and Tom the owner is great to deal with....he really helped us out with the approaching Hurricane Mathew. We enjoyed the location of the condo, very close to the airport (2 miles) and to old town Key West. Instead of renting a car we opted for bikes instead and it took maybe 10-15minutes to bike to Mallory Square. We enjoyed the pool daily and the grounds are well kept. Loved everything about the condo and if we visit Key West again will definitely contact Tom for reservations!
I'm writing this in the last couple hours of my vacation here at Tom's Chicken Coop from the balcony sipping on my coffee. This has been one of our favorite locations and condos to date and you certainly can't go wrong picking the Coop for yourself. We rode around by bike all week with our 2 children (4 and 7) as it was just a short 10-15 minute ride anywhere you wanted to go. The pool is amazing...we swam twice a day, everyday. I was so surprised at the size...it's huge! Depths of 3 feet all the way to 9 feet. We did a significant amount of cooking and the kitchen was very well stocked. My husband also went on a fishing charter with Captain Brice from Double Down and in a few short ours they came home with 10 amazing fish....1 Black Tuna and 4 Red Snapper and they were amazing! Highly recommend them. We rented bikes from Eaton Bikes and they really were amazing. Bikes where here and ready to roll before our plane even landed. Tom was a pleasure to work with and we even got to meet him after we had a question. Seriously, you can't go wrong staying here....we will definetly be back. :)
