Stunning 2,000 square foot hillside home on private Seal Cove in South Bristol, Maine.
Located just 3 hours north of Boston, this home is a private waterfront retreat surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Maine woods. A custom property designed by New Haven architect Alan Organschi, this new three-bedroom, two-bath home has an open floor plan with spectacular water views throughout the house.
Situated on eight secluded acres of virgin Maine forest, a quiet woodland footpath leads from the house to an expanse of private waterfront with a private dock, a row boat and two kayaks.
Perfect for swimming, fishing and exploring the coastline by boat, Seal Cove is unmatched in its natural beauty and abundant wildlife. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets either down on the dock or on the patio overlooking the cove.
The historic town of Damariscotta is a ten-minute drive north and is a charming destination. Spend the morning shopping at the local farmers' market where you will find Maine's finest artisan breads and cheeses, organic meats and vegetables, cut flowers and delicious homemade pies.
Visit the many shops and galleries in town, grab a lobster roll and be sure to browse the award-winning local bookstore. Also nearby and not to be missed: experience the breathtaking cliffs of Pemaquid Point -- one of Maine's most photographed destinations -- where the Atlantic Ocean explodes onto the dramatic rocky shoreline.
This home blends state-of-the-art convenience with the old-fashioned warmth and charm of an old Maine camp.
Our thanks to the Bair's for a idyllic vacation stay for our family. For all those that choose to stay, their love of Maine is immediately obvious. The home is just as the pictures represent. How well it fits in the canopy of the forest and the privacy it affords is hard to describe. We would recommend the property without reservation and look forward to an opportunity to stay there again.
Very beautiful house in a very serene place. Bird watching, seal watching, kayaking and canoeing were all part of our daily routine here. If you feel like going out for a nice meal S. Bristol and Damariscotta are both close by. Must see's are all the wonderful lighthouses and if you prefer a beach, Pemaquid beach is also very close. Thank you to the Bair's for letting us stay in their wonderful house.
We just returned from 5 weeks in South Bristol, and the house could not have been a more wonderful place to stay. Nestled in the woods on the banks of Seal Cove, the location is wonderfully peaceful - well away from the throb of boat engines. Kayaking from the dock allowed plenty of adventures and exercise, with many nearby coves, the river, and South Bristol not far away. Swimming was bracing, but we all did it. The house itself is beautiful from all aspects - a wonderful view from every point in the house of the outside and inside. Bald eagles visiting the woods, seals on the rocks across from the house, and osprey nests in the nearby woods. Note too that the bank across from the house is a nature preserve, adding to the feeling of being away from it all. All in all just a wonderful place to spend time. The pictures will impress you. Spending time here will impress you more.
Ten Minute Drive to Damariscotta.
