Very comfortable house with a great location

  • 4 of 5

The house had plenty of room, had a nice deck and great outdoor shower. Excellent location, very close to beaches, bike paths and downtown. Lisa was very responsive to any questions that we had. Would definitely recommend.

Not the immaculate home we'd hoped for

  • 2 of 5

This house is really large & wonderfully decorated. Unfortunately, when we arrived there were a lot of things broken or not functioning properly. First thing you see are 2 gates on the deck broken/hanging on hinges and a privacy fence that looks ready to fall over. Inside, the dryer didn't work well (it was so loud it was hard to hold a conversation on the main floor with it running), there were a couple standing fans upstairs - one didn't work at all the other only sometimes, there wasn't a hand towel in the entire house for kitchen or bathrooms and no pot holders to use for taking food out of the oven. Several beach chairs in the shed were broken, there is a huge hole in the floor of the shed - looks like someone stepped in there & broke through, there were burnt out light bulbs, kitchen utensils that were broken - found half of an unusable vegetable peeler in the drawer, no door knob on one bedroom door & while the tv worked, the picture was fuzzy as if it was about to go as well. Even the porch, the best part of the house, was disappointing bc so many of the blinds were broken. Instead of enjoying coffee out there looking at the beautiful yard, we sat there looking at blinds that wouldn't open. I also thought it was odd that there is a towel quota - only 8 for the entire house. We were a family of 7 meaning 8 bath towels to share between us & again, no hand towels. The girls who wanted a towel for their hair had to use the beach towels we brought - which was fine expect for the poorly working dryer - and those who wanted to shower in the morning & again before bed had to use towels that were damp/not fully dried b/c of the high humidity. I give the owners credit, they replaced the microwave that stopped working mid-week, brought us hand towels/pot holders and replaced a light bulb mid-week. Unfortunately, while they were there they power-washed the house leaving the deck and a deck chair cushion covered with dirt/debris from the sides of the house. As for the dryer, they replaced it but we spent the last morning of our vacation letting contractors into the house & listening to all the pounding that goes with appliance repairs. I spent more time on my vacation dealing with broken household items than I would have had I been at home.

Again, this house is huge, clean (even the broken fan had been dusted!), we'd have paid more for hotel accommodations for such a large family & owners were friendly.

Owner's Response: This is a hard review to respond to as over the past 6 years we have had nothing but glowing reviews. We have a beautiful home, well kept, well cared for and well stocked and take great pride in making sure each and every guest is taken care of. Unfortunately there's always someone who you can't please no matter what! Let me try to respond to all her complaints. The guests prior to this guest, broke one of the fence gates (not two) and we're in the process of getting that repaired, as well as the broken piece of wood in the shed (already repaired). During this guest's stay, we were told the dryer was loud and the microwave stopped working. She demanded that we replace the microwave THAT day as they wanted to heat up leftovers for dinner. (I received several texts about this). I took the day off work, drove to the Cape and bought a new microwave AND a new dryer and were able to to get them delivered and installed the same day. We provide bath towels and face cloths for each guest, as well as bed linens. The cleaning person should have left hand towels which I have spoken to her about. There were pot holders in the kitchen, but I bought additional ones, as well as hand towels mid week. Our kitchen is very well stocked with lots of utensils and when checking after the guest left, I'm not sure what she's talking about regarding the broken utensils. Apparently one out of 6 fans wasn't working, which we have thrown away, and all overhead paddle fans in each room are functioning perfectly. The beautiful sunroom has 12 floor-to-ceiling windows, with built-in blinds - two of which are not opening. I can't imagine the view was obstructed. I won't go any further, but I would advise anyone wanting to rent to this person, be cautious.

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We had a full house and the layout provided lots of room for everyone to spread out. Lisa is a very attentive hostess and checked in on us during a late winter snow storm. Location is central to everything and the house is neat and clean. Thanks Lisa!

Perfect house with AMAZING deck!

  • 5 of 5

Rented this house for a long Cape weekend as a few girlfriends and I were running the Cape Cod Half Marathon. There were 8 of us, but the house never felt crowded and everyone all had their own space. Because of the open layout of the house - the kitchen and dining area were open to the couches - we always felt like we were hanging out together without being on top of one another. Plenty of comfortable sleeping space and great water pressure in the showers! The real highlight of the house was the deck and sun room / porch. The deck is HUGE and has enough seating for at least 8 people, and the sun room is a beautiful little room to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. We were so impressed with the size, quality, and cleanliness of the house - we'll definitely be back!

Great place for us

  • 5 of 5

This spacious, clean, well-appointed home fit our needs perfectly. There are several areas for different activities, for watching TV, for lounging, a large deck, a game room with a variety of games & puzzles etc. It is in a quiet neighborhood, yet it is close to Route 28, East Falmouth & Menauhant beach. The owner is accessible & helpful. Looking forward to returning next year!
